The owners are from Napoli, the chef Sergio, is exceptional. The ambience of a quaint home nestled in the town of Sherman, CT makes for a romantic get-away any time of year. His wife Louisa greets you with a warm smile and makes sure that you feel welcomed. The best part is that when you step into the restaurant, the aromas of the cooking bring back memories of home long ago, when mom or grandma were cooking. If you are looking for an over the top meal, where the pasta is not from a box but made fresh and the sauces, fish, and meats have incredible flavor, do not miss this great spot. We highly recommend the Mussels Fra Diavolo with Roasted Garlic, after you are done eating them, you want to ‘dunk’ the home -made Italian bread in the remaining sauce… its incredible! This is a hidden gem, away from all the hussle-bussle of other area restaurants, which makes it perfect spot to dine.

Over the past few weeks I went to Amore a few times. When Im alone I sit at the bar which is an extremely limited area. No mixed drinks, only wine and beer which is fine for me. Some nights they have the wine I liked the week before, more often they are out of it. This last time I stopped in, the waiter who seemed to run the show was gone. Apparently he quit. A new person was there and was dismissive. I has to ask for a menu. I had to ask for them to take my drink order. I had to ask to take my food order. I ended up leaving after the drink. The waiter asked "I hope I didnt do something to cause you not to order." I said no, but yes the wait staff are just not very good. I only order the pizza because their pasta just isnt very good either. I only go there because its close and convenient, but more recently Id rather drive a little farther and get better service and better food.

So far this has been The Best Italian Restaurant i have ever eaten on. I highly recommend this place. I had been in many italian restaurants but in this one you can taste the traditional cuisine, the delicacy if taste and flavor is amazing, with each bite the flavor does not go away. This lace is 1.5 hours away from where I live but I have gladly returned to this place and i will return again. Best Italian restaurants i have been on.

I ordered the large pizzas to go and was very disappointed. The pizza was thin and hard and there was hardly any cheese or sauce. I asked for buffalo mozzarella and again I was disappointed, this cheese was no fresher than any mozzarella I can buy in any store. The toppings were sparse and tasteless. I do not see any thing special about this restaurant and I would not recommend it at all. I was over charged and underwhelmed.

I grew up eating my moms homemade Italian food. This place hits the authenticity of the taste and style that I grew up on. Its all about the sauce and they nailed it. Plus the service is great and prices are reasonable. Dont hesitate to try it, you will not regret it.

I feel like I am in Venice. This is the REAL Italian food, authentic. The first week we discovered this place, we ate here 4 times, and every meal was just as good as the day one. MAGNIFICO, best Italian in the COUNTRY for my bood.

Hands down the best fried Mozzarella sticks anywhere in Connecticut! Handmade from start to finish! Pizza is good too. Had one with bacon, The Bacon was nice and crispy. Not bad for a New England pie!!!
