Im really surprised at the few hateful reviews, believe me their total lies. The only one I partially believe is the one about the delivery guy being adamant just because I know they did have a punchy delivery guy, hopefully they replaced him by now. His food really is the best quality for miles as far as chinese takeout goes. His stuff is in-house made and fresh. They make their own crispy noodles from scratch and I see him cut the beef and pork right fresh from the bone. He has his own grinder, all the ground pork is fresh ground, their always making more wontons or egg rolls, like everytime I go there. The owner and his wife are very friendly and put up with more than they should, I chased someone out once that was hassling them and then cursing up a storm to their phone while eating like a pig. He was scaring the kids eating next to him. Some ppl make me wonder. No.1 is definitely number 1. I used to want to make a site of my own dedicated to rating chinese takeout, I kind of like chinese alot. Just tell them how you want what you want and theyll make you happy. Best soups, best ribs, best fried chicken and definitely best singapore mei fun. Even their egg rolls are full of flavor. Oh their cheese wontons, lol, youll never want for cheese wontons anywhere else again. The day this store closes will be a sad day for many. I hate it when the ultimate chinese spot gets change of ownership, Panda Garden used to be my top choice, Wild Rice is pretty good but No.1 takes the cake. I just wish they would stop running out of Snapple Peach Iced Tea. Air conditioning would be nice, I know I ask for too much. cmon man, I gotta live a little.

Im a student of stony brook university,I like chinese food, Ive been to be ordering food from a several chinese restaurants, to be honest with you, it not so good to me, there was a time I decide to try No.1 chinese restaurant, oh! man,, this is it, the dishs is so tasty, delicious and the ingredients so fresh, not only of that made me stick with it,their services is terrific too , once I placed an order for. Delivery, the food come to me so quick, Suddenly, I found out that I. Forgot to order one item wonton soup and told the delivery guy is it possible to send me the wonton soup again and quickly, he said thats OK and said he tried to be here. ASAP, well, I thought it would be long time to get it, cause I assume that delivery guy might not have been so happy, cause Ill make him to run twice, but the fact is he came back really fast, I gave him tip again, he said hed got it already and said. Good night to me. What couldve I said. This is the Number 1 Chinese.restaurant their name is matching with the. food and.the services, the one Id like to recommend to you. Once again, thank you very much No1 Chinese restaurant.

GROSS!!! They were chewing on the oranges they put in the sauce.... The delivery guy looked at me creepily before going outside and than was using drugs in his car... The food they cooked me looked like it came out of the freezer... Ugh!!!! I was super hungry but walked out cause it was just too disgusting to even think of what was going on in there from what i didnt see within the first few minutes of walking in there. They pay attention to the food as much as they do their kids and youll know what i mean if you go in there, which i highly recommend you dont.. the chinese place next to them was so much more courteous and fresh.

Food is good problem is the wife who works there. We tried to place a $65.- order for pick up. They offer free things pending on how much you spend. My husband asked them to throw in fried wontons (3.- dollar item) wife got nasty and started to yell , we told her forget the order and I went elsewhere. My point, customers come first. Service is key. Then she has the nerve to call back and ask if we want the order after we told her forget it. Not comfortable ordering take out from someone who is already upset and nasty. They lost a customer for $3.- on a $65.- take out order.

really bad, we ordered the curry chicken with onions, and literally, there were about 3 pieces of chicken, little bits, and the rest was all thick slices of onions, all of it, I just wanted chicken seasoned with onions, sigh. the same with the pork with mushrooms, three or four pieces of burnt pork, and the rest a vegetable mix soup. This is obviously their way of saving money, but seriously, if you must order from here, expect only the second part of your dish, or something very different than what youd expect to be delivered. Not worth my money at all.

Great food...!!! I am not sure why the delivery driver was shining high powered flashlights through the window. The driveway and porch was illuminated. Then, he knocked over 10 times in less then 5 seconds/waited about 2 seconds and began knocking again. It takes the average per soon at least 15 - 30 seconds to answer the door unless they are in their garage or basement. Even my son commented..."whats this guys problem." Did I mention that the food was GREAT...!!! Had to deduct 1 star due to the drivers lack of professionalism.

Certainly not No 1. Ordered soup with Udon noodles. Paid 50 cents extra. Got mei fun noodles. Egg roll was mostly lettuce or cabbage.. no chunks of pork. Chicken w eggplant was full of eggplant which was great, but it would have been a lot better if they actually cooked the eggplant! Fried dumplings were good. Seems like they are stingy with the protein in the dishes. First and last time ordering from here. Lan Wo in Stony Brook blows this place away. LOL kitchen down the road from here is excellent also.

Delicious food. The place has been here for a long time and well established. This is usually because the food and service is good, Wontons home made. I noticed that if I have any preferences for seasoning I just tell them up front so they adjust my food accordingly. I regularly pick up food here. I think its worth your time to try it.

The delivery guy was so rude, nasty and very aggressive> He took the tip without thanking me , i asked him if the two dollars were too small and he kept on yelling at me . i was so scared that i went inside and he punched my door couple times. They didnt even send plastic utensils nor napkins. Very bad service. not good at all.

Really great fan of No1, they are the best in the area! Hot & Sour soup is made to order and awesome, reccomend the Lemon Chicken and Shrimp with vegetables from the diet menu. Everyghing I have tried was expertly prepared. This is my go-to place for Chinese take out and the people there are so nice!

Ordered food tonight 11/2/2016 at 7:30pm Sesame chicken and fried rice, arrived home and then vomited. I knew something was wrong with the food most likely stale or something else. Not going to order from here again lost my business, others take precaution what and when you are ordering.
