I moved to Weathersfield 5 years ago and havent found a good Thai food restaurant to replace Uncle Dais in Stamford. Unseen actually seen but not looking impressive in a tiny building next to a Dunkin Donuts unbeknown to me was a treasure. After many people had told us how good it was my wife and I tried Puket Cafe. We pulled around the back and were surprised by the amount of cars. Yet when we walked in we were graciously greeted and seated right away. We were surprised that a place that looks so small on the outside had so much seating on the inside. The rooms are broken up though so that it has an air of intimacy. The wonderful and gracious staff gave us great service. They seem to be on a pool system as we were visited by any number of staff so we were cared for yet never seemed "hoovered over". The drinks were well made and speedily delivered (after a day of planting trees this was greatly appreciated. My wife started with the Dumpling soup, with a delicious broth and carrots scallions and a taste of cilantro. She claimed she could have had 3 more bowls. I had the spring rols crispy Thai style with a sweet and sour sauce. They were just the right crispness and the flavor of the vegetables was perfect. As it is a fairly expansive menu it took us a while to choose our main courses but I went with a Mixed grill from the seafood part of the menu. The presentation was fantastic. Skewers with Shrimp and scallops over grilled Salmon with a scoop of brown rice a side of green veggies in this case broccoli which is not my favorite yet I ate it all and a wonderful nutty sauce that was spicy yet not overwhelming the flavors of the food. I will order this again if my wife doesnt beat me to it on or next visit and there will be a next visit. She had the Padthai, remarking about how they can get the noodle to not stick together. This was done very well with just the right mix in flavors of peanuts and scallions. We did not have dessert but are looking forward to the fried bananas on our return visit., A. j. Personally I love Thai Food. I eat almost at every Thai restaurants in CT. I stopped by here just last week (April 2011). Dinner for 2, no wines, no drinks, no appetizers. JUST 2 entrees & water. Guess how much I paid before tips? ($42). This is ripped-off. Ridiculous. I ordered a Cashew Nut tofu. The waitress asked if I want brown or white rice. Often a small bowl of rice would included in the entree... I said brown...so was my friend. When I got the bill, it was $42. I was shocked for a moment, but then I checked if they made the error in adding up the number... I found out that they charged an extra $5 for each bowl of rice. Ive never experienced this before. I warned my friends not to go there.

Puket is a small cafe and very cozy. They do offer take-out, which is nice and quite quick. The staff is friendly and the menu is pretty typical for a Thai restaurant, but thats not a bad thing. Ive had a few meals here and the food is alright, but a bit salty for my tastes. The tom yum I ordered was more orange in color than Id expect and again, a bit too salty. The Thai basil meal I had was ok, but didnt have many basil leaves in it and the pad woon sen with chicken was plentiful, but there was not a lot of chicken - mostly noodles. Overall, Im not completely dissatisfied, but Im not clamoring to go back.

We went there for lunch and had to ask the waitress if she served us correctly (lunch portions, not dinner) and she said that those were their lunch portions. Mmmhmm! More for me! =) That being sad, I had a to-go box when we left the restaurant. I had the Mango shrimp rice, it was excellent! The others had Massaman curry and Chicken Pad Thai, both were equally enjoyed and raved about. For the price of lunch, we had dinner portions of great Thai food! Cant wait to be back!

After waiting too long for service at Red lobster we got up and left. Saw the high reviews for Puket and headed down the road. Yes its small with little parking in front, but drive around back to park its worth it! Appetizers were great with something for everyone. Spicey pad thai chicken and tofu .. peanut sauce with chicken all good! Fried bananas with ice cream for dessert. If you enjoy good thai .. give them a try! Waitstaff nice and attentive.

Used to go to the original Puket Café on the Silas Deane Highway in Wethersfield. Glad they relocated to Rocky Hill. We stopped in for dinner on 11/1/14 to find a very busy restaurant. Service was a bit slow due to the amount of customers. The shumai was very good. The entrées were hot and delicious. The food was just as it had been at their previous location. Id highly recommend this restaurant. Will definitely be returning.

Valentines Day 2009 Looks Small at first from outside, sits about 50, so not that small. We were placed at a small two seater table then graciously upgraded to a booth seat where we had the most amazing food! It doesnt matter what you order, all is great! Staff is extremely nice and love the colorful outfits the waitress wear. If your around the area check it out. Good Eats :)

They are conveniently located, waitresses are friendly and the food is good. BUT, they always mess up at least one dish in a larger order and their prices are astronomical - $10-13 for a lumch order of Pad Thai or green curry depending on the protein you add - Im sorry, thats a lot of money. I still go there, but not as often since that price jumped from $7 to $10 three years ago....

I have been here multiple times and I would rate this place better than most Thai places. They have lots of seating space and I never had to wait. They offer multiple options for appetizers, soup, curry and noodles. You can order any of them with your choice of vegetable, tofu, chicken, shrimp or beef. My favourite here is the Tom Kha soup and drunken noodles.

This is our "benchmark" for Thai food around the country. We compare every dish to Puket. In most cases, 4 out of 5, Puket is better than the competition. Fresh ingredients, friendly and quick service, they recognize us whenever we drop in and we are never disappointed. I am glad to see they are always busy and they deserve a great rating.

Its looks like managment has changed. The place looks alot different because of renovations. Music is modern pop. The service is clueless. Food portions have went down. Although the flavor stayed somewhat the same. Im a common customer but I dont think Ill be coming here anymore. The whole operation sucks

I used to like it once, but when i went into dine tonight 3/17 i had the shittiest service ever from them. I am no more going to this place, they were serving as if they wanted us to get out of there even though the closing time was one hour away. Once a decent pick for me, no more to this place for me.

I wish I had the same experience as the folks below. I thought it was just ok. I had the Pad See Yue, my favorite dish and it was a let down. I had the most fantastic Pad See Yue in Brooklyn NY at a Thai place called Joya, Ive been trying to find somewhere in CT that is on Par, to no avail.
