Finally, an answer to, "Where do I take a date who lives in the Valley besides a bar where it looks like well both be stabbed/kidnapped?" Sure, its in a strip mall near a Stop & Shop, which doesnt exactly scream romance. But you know what it does scream? Very good sushi at a very good price. Whats not to like? We were seated immediately though it was a bit awkard cause my date was a tad late and I had reservations and they were all, "Well those are your two options QUICK PICK ONE" and Im like geez either way. We sat down and ordered and I have to say they were fast. Almost TOO fast. I dont know if theres some sort of mind-reading device going on here and if so, I fear for the people who looked too deep into my consciousness. The edamame was decent, and the sushi was quite good. We ordered two regular rolls and a special roll. All extremely reasonably priced, which is more rare than ever in the sushi industry (Big Sushi?). We did have to ask for soy sauce which was a little weird, but hey, we all make mistakes. No biggie. The decor was tasteful... perhaps a bit... neon. But eh, not everybody shares my minimalist aesthetic. Still, the service was polite and fast, mostly good, and the sushi was excellent -- especially at this price point. If thats not good enough for you, then cool, I guess youre better than me, Im surprised you can even read this review from your fancy boat.

This place USED to be my go to asian restaurant for good chinese!! It wont be anymore!! They must have hired a new chef and hes terrible!! Ive given this place several tries and all were epic fails!! Last night was the straw that broke the camels back. My chicken and broccoli was tasteless and not even cooked throughly....Yuck... They get 2 stars because of the quick delivery....Id trade it for the long wait it used to be because my food was cooked! Below is my OLD REVIEW from a year ago... I order from red lotus on a regular basis. It is one of the best Asian restaurants Ive ever tasted!! Food is delish....The prices are high but the food is definitely worth it. The tempura sauce is to die for! Its very yummy!!!!!

If money were no object, Id eat here regularly. While on the higher side of pricey, their food quality makes up for it tremendously. I have eaten here a handful of times and have never once been disappointed with my meal. Theyre conveniently located on Bridgeport Ave, and they make some excellent dishes. Even their sushi is fantastic. As I mentioned, theyre pricey. Probably a bit too much so - but you get what you pay for. When the local Chinese place can ask $45 with a straight face for some takeout, spending an extra $20 here will probably seem like a bargain when you consider the food quality.

My wife and I moved to Shelton this summer and our first meal out together was at Red Lotus. We were blown away by how wonderful the staff was, the amazing ambiance, and of course, the scrumptious food. Weve been back several times since then, and every time has been better than the last. Every time we order something new, were never disappointed. As for the staff, theyve all been outstanding, but especially the owner, Larry. He genuinely makes you feel like family from the second you walk through the door. Red Lotus has earned us as customers for life.

I am so happy I found this gem of a restaurant! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for bringing a date or a client. The food is always outstanding, I usually go for sushi (thinking about the Spicy Scallop Roll is making me want to go right now), but their fresh seasonal fusion entrees are always spectacular if you are looking for something different! Great staff too!! Definitely worth checking out, even for a drink and an app at the bar. Never a disappointment!

We liked this place so much my wife and I went back for lunch the next day after trying dinner the night before! Great decor, and the food is fresh and delicious. Friendly staff and owners. Stacks up as well as if not better than any Chinese or sushi restaurant youd find in NYC, Boston, or Philadelphia. The other reviewer has no idea what hes talking about bc crab rangoon or "general chow" isnt even a menu item; hes likely confusing different restaurants....

After having living in New York City for many years, I have been searching for an Asian restaurant in CT. It was not until I move to Shelton that my dreams were answered. The food is outstanding, fresh and of the highest quality. The service is without question the best I have had in years. The owners are highly invested in their craft and trully love to please. Now I am not so depressed having moved to CT .

Went to Red Lotus today for a quick business lunch, and the food and atmosphere were excellent. Some of the freshest sashimi I have had in a very long while. My lunch mate had a meatball entree from the specials menu that was exceptional. Restaurant was extremely clean and well kept. Staff was exceedingly friendly and responsive. And, the food presentation was artistic and attractive, but not intrusive.

Do not eat here !!! it is terrible food .These are who opened a so called "a red lotus Asian restaurant" the sushi rolls and the fish did not taste fresh .Sushi is as big as a coin , filled with some junk , very expensive for "sushi" fast food .style as 50 /100 off Sushi restaurant. Overall it was an underwhelming and disappointing dinner. never come again.

Incredible service from the owner and staff. Lunch specials cannot be beat ($11 for an entree, California roll, Shumai, Fried rice and a soup/salad). They have incredible specials, fresh sushi, and great fusion entrees. I always recommend this place to visitors and coworkers only in Shelton for work. Great restaurant for a date night too!

I know there arent a lot of options in town, but this is the best sushi around and would be amazing in any town!! From the basic rolls to the specialty , they are all delicious. We usually go for the lunch special. 3 rolls, soup or salad for 12 dollars. Havent tried anything but sushi, but Im sure its good as well.

Honestly one of my favorite restaurants... one of the few places where I have nothing to complain about. The lunch menu is excellent and priced very affordable. The sushi is always great quality, always fresh. Ive never been disappointed in an entree. Great date night spot!

Exceeded our expectations every single time. Exceptionally high quality of food and service. No doubt #1 restaurant in Shelton! The only complaint I have for this wonderful place is that its a little too far from where we live and we couldnt come every day! :)

Fantastic sushi. I am a regular here and their spicy shrimp rolls are to die for. I really love the atmosphere, and the food is top notch. Many Asian fusion restaurants wish they were as good Red Lotus. If youre into sushi, this is definitely worth a try.
