Unfriendly, Unwelcoming - A rare experience encountered in USA !! After a short trip to Dinosaur state park in CT, we 4 families went there for the first time. Even though we all were starving, we patiently wait in car to keep the clock tick 5.30pm where the dinner time starts for the restaurant. My friend went to the door and a gentle man looking guy (we still dont know whether he is staff/manager or owner) open the door after several minutes of waiting. After a short conversation he came to me and asked, Can we go to some other restaurant? I said, No Buddy we all are starving especially kids; lets push in. We all stepped in...VOILA...enough space and nice ambience... I was in front and faced the said gentle man looking guy very first; he barely smiled at me and the first thing he said was "KIDS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO RUN AROUND. YOU HAVE TO MAKE THEM SIT ON CHAIR". Little shocked but i managed to make a smile and said, Okay. (Hearing this my friend asked again, Do we really want to stay?) And remind you there was no one else in that restaurant at that time other than 2 of that gentle man looking guys friends on a corner table. Our group has 4 kids and 2 toddlers. He gave 2 high chairs. When i making my toddler to sit on highchair, my 3 year old son said, he wants to sit on high chair. I placed him in. All of a sudden, that guy reached to me and said in loud; "HE IS NOT SUPPOSED TO SIT ON THAT, I DONT HAVE ANY OTHER HIGH CHAIR". Come On boss, they are my kids. I know how to manage !! Again I said nothing other than a smile. We all engaged again to make ourselves comfortable to sit. I was just stepping out towards my car for some reason, and i heard some high pitch voice behind. Looking back to see the scene; my 1 year old girl and friends daughter standing in front of the same gentle man looking guy and smiling..waiving hands...and he is just staring at them and he literally shouted to my wife saying "I TOLD YOU, KIDS SHOULD NOT BE RUNNING AROUND". Even before i step back to them, my friends stood up to walk out... "Have been to many hotels and restaurants in US, but this is first time i am seeing such an arrogant behavior from a staff/manager", I said to him. My friends also made their statements clearly into his ears and we stepped out. May be many of you had a fair experience, but we faced very unfriendly, poor service and made us feel the management dont appreciate our business at all (few other friends too told the same later). All in all, this is a restaurant in name only, we guess.

I came for lunch with a co-worker. It took a long time to be seated even though the restaurant was empty except for one table. There appeared to be only one employee. He was the host and the server (and I wondered if he was the chef, too, because he would disappear in the back for long periods of time). Its a pretty big space, so I was expecting more people to be working there. We were finally seated after about 10 minutes (which isnt long if its a busy day, but long for an empty restaurant). I saw lunch specials advertised on the wall but they werent on the menu, so I asked about them. The server said the lunch specials were for takeout only (huh?). He mustve sensed my frustration because he came back with the lunch specials printed on 8.5 x 11 sheets of paper, and he said they were planning to add them to the sit down menu later but since I asked about them we could order them now. I ordered goat curry, and I enjoyed it. The food was good. The service, so-so. Id be willing to go back and give Mmumbai Spice another try.

Best Indian. This is my new favorite restaurant. Mmumbai Spice is Northern Indian, closer to the Pakistani border. The food is much more savory than southern Indian fare, the spices stronger and more prominent. I am a big fan if Indian and Pakistani cuisine. It is my go to cuisine, despite being Italian by descent. Having visited dozens of local CT, MA, and NY Indian restaurant, Mmumbai Spice is head and shoulders above the competition. The best I have had, ever, anywhere. I recommend a visit if you appreciate Indian. The Lamb Saag, Chicken Malvani, and Chicken Tikka Masala are outstanding. I am sure everything on the menu is equally wonderful, but those are the dishes I had on my most recent visit.

Vegetable samosa and both dipping sauces were first-rate. Palak paneer and mixed vegetable curry were deeply flavorful, abundantly spiced, and not too heavy. Naan was sufficiently baked without being dry. Wait staff was charming and concerned for our comfort and enjoyment and management seemed calm and joyful in their duties. I got such a good feeling from this place and the food was perfect and fairly priced.

The owner of this restaurant is a hopeless person with no respect, poor hospitality while treating the customers. He begs for tips and profiles people, we always leave a tip of 20% but he was not satisfied with it. A very cheap place, bad ambiance, and overall my worst restaurant experience in the Hartford area. Please try to avoid this place.

Simple yet includes the many tastes of Indian cuisine. Prices are affordable, service is fast and friendly, and the food has proper restaurant quality. This joint is meant for carry out on the go and is great for a quick noon lunch, or evening chaat. I would definitely recommend Mmumbai Spice to all, because I know Im definitely going back!

This was the first time I tried Indian food and I wont go anywhere else! The curry shrimp is AMAZING!!! I love it all by itself, no rice or bread needed! However, occasionally I like to order the Chapati (flat bread) and dip it in the awesome shrimp curry sauce! :) The service is great too!

Love at first eat.. Yummy, authentic Indian food from every corner of India . You must try lamb/ goat maalvani. Also if you know what vada Paav is, you have found the place who make best of them. Its a takeout place so dont expect a fancy restaurant feel but very clean and friendly service.

The indo-chinese section tastes exactly the way it does in Mumbai. So anybody who is native to Mumbai will love this place. I go here whenever I crave indo-chinese food. This is the best one in Hartford county. None of the Indian restaurants have the taste these guys offer.

Eaten in the restaurant which is beautifully decorated yet simple, and have ordered to go frequently and Ive always been so impressed. I love the food here and recommend that everyone try it at least once! Youll go back repeatedly. They are gluten free friendly too!!!

A very small place . Good for to go. Food is delicious and reasonable prices. But the only flip side is the quantity, which is very small quantity, probably thats why the prices are affordable. Taste wise too good... I would definitely go again and again.

They donot provide HALAL food.....they just say it is halal but they lie. Check for the Halal certificate or ask where they buy meat from. TheY begs for Tip.... make sure you expect that. Nice place to spend some expensive time for food + TIP.
