The staff is polite and courteous. The food is delicious, but I get tired of onions always being in the green beans. I like green beans plain, but I may be the only one. Kylie (5046) was on the register and there was a long, long line moving very slow, when it became our turn we found out why. She wouldnt accept we just wanted to have water for our drinks, she told us all the drinks that were available. We didnt appreciate her going through the whole list trying to sell us drinks. This made everyone in line have to wait a longer time than was necessary. So we were not happy about it. The middle hopper in Womens restroom flushes so hard water sprays all over the seat and even though you try to dry off the seat you still get wet from it. Dont really appreciate it. Hope you wanted the truth because there it is in a nutshell.

What an amazing experience here, Im from Maryland and I can say I have never experienced old country buffet until I came here. It started from the Unbelievably helpful, inviting and pleasant LORAINE, who not only provided great cashiering service but took it a step further by giving an impromptu tour and explained how to navigate the food area; And it continued from there, the server Gusthoff was great, he was attentive and just as poliet. I travel a lot and buffets are a cheap option for me. I would like to request that LORAINE be transfered to the CATONSVILLE, MD location and work her magic there.. They could use an example of a true food industry money maker.. Seriously.. They need it, NIGHT AND DAY.. Thank you LORAINE AND GUSTHOFF and to the staff of the Newark, Delaware location on newchurchmans rd.

Old country buffet is falling off , I know the USDA, FDA, CDC whoever have temperature control regulations ,but DAMN can you at least turn up the heat a little on the food, and that Mac n cheese is straight horrible, just some nasty can cheese sauce on some big noodles, and the breaded fish not fully cooked in side ,yall are just dumping precanned and prepackaged food into serving pans and adding water no flavor what so ever , the chicken is the best thing, Im going to try breakfast and if that sucks too, Im done with old nasty buffet, and I will warn others, bring back the old hometown if yall cant get yall act together, families love buffets, but we wont keep coming if the food is nasty just because its cheap ,-

I use to work there let me in form you on how contaninated the food is there. 1 they get big pics of meat and sit them in a sink by the back door where we walk the trash out. 2 They half wash the silver ware you eat off. 3 the floor has a grayish slime on it. 4 the food is some times poorly stored. 5 the clean plates and sliver ware is stored under the dish washer where there are left over food and water that drips on the plates. 6 whIle I was working there they failed a heath inspection and had to chang some things with in that week to pass. (FYI after they passed things wentry back to the way things were.) Now I cant speak for any other old country but the Christiana one in de is unbelievably dirty.

I eat at many restaurants during the month. This is the only place that doesnt have what I call the server gaze (looking anywhere but where you are). The entire staff will look straight at you smile and have a friendly greeting (from the manager to the staff that stocks the serving area). They are efficient friendly and make you feel that they want to be there and are happy you came to their house... The food, beverages, and desserts are always fresh and enjoyable to eat. I visit OCB several times a month and I plan to keep coming back. To top it all off the discount coupons and “for purchase savings books” make the entire experience simply over the top. Keep up the good work.

It is amazing to me that this restaurant stays in business. If your goal is to fill up on GROSS AND MEDIOCRE food, this is the place for you. IF YOU WANT GOOD QUALITY FOOD, THIS IS NOT THE PLACE TO GO. On 1-7-17 we visited here, my chicken breast was under cooked with blood showing next to the bone. I asked the dining room attendant to please tell the manager, I believe he could not understand English. For the next ten minutes he never contacted anyone. The napkins and soda were good, that is about all. Other friends told me not to go here because of the terrible quality food, NOW I WILL FOLLOW THAT ADVICE. DONT THROW YOUR MONEY AWAY, STAY AWAY, I WILL NEVER TO BACK.

We go often. It is very clean, the food is always great, and the managers work as hard as the rest of the staff. The managers do whatever needs doing including moping, filling the ice bins, etc. Most of the staff is the same as when we first started going. Cons: They removed the spice rack and I always have to ask for Wischister Sauce (?sp). If there is a long line there is still only one cashier when several managers are walking around washing counters. Standing in line in the cold should be the first concern.

Enjoyed the buffet at a family night.. was very lively.. not like a restaurant ambience had a feel of enjoying buffet at a friends wedding dinner, so crowded .. that was really good. but the breakfast bar guy is lil unfriendly ..service s good otherwise..had to mention about the deserts .. its the best in Newark.. carrot cake n pecan pie.. mmm yummy .. though jambalaya was lil bland , mac n cheese - gave a taste of home touch thoroughly enjoyed. ll be visiting again .. :)happy fooding :)

So fun story... I went here with my baby son who could not walk and was sleeping in his car carrier. They told me he needed shoes. Well, he had socks but could not walk, so we hadnt bothered binding his feet in shoes. Anyway, it didnt matter that he couldnt walk. No shoes, no service. We had to leave and havent been back. I have a family of 6 and my son is now 15. They lost a lot of years of business.

I went there today for mothers day breakfast and it was crowded and the food was still delicious and our waitress was sweet and made sure our table was cleared in a timely manner. The manager Doris definitely knows what hes doing! The staff were all great and the food was amazing. Best OCB Ive ever been to! And Ill definitely be back with more friends and family!

Now its not a 5 star Michelin, but as far as a family buffet goes its the best Ive been to. We were down in Christiana with our nephews this past winter and they really enjoyed it. Weve done Breakfasts & Dinners with no complaints, quite to the contrary. The staff is very responsive and energetic, the options are wide open and the management runs a tight ship.

This used to be our favorite place to eat and we went often. I brought many people there and they all loved it. Around 2 years ago they changed their menu, dropped several of their popular items and must have changed cooks as the food is just not that good anymore. It is quite disappointing when a business does this and we almost never go there anymore.
