3 - Today is Tuesday April 19th and I returned to have lunch. I spoke to one of the owners and relayed my experience from April 8th in Westbrook and dinner at the Norwalk location on April 14th. They all were very receptive and appreciated that I gave them another try. It was well worth it, I went with one of my friends who is very particular about food being good and fresh. We enjoyed everything. It was all awesome. I recommend this place not just because the food was good but the Customer Service was exceptional.. 2 - Update- When I told the Waiter I didnt enjoy my food and I didnt finish it, he took the dinner off and gave me a free dessert. Thats beyond what I expected and I didnt even ask. Thats good customer service! 1- Friday April 8th my Aunt n I had lunch at the Westbrook location. The food was exceptional, my hard to please Aunt took a doggie bag and polished off hers the next day and kept raving how good it was. I rarely finish all my food but I ate it all. When our waiter told us there was one in Norwalk I was so excited to try it since it was closer to my house. Well, I was disappointed, everything was so salty, mash potatoes taste like they came from a box. Even the presentation was no were near as nice as Westbrook. Like this restaurant but in Westbrook, yuck for Norwalk

My family and I were looking for tapas and we came across Bistro on yelp. So glad we did! The dining room is huge and beautifully laid out with the bar are up front. We were seated by the windows in a cozy area surrounded by wine bottles from floor to cieling. Our waiter was so helpful with the menu in recommended the quantity of dishes to order and the components of the dishes. We were completely familiar with the ingredients list in full, but he was able to help us pick our assortment. Three of us ordered 5 dishes which was perfect for our hunger level. Two of our favorites included the Croquetas de Bacalao and Calamares a la Plancha. I loved the white bean and tomato side dish with the Calamares the most! In fact, almost all our tapas came with generous portions of side dishes of beans, or vegetables that were seasoned to perfection. We finishe off our meal with fantastic dessert which changes on the menu and some after dinner drinks selected by the staff. It was such a perfect pair to our desserts. I cannot say enough nice things about the staff at Bistro. They were so kind and helpful to my family over the course of the night. Id return with a group anytime were looking for some place special. Went there for a late-ish dinner yesterday. The food was mediocre. I had the beef tartare and chorizo tapas, my wife had a salad with veal arugula and greens. The beef was too cold and not very flavorful, the chorizo sauce - a reduction of sherry maybe with some fig - was sweet but didnt have much character. The veal was passable, but not especially tender or tasty. The wine was good - Muga Reserva - but at $55 overpriced. The service was shabby. The waiters were in a hurry (why? there werent many other people there.) It wasnt language - my wife speaks very good Spanish - but they couldnt be bothered to listen. The bread guy ran to our table, dropped a cold, dry heel of a piece of bread on my wifes bread plate and bustled away. I had high hopes for a good meal since other locations for this restaurant got good write-ups from the NY Times and other sources. Bottom line = an expensive disappointment. I could have gotten a better meal for the same money at Barcelona or Mediteraneo or other local places. Maybe they were having a bad night, but Im afraid this is another doomed restaurant at this seemingly jinxed location. Wont go back.

I was excited for a Spain-styled tapas bar for lunch. To their credit, they were open at an off lunch hour. The food was fresh, but they had several daily specials that were either out or they made a change without checking. The scallop and strawberry salad mysteriously became scallop and mango, and gazpacho became salmon carpachio. They were out of the ceviche, but had nothing chilled to offer in its place. Portions are good, and service was friendly, but flavors were uninspired.

Me and two companions ordered food. They came back missing my food. We were all certain that i made my order clear to the waiter. We waited for my food to come after my friends were done eating, and waiter gave me the stink eye from across the room for the rest of the evening there. I was not even rude or anything.

Was driving by saw the Happy Hour specials! Had to stop. Wow half off tapas, and $3 beer this is a great deal. Go in between 330-6 during the week and try out the mouth watering food. Very attentive staff as well definitely one of my favorite places now.

Hands down the best meal Ive had in years!!! From the tapas to the main course I was pleasantly surprised how amazing this place was. It is a must try! Ill definitely be coming back!
