The shoe is a Southport classic, great place to stop and grab a drink. They have live music sometimes as well. Southport in general doesnt feel very much like the rest of Fairfield which can feel unwelcoming or unfriendly towards minorities. The shoe definitely circumvents that negative feeling, for me at least. I may also have a biased experience as Im only ever there visiting friends! Big fan of this little place!

"The Shoe" is such an outlier in the WASPy, New England village of Southport Center, and I say that with all due respect. The crowd is blue collar, blue hairs, blue blazers; commuters stopping for a cold one (Metro North station is a few blocks away). The jukebox is the best around, pool table, darts, great juicy burgers, too.
