Young man seating us was obnoxious to me but friendly to some. As we were being seated I ask him how long they had been at that location and he says a while and I tell him I use to go to them when they were on east main street and didnt realize they had moved. He then says "where have u been"?its the tone he used ..too friendly and very sarcastic. As our food was arriving I thought it was my order so I said foods here but it was my friends but he quickly said to me"shhh calm down over there" ..not a respectful way to treat a paying customer. His mannerism was totally uncalled for and a huge turnoff. Stamford today is full of fine restaurants and very good service. If it were up to me I would have left and gone someplace else but we were a party of 6 celebrating a co workers last day at work and it was her pick..so I had to stay. Also I ordered the pasta with chicken and broccoli..the broccoli really needed cleaning because most of my bites were gritty..so I left all the broccoli out and ate the grilled chicken which was good with the penne.i would have said something but didnt want to deal with his smart mouth so just left it at that. A food place is not made up of only the food..its the ppl that make it or break it..for me it was a distasteful experience.

I love cocktails and small plates on the patio with my girlfriends! (the restaurant is not in the strip mall anymore, but overlooking Mill River Park.) Other days I bring my kids to the playground or the carousel and stop in afterwards for pizza. (or we do takeout and have a picnic in the park.) They love watching Francisco make their pizzas. Parking is easy and the place is beautiful! The pizza bar is great for kids. The bar is great, especially on Thursdays with live music, and the dining room is spacious and elegant. The food is so good! And so many gluten free options!!! Pizza, pasta, and if its not busy, theyll make me fried calamari with gluten free flour! Ive been to Villa Italia for family dinners, girls night out, bridal showers, birthday parties, and holiday parties. Special occasion or delivery on a hectic night, Villa is always a good idea! Love this place!

Will never go there again!!!!!!!! I was there last night with my husband and my friends. I called earlier and made reservation for dinner, party of 5. I asked for a round table near the window. I was assured its no problem. When we got there we were sitted at that table. The waitress came over and took our drink order. Shortly after the manager or maybe an owner came over and asked us to move. I was surprised and said to her, that i called and made reservation for that table. She said: " is your name Chris??" I said no, and she said, then you will need to move". I was so embarrased !!! We spend over $250. That was the last time there!!!!! Never again!!!!!!!!!!!

I went there last night with my husband for our date night and the special which was the beef tips with brocolli rabe and roasted potatoes was absolutely awful. The meat was very chewy and rough and had absolutely no flavor to it. Its diner quality food. I would NEVER go back there. The waiters constantly want to take your plate away while they see you are still eating which we were laughing about. My husband ordered the spaghetti with meatballs and there was hardly any sauce on the spaghetti. This was apaling and I would highly recommend people not to go there. The restaurants on bedford avenue are way better than this.

Somewhat difficult to find, my advice is "Dont bother." Arriving in Stamford after a half day of travel, I chose to believe the reviews and the website indicating the hours the restaurant was open. Arriving perhaps a bit early (3:20) and being initially told by the hostess tbat they were open, I was subsequently told the cooks were on break and couldnt be botheref till after 4 PM. If this was indication of their customer service, I figured the food was likely consistent - prepared without regard to the patron

Defines neighborhood Italian. We lived a few blocks away from this restaurant for over ten years, run by two sisters from Italy. They have become good friends of ours. We have been regulars there and it is a great, welcoming place in the classic neighborhood style. Great specials, homemade bread, excellent salads and fine service. But we worry that it will become too popular---the concern regulars always have about a favorite!

My wifes family and I love this place. Being married into an Italian Family, I didnt get the culture of sitting around for hours while you eat good food, wine and have great conversation. We have loved this place since they were cross town by the taco bell. Now the space is beautiful, parking is so much easier, and the food and service are every bit as good as it was back then. Youre never rushed.

Great food, good location on the river. Street parking is easy. The place is massive inside, with a good sized bar. Personal pizzas are available and the management is very friendly. The prices are a bit steep, but everywhere in Stamford is. They are open for lunches, and also do catering if you need a tray of Chicken Parm or similar.

I think this is officially my favorite Italian restaurant in Stamford! I Stopped in here starving at 9:30 PM on a Saturday night, and was so unbelievably pleasantly surprised. The food, service, and atmosphere were all so excellent. Our party of 6 was accommodated well, and the food was absolutely delicious.

We chose this restaurant based on the previous reviews, and Villa Italia definitely lived up to its name. The food and service was excellent. I love family owned and operated places, and this is definitely a place to sit, relax, and eat with a cozy ambiance.

We come from Hartford to enjoy the food at Villa Italia. Excellent bread, soups, pasta (red sauce is fabulous), fish, and desserts! The price is not outrageous, either. This is my favorite Italian Restaurant in Connecticut.

Been dining there for nearly 30 years from when we lived down the street. ALWAYS fabulous and authentically wonderful Italian cooking. The new location is amazing too, but with same great food and service.

I was completely surprised to find this restaurant. It is located within the hotel and its in a quiet part of town. However the food is worth it. The atmosphere and decor is elegant. nice family place.

Weve eaten at their restaurants for over 30 years. They have superb Italian food with a family touch. The mother still makes the pasta by hand. Never been disappointed. Weekends require reservations.
