I guess people really like this place because its independent and pretty hipster. Im not a coffee buff, so take my review with a grain of salt. Maybe I went in with too high of expectations from all the rave reviews. The coffee taste good, and the baristas were really cool and friendly. But the menu is pretty simple and the seating is pretty slim. Me and my friend had to basically chill on the window sill. It worked, but there are other place with ample space and comfortable seating that serve just as good a cup of coffee. Just "good" pretty accurately sums up my attitude towards this place. Nice experience, but nothing to call home about.

Cute, trendy, good coffee and friendly staff. I ordered a small latte, it was fantastic. You have two choices of coffee beans to choose from for your coffee base. I chose the Ethiopian coffee beans. There is a $5 minimum for credit/debit. The coffee is why I will be back, by far one of my favorite coffee places in the area. It was a little crowded inside, I was able to sit outside. If you are coming by yourself or just with one other person you shouldnt have too much trouble finding a seat. I was with a group of five so it was a little hard.

Service is always friendly and quick. The coffee, unfortunately, just is not good-- burnt and super-acidic. The London Fog (tea) is excellent and very cool to see it come together as well (have to see it to understand that comment)...also, thr cardamon latte is distinct and delicious! The ambience is hit or miss (i.e. sometimes the music is cranked up too loud to even think let alone have a conversation) that said, it does have a distinct vibe and it can be very enjoyable-- try sitting in one of the front windows or on the patio.

The Coffee Bar, although getting busier by the minute, is my go-to place for off-site meetings or getting stuff done out of the office. The chai is fantastic, well all the drinks are fantastic. The baked goods are usually great, just dont get there too late or the good stuff will be gone. Same goes with seats. Every time I go there its busier and busier, the outside seats are pleasant in the warm weather but when it gets cold, its going to get real in there trying to stake out a spot. A cute place in a cute neighborhood.

Local coffee is always better than chain coffee. While the place was very busy during my visit, the staff was super friendly. Did not have some of the traditional flavors for latte but that did force me to try something new so I tried the cardamon latte; Id recommend it for something new. Not a lot of room to sit inside and parking in the street is not the easiest thing to find. If you dont mind the parking struggle (at least on this particular Saturday morning) then you should visit.

Been going here for a while now and its great. The staff is friendly, the coffee is good and the ambiance is good. My favorite part? The are a number of different seating styles to suit your mood including: *a counter to get work done *a large table good for talking with friends *cozy chairs and a couch for reading *big windows which are good to stretch out our have an intimate chat in *outdoor tables to enjoy the weather and take in the neighborhood

No Wi-Fi on the weekend, very slow service with drinks made very out of order. Nearly 10 minutes between drink 1 and drink 2 being ready, with several customers served between those two drinks. When the coffee arrived it was quite good, but far from the best in the area. The outdoor seating area is a real bonus on a warm day. If not in a rush, and you want to sit outside, then this place is OK but otherwise you can do better with a few blocks walk.

I love it here. I love how they have an actual bar with stools you can sit at alongside your fellow coffee loving comrades. The staff is a good amount of friendly while still maintaining their barista coyness. The outdoor seating is nice for overcast days and crisp fall mornings. The coffee cant be beat, but I wish they offered more snack foods besides cookies and croissants.

Its a great place to grab a coffee and study or just sit. Its always busy and a little bit noisy, but the coffees great and its within a short walk of other interesting places to go. They serve Verve and Ceremony Espressos and, for the pour-overs, theyve always had Verve, Publik and Ceremony available. UPDATE: theyve replaced the verve espresso with Bespoken.

TCB is my favorite coffee shop in Northwest DC-- especially when I can sit outside on the patio. Totally the anti-Starbucks option. Wifi is free but limited to 3 hours, so if youre trying to post up somewhere all day, try someplace else. Theres a good amount of seating at the bar and on the couches. Sometimes gets a bit busy on the weekends!

Hip coffee can be found in DC! Tucked in the middle of a residential neighborhood, The Coffee Bar reminds me of The Social Study sans the cocktails. Almond milk has yet to penetrate many indie cafes so I settled for soy milk. Overall, its a chill place to WFH and sip on a pour over cup of Novo, Verve or Ceremony roasts.

One of DCs finest espresso bars, and one of my favorite places to start my mornings. The coffee is brewed perfectly, the pour overs are flavorful, and the espresso is not over-extracted but just right. Cait, the owner, knows what shes doing with the coffee but also with the warm and friendly environment.

Snobby coffee bar. Yeah sure I want to hear all about coffees acidity after 10 minutes and no I didnt know theres cat poop coffee beans. I just want a coffee without a lecture. Procedure is nice but could dial it down on shoving coffee beans down your throat. Street parking available outside

Best latte I have ever had. It was perfect. Its a nice place, takes itself seriously without being pretentious. I was there 9am on a Sunday - no line and plenty of places to sit, inside and out. They even spelled my name right on the cup, and with beautiful penmanship. A nice touch : )

Good coffee, nice atmosphere, strong wifi, great music. Theres nice seating outside and inside. It is also spacious enough that you can make phone calls without distracting other guests. The only drawback is that it is pretty expensive. Pour over coffee ranges from $4 to $4.50.

Fantastic coffee, excellent prices, amazing service- Id give this place more stars if I could. My only wish is that it wasnt on the other side of town of me. Even with the distance, I would come here which is saying a lot given the number of coffee shops. Easily 4 stars.

As a fellow barista, this is one of my favorite cafes to frequent when Im not working. I always order the guest espresso, but dont be afraid of their stranger items (read: Americola, its p good. On shift Ive dumped espresso into all sorts of things, so trust me.)

This place! Im in DC twice a year and I stop by each time. Do yourself a favor and get a pour-over while youre here. You wont be disappointed. Eclectic and cozy interior with some nice outdoor seating in a neighborhood setting. And yes, theres WiFi.
