I went *early* in the night, when there was hardly anyone there except for the KJ & his friends playing cards. :-D I asked about karaoke, and the KJs friends were very amicable in encouraging me to turn in music to perform. I wound up performing about four or five songs as the crowd slowly built later in the evening. I capped it off with "Kiss" by Prince played in an odd key, but the crowd was dancing and singing along. Got a "Well done!" by the crowd at the end. Overall, I enjoyed my experience here. The only drawback is that the KJ is a bit strict about the location of the books, which are on a table at the front door. (Leave em there!) Obviously, this spot can get somewhat claustrophobic as some folks parked there to work up the courage to actually perform.

A real dive in the best sense of the word. Enter into this subterranean hovel and your first though it "Why the heck am I here?" Then you order strong cheap drinks and take in one of the best karaoke environments and all of a sudden you are having a great time and not even thinking about the dank surroundings. This place is not for the pretentious or people looking for a high end establishment. This is for people who just want to cut loose, sing loud, and have a cracking good time.

This place has four floors (was it three?) and an outside porch upstairs. Karaoke was only on the first floor. The other floors just played fun music. I had fun and would totally go back. I didnt see any roaches, but I also didnt see any food there. also, I keep trying to rate this place four stars and it just keeps showing 5. Weird.

Great spot for karaoke! Went on a Friday night and they also had a regular dj on the second floor spinning hits, so it was nice to sing and dance whenever we wanted to. Drinks decent price as well. Nice 4th floor on the roof to hang too!

Place is great to have a great time with friends with a great atmosphere. Just BS you have to tip the "DJ" 20 bucks so you can have a chance to actually sing at the Karaoke place.

This is by far my favorite bar in DC. It is a dive bar and a karaoke bar all in one. I love this place.
