Was in town with wife and children for a Friday and Saturday jaunt to the local museums and National Mall. My son really loves Chinese, and since we were staying local to China Town it was an easy choice. After reviewing several sites for best Chinese food we settled on Eat First. I can say, definitively Im not impressed. I was willing to forego the decorum as previously mentioned by other posters, but the food was OK at best. My bill came to 96.00 for what I can get at my local Chinese restaurant in DE for about 40.00 I would say the food was no better than the Chinese we get at our local "Americanized" Chinese location, whatever that means, as they are certainly Chinese people creating the dishes. Between the bland atmosphere and the ok food, I wouldnt go again.

Do not go to this place - there are so many good choices in Chinatown! The food was disgusting, made lazy way. The meat in my Szechuan chicken was bad and tasted like tripe. they didnt even bother putting the little fried peppers, but instead put the red pepper paste. I am not against substitutions, as long as it tastes good. this was not the case - old meat with other ingredients not properly prepared. It was terrible!!! And there are so many places in Chinatown I could go to to for lunch instead!!! The tea was so old and tasted nasty. The ingredients in the vegetable soup were very basic (only carrots, napa cabbage and bean sprouts, plus a single slice of a canned mushroom), and it wasnt much.

well i cant review the food since i never got it. after an hour of half waiting for the food i finally call the place and the guy tells me the driver is on his way. i wait another 30 minuets or more. still no food. its now 10:10 pm. i call the place back and the guy says he doesnt know and has to call the diver and hangs up on me. call again for the 3rd time and they guy says driver is not picking up. i tell him why didnt you tell me that before so i can order from somewhere eels. they guy says if i do not like it i shouldnt order from there anymore.

They have a poor ability to understand English. Waiter should always confirm exactly what youve ordered. I agree I pointed to the wrong item on the menu but I did say the correct item I wanted. The waiter however ignored what I said and ordered what I pointed to. One of the two items I pointed To I wanted the other was a misunderstanding. However she got them both wrong. The food was ok. But the waiter need a little more training. I order wonton noodle soup. She said it has pork. When I got it it had no pork. I didnt eat it.

This place looks bad period. But I got convinced by the list of awards it has won. The food turned our to be authentic and price is very reasonable. I ended up eating there every day for my trip. (Note I am chinese myself). My husband argues that this place is only good for real chinese. But there are many americans eating there. He also tried an american chinese dish and it was better than the 618 place next door.

We visited DC over the weekend and had lunch over there. The Chinese restaurant that we usually visited in Chinatown was jammed. So we picked this one. What a disappointment. Let me put it this way, we have had much better Chinese food in other places. The kids Kung Pao Chicken was cold. The Gravy/source on my "authentic" Chinese dish was way too heavy.

sorry to say, but if you are not chinese or if you grew up in american (american born or came here very young). this place is NOT for you. I dont care how much you THINK you know about chinese food, this is NOT for you. Unless you have spent a lot of time living oversea, please go to your normal americanized chinese food restaurant.

Dont let the look of the place fool you. This is a great place to get some really good (and cheap) Chinese food. You get the food fast, it is well made and there is plenty of it. Service was good the 2. times I was there. Highly recomended.

This place is hands down awesome! I have been to Chinatown plenty of times. Some places are more flashy, others have big signs-- all disappointments. Finally a place with great prices, very clean, fast service. This place is our new go to spot!

We go here all the time because we like the food, as of late the service has gone to hell! Nasty attitude, rushing as if were taking too much time to order.....its amazing how they talk to you. Maybe its culture, but they have no respect!

Recommended by out tour bus guide, service was quick, probably because it was about 4:30 and the place was empty. The food was just wonderful! and authentic!! The interior of the place needs a serious remodel.

Our order arrived so fast, I thought the chef was psychic. Best egg foo yung and wanton soup weve ever had. We Leo had Triple Delight with beef, chicken and shrimp with many perfectly cooked veggies.

As Cantonese, I can say that the noodle with won ton and beef brisket make me feel just like home. The shrimp in won ton is so fresh, even at 9pm, indicating that they make them freshly daily.

Delicous & flavorful food! Menu has pleanty of options and includes both familiar and novel dishes. Quick service and clean location. We ordered beef & broccoli and black bean chicken.

在美国这么多天来吃到的比较地道的港式餐厅 特别推荐烧鸭

Reasonably priced. Ubiquitous taste (just as good or better than your usual Chinese joint). Service took awhile but it WAS Chinese New Year lol. Homey feeling. Friendly staff.

AM

Excellent authentic Cuban cuisine! Dont let the area fool you, its not the most scenic of places but the food is hands down better than the other upscale Latin restaurants.

CO

Great selection. Typical Hong Kong and asian rice and noodle dishes. Relatively cheap. I can recommend the seafood tofu claypot and the eggplant with pork mince.

I did not like my experience here at all. The food wa nasty and I would honestly never recommend this place to anyone. Too over priced for food that doesnt take good

I came here as a tourist, seeking google for reviews. Never fails; the food was really great! Service was about as much as a Texas girl can ask of a DC waiter.

JO

Good food. Get a clay pot for a warm and tasty lunch. The atmosphere and decor are cheap and worn, however, and the cleanliness is "aspirational" at best.

DA

Dan Koev

Food is good and cheap, but the service was rude. Waitress told me I had "forgotten" to give her a tip before I had finished my meal.

MI

Michaela Khan

Great prices! Big portion size for the chicken and shrimp lo mein although was quite light on the chicken. Tasted great though!

BR

Brad Sanderson

The bathrooms were disgusting. Server seemed angry we were there and treated us with hostility. Admittedly the food was decent.

TR

Trenton Marsolek

Great food, very nice owner, shabby decor. Overall 4/5 stars, really delicious, authentic Cantonese food at Chinese prices.

LA

Larry Daffin

It may have been a great experience in 2007, but not anymore - felt/tasted like going to the mall for Chinese food

GO

Walked into the restaurant, and as soon as we sat down the napkins were dirty and the silverware. Instantly left.
