Portions are not overly large, and the prices are moderate. The service is excellent, and the food is delicious - excellent breakfast place. Come early to avoid what could be a long wait. If you have a big appetite, make sure you have a budget to match. Breakfast averages $10-15/pp. I had freshly made quiche with asparagus and tomato. The crust was flakey and the egg was fluffy. I also had a side of corned beef hash which was quite good, obviously made in their own kitchen. Onions and/or green pepper would have taken it to the next level. Even so, it was quite tasty. The coffee is also good, and fresh, and they will keep your cup full. Overall, I would return, again - even though its 25 minutes from home. Sometimes you need something different - and Harvest Café & Bakery fills the bill.

I hate to write this but yesterday was just too much to be quiet about. I am hoping the new owner takes heed. This is meant to constructive criticism. First off smile when you are behind the counter. At least say hello to customers you dont know. I am a fellow Chippanee member. Yesterday my wife, Got 1/2 dozen hrs small , had 2 that were barely big enough to hold a one bite sandwich. I have gotten several lately ITS large with huge holes. My wife got 1/2 doz donuts yesterday, ordered 2 powered crullers, 2 chocolate glazed, 1 custard, 1 choco peanut butter. She got 2 cinnamon crullers. Came home to find out the mistake. No biggie. I will be back but Marty would never let then quality suffer WRONG BAKERY HAD A H/E/C HARDROLL SANDWICH IN JUNE TOTALLY AWESOM

Heard this place was great, couldnt get near it on a weekend due to lines out the door. Went a few weeks ago for breakfast during the week. Nothing memorable here, forgot what I even ordered. My companion was not impressed with their food either. There were maybe 3 tables eating in the place yet no one came to check on us. Was not offered a refill on coffee until after we had asked for our check, which placed it right at the crossroads of too little and too late. Not sure if people line up here because its one of the only places around serving breakfast besides McDs, but I would not wait in line for the breakfast I had there.

We were seated almost immediately despite arriving at noon on a Saturday. Bottomless coffee and tea AND the Boston Globe make this great for a lazy Sunday morning. The grilled cornbread on the western was delicious and not too sweet, an easy trap to fall into with cornbread! Their wheat toast was also impressive and tasted homemade. Their bread products were so good we splurged on dessert, a carrot cupcake. The frosting was buttery and smooth without being greasy, and had a marshmallow-like lightness to it. Again, great job not being overly sweet and letting some of the savory aspects of the carrot and spice come through!

This has been such a fabulous place for breakfast and lnch, and rocketed to success, that I hate to see it fall from its pedestal. But thats the truth. Not just once or twice on super busy days. Im talking 5 or 6 really sub par performances. Sluggish semi rude waitstaff (far from the norm here, and the mgmt should take notice) and ingredients that are not fresh, and prepared poorly. Drinks that taste bad. Things tasting like the grill needs cleaning. Wake up and live up to your ratings guys! We want to see you succeed!

Great food. Wonderful service. Often there is a bit of a wait, but its worth it. And while you wait you can browse the good assortment of delicious breads, quiches, cookies, pies, cakes, and cupcakes in their cases. They serve home style breakfast done really well - fresh ingredients, a nice mix of standards and specials, and attentive service. They are one of the few local places whose pancakes I like and they have crispy breakfast potatoes. They serve lunch items too. Try their soups. And they cater.

The food was very good and the serving size was Decent. Lots of choices for all types of preference. The pricing is high.. $30 for 2 omelets, 1 soda and a corn muffin. The staff was interesting to say the least. The woman at the cash register was "in another world" as were many of the wait staff. Not quick. The only good worker was a middle aged gentlemen, I am assuming he is the owner. If he didnt constantly tell the other staff what to do, it appeared nothing would get done.

I come here for breakfast whenever I can find an occasion! Ive been with my boyfriend, my mother, Ive pretty much taken the majority of my friends and family. Although it is true that the line is often out the door- the classic food options are totally worth it. I also often pick up muffins for my family in the morning- it is quicker and portable and theyre variety of flavors (my favorites: peach, apple, coffee cake, and peanut butter chocolate chip) are OH SO DELICIOUS.

I have been here many, many times and I have never had a bad experience. The cleanliness of the eating area and the friendliness of the staff are exactly in line with what I expect from a quality, local eatery. This is not molecular gastronomy, folks. This is a diner with hot coffee and some of the best eggs Benedict that I have had in years. Seriously, these guys can poach the hell out of an egg. And I havent even talked about the bakery! Just go.

Always amazing. I had Creme Brule french toast with fresh strawberries & fresh whip cream. Scott is funny & gracious always, making sure to greet each customer & go out of his way to wish you a healthy good bye, requesting you come again soon. Small town feel in Simsbury. Can be a bit pricey but the food is always great & portions are more than sufficient.

Fantastic spot for breakfast, though not the most inexpensive option. Family-friendly, they have a kids menu that doubles as a picture to color and display on their wall. Eggs Benedict is consistently delicious, and the corned beef hash is made fresh daily. Fresh-baked breads and scones compliment the meal. The waitstaff is friendly and attentive.

Harvest is great for breakfast. There is a long line but if you live close they are great with take out. We get the take out a lot so we get the great food without the wait. I have not had their lunch but I have heard it is excellent as well. It is pricy but we usually do not eat lunch after a breakfast here so it is like getting two meals.

EXCELLENT food, staff and service. We hosted our god-daughters graduation party and suggested our friends use Harvest Cafe. This was our THIRD TIME using HC and we can truly say THERE IS NO BETTER place that provides such a level of TOP-SHELF FOOD and SERVICE. Once again... THANK YOU KIM and STAFF. mic n lilly, canton ct

this is the best place for breakfast in the Hartford area. Fresh breads, on site bakery, omelets and specialties and a great, friendly atmosphere. There is a small counter area and tables - it can look crowded when you walk in but the wait is worth it and they do a great job of getting you seated quickly. Dont miss it!

Harvest Cafe has great food with top nop notch ingrediants. The Specials are always creative making the menu almost obsolete. The staff is friendly and the Manger/owner always checks in with you to make sure you are being served well. On weekends get there early, there is always a line but its worth it.
