My wife and I have driven past this restaurant for several years and were very excited to try it. I made reservations for this Valentines Day and surprised her. Once she knew where we were going she was excited as well. After arriving and being seated quickly, our waitress came to our table. She was very short with us - I figured she was just busy, took our drink order and said she would be back. 10 mins later she arrived with our drinks (but no water, we had to request it). At this point she took our appetizer and meal order. The drinks were affordable, and tasted great! The bread we ate while waiting was very good as well. To get quickly to the point, we waited over an hour with nothing - not even a water refill - between our appetizers and our food. I had to get up from the table and wave another waitress down and explain to her we hadnt eaten yet. Meanwhile tables around us had come and gone. Our food came out about 15 mins after I said something. The food was wonderful, and the manager came over and apologized and said she would comp our drinks. An apology is good, so we continued eating. While eating we overheard a waitress at a different table introduce herself. She continued telling her table about several Valentines Day specials not on the menu that our waitress never even mentioned. In fact, when she talked to us at all, which was rare she was abrupt and just seemed bothered. At this point, we just felt we needed to thank management for giving us the drinks free, but explain this was our first time and the service from our particular waitress was just bad. We had the manager come to the table. I thanked her and explained the situation. I said we would love to come back but overall for our first time this was just a negative experience. Her response was, "It is a holiday and we tend to get overwhelmed. Probably not the best idea to come your first time on a holiday." We were floored. She literally told us not to come to the restaurant, because they get overwhelmed on a holiday. Then she told us dessert was on the house, but walked away before the conversation was over. I feel like we gave them several chances, and I am even open to going back with another clear apology that takes some ownership for the mistakes. The food was wonderful, but we were there for 2 1/2 hours just to get pasta. We sat for over an hour without a refill of water or any bread. When they did refill water they left empty glasses on the table. It was not just unimpressive, it was bad. We hope to find a local restaurant that we can support for nights like this, but at this point this is NOT it.

This was 2nd to worst dining experience EVER. Reservations were made and my out of town family visiting and we was stuck in what I call the dungeon room-no windows, no music and AC blasting. Our server-AWFUL. She came out complaining about her work and what she is having to do and that she is so tired. REALLY? She took some of our plates before we were even done and the kicker was the check. She dropped off the check and no more that 2 minutes later was she back to get it. We told her we were not done. She kept coming back into the room fiddling around with things in the room to see if we were done. We asked for the manager-HORRIBLE! What kind manager bends over your table like an outfield catcher. He defended his waitress to his last breath and basically said we were out of line. He thought that he did us a favor by putting us in the dungeon. He kept repeating- "I dont see what the problem is". I recommend this restaurant if you are up for a fight with the wait staff and most surprisingly...the manager. The service experience over wrote the fairly good food. The salad is pathetic though.

One of our most favorite places to eat in this area, always have had a wonderful experience. This time unfortunately was the opposite. The waitress was extremely inattentive considering we were the the only table in the restaurant. She seemed more preoccupied with some sort of drug exchange she had going on outside. Literally bringing in people to give them money(in front of us) then watching them go back to there sketchy car that pulled around the back and front a dozen times. (This is speculation of course, but we are not idiots, and they did not even make an attempt to hide it.)The food was ok but as far as the overall experience compared to the countless times we have been here. HORRIBLE. It needs to go back to how it was.

The service and the food were both amazing! I have driven by here for years, always contemplating going for dinner, but never making plans until tonight. It was one of the best dining experiences my wife and I have had in quite awhile. The fresh pulled fried mozzarella was excellent, and the chicken parmesan was absolutely amazing! The entire bill for my wife and I was less than $50. More than an acceptable price for such great food. And on top of that our server Val was definitely a bright spot in our dining experience. We will definitely make sure to come back again and to tell all our friends just how great the service and food both are. A big thank you to Val for such wonderful service!

Seafood marinara comes with 1 scallop
2 shrimp, 2 clams and a lot of mussels & calamari (which are VERY inexpensive compared to real seafood) EVERYTHING IS AN EXTRA CHARGE! We were told having any sause on pasta as a side was extra. Capers are an extra charge on veal picante! You can't even get a discount on a Caesar salad as a sub for the house salad - its a full price charge! We were asked if we had reserv. at 5:50 pm, said no and were told ALL the booths were reserved. So we were seated at a wobbly table in the middle of the dining room getting bumped into by servers as we stared at empty booths all around us. Never again!!!!

Lived in Delaware for about 5yrs. now but, never noticed this place. It was actually a last minute decision that ended up being a life saver for me. My wife and I meet every Wednesday for lunch but, this day we could not, she decided we would then do dinner. I totally forgot to book a reservation. When we got home and she asked where dinner would be I immediately got my Ipad2 and Roma popped up. I give them 5 stars because the food was EXCELLENT!!! The waitress Savannah was CORDIAL and wonderful. This is our new place of dining. I strongly recommend ROMA Italian Restaurant to the world!!! Oooh and the garlic oil is out of this world delicious.

My family and friends tried Roma for the first time ever last night and by this morning half of my party is so sick, they cant even get out of bed. I will NEVER return there again. The service was mediocre, we saw the busboy clearing our plates and refilling our drinks more than the waitress. Because we were a party of 6 (3 adults and 3 kids) they tacked on a 20% gratuity. Not deserved but we just paid it and left because it was getting late. This is not somewhere I will be going again and will be telling friends and family to stay away from it as well.
