For our 8th grade trip to Washington DC, whoever plans the trip decided to reserve Uno Pizzerias large group area. I did not expect much due to many one star reviews I saw beforehand. I decided to give my own perspective on this Resturaunt and describe my experience. Keep in mind that our meal would likely have been much different if we didnt have nearly 100 people eating. Food ----------- The pizza was interesting. It was deep dish, however, most of It was dough. Instead of normal sauce, tomato chunks were placed on top of a decently thick layer of cheese. The tomato made the pizza feel and taste soggy, but overall, it wasnt the worst Ive ever had. Drinks ------------- The drink selection for large groups was, well, poor. The options were lemonade and Pepsi, both of which were clearly very watered down. This can be somewhat forgiven, because when having to serve a large group, costs could be cut tremendously. Service ------------- For the most part, the service was decent. The staff did however, feel very frantic and a bit disorganized, bit having to serve nearly 100 middle schoolers will do that to you. Resturaunt (cleanliness, decor) --------------- The main Resturaunt looked very clean, with video screens for ordering and no messes to be seen. The large group area was the exact opposite. The tables were unclean and very cramped. If you left your feet on the floor for more than 10 seconds, they would stick. Some of the plates were wet. But, this is understandable, because as our group left the area, another large middle school group lined up to get inside, leaving the staff almost no time to clean or prepare for them. Overall --------------- If you were to come to this resturaunt with a group larger than 10, I would suggest that you find another place to eat. With a small group or a few other people, the experience would most likely be vastly superior to the one described here. Most of the one star reviews for this Resturaunt are likely from middle schoolers such as ourselves, but many of the faults described in both this review and those can be somewhat forgiven.

The service was, and this is not an exaggeration, the worst service I have ever experienced in my adult life. I went there with a folk dancing team of about 50 people. We had made reservations, pre-ordered and had a whole side of the restaurant to ourselves. The restaurant however did not record the preorders for the dance group. From then on things only got worse. It took the staff a full 1 hour and 55 minutes to bring me my food. This only occurred however after 1) They brought me the wrong order. I told them to bring the right order and they said they would get to it. 2) after another 30 minutes had passed they had still not brought me my order I asked about it and they said it would be coming shortly. 3)After about an hour and 20 minutes as our group was starting to leave I asked about my order again. The wait staff looked at me with confused expressions and, after I explained that I had not gotten my order said that they would bring it to me for free. 4)another 20 minutes go by and by this time my girlfriend and I were the ONLY people sitting in the side section of the restaurant, not counting of course the table of waiters in the back of the section counting their tips. I inquired, quite angrily I might add, as to the whereabouts of my food and explained my situation to a woman, who I can only presume, was the head of the waitstaff. She looked at me in a confused manner and told me that it was their understanding that I had cancelled my order but that they would get me my food out to me free of charge and "right away". 5) 15 minutes later my food finally arrives. My food finally was comped and they did give me a free dessert which ironically I could not eat as it was ice cream and I am lactose intolerant. To add another note to any people who might think that this would be a swell place to bring children, it took the wait staff about 1.5 hours to serve a table 2 rows down from me that included a mother and her 2 YEAR OLD CHILD!! Of our group of 50 about 1/3 of the people had problems with the service. To top it all off the food was incredibly bland and disappointing.

Im writing this as Im sitting down waiting for my food. So first off, Im waiting for my train which will arrive in 2 hours so I though Ill go sit down and eat and grab a drink while I wait. Came across UNO! Walked in, there was a young lady (black with natural hair in a low puffy ponytail and VERY THICK glass) she was behind the registers when I walked up to her. I said hey how are you? She didnt respond and I asked if I had to wait for a host to sit me down or just sit myself down. She said where do you want to sit? I said anywhere I dont want to inconvenience you...Im waiting for my train so I just have to hear the intercoms. She led me to my seat with out a word. She later on brought me water. The glass was disgusting! There was floating stuff and residue on the glass, I asked this other waiter who was very pleasant to me. I said hey Im sorry to bother you but may I please have another glass of water this one is not clean! He looked at it and said omg Im sorry thats not okay. Took it away. I asked if they shared tips because I was not happy with my waiter, he said no we dont and Im already cut! He returned very shortly with a clean glass of water and again apologized. My server returned with food and just placed it on the table without saying a word, I said thank. Never came back to check on me....now I too am a server and an obnoxiously high tipper because I get it. It was slow and I feel awful because this will be the first time where I barely tip anyone. There was no service, and thats what I tip for...great service. She walked by be made eye contact and never checked on me. Very disappointing experience. I know this restaurant can do better, Ill just have to go to a different location and give it another chance, but I know for a certain I will not be coming back here again.

This has had to be the worst place I have ever eaten at in my entire life. You would have thought that in such a nice location the food and service would be fantastic, this is not the case. We arrived and were seated, we ordered water and one of the deep dish pizzas. The water came and in it was broccoli. I asked the waitress if I could have another glass since there were pieces of broccoli floating in it. She apologized and brought another glass- which also had broccoli in it. Im not sure if their ice is near broccoli or what, but there was broccoli floating in my water. Ok, so I just pulled it out myself. Next the silverware was filthy- my boyfriend had to pick dried food off of his fork in order to use it. The dishes had dried sauce on it and both plates were dirty. After waiting for THIRTY minutes the waitress apologized that they had a big party and our food would be coming shortly. She offered us free salad on the house for the long wait. We were starved and took her up on her offer. Another 15-20min goes by before we get our pizza. It was mediocre. If we hadnt been so tired from the long drive to DC we would have just gotten up and left but our starving stomachs would not have made it to wait at another place there. Overall, I felt bad for the waitress, I think she could tell we were unhappy- I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone. They need a new dishwasher and CLEAN broccoli free water! The experience was so horrendous that I was expecting someone to jump out and say Smile! Youre on candid camera! Unfortunately no one did. So warning to fellow travelers, avoid this place!!!!!
