A couple weekends ago I went to dinner here for the first time with a large group of people for a party. My fiance and I enjoyed the chicken parm dinner- on the other hand, the two people that had the Veal Aspagi (veal with prosciutto in a wine butter sauce) and they said it tasted like they poured maple syrup over the dish and it was more of a piece of ham on top then prosciutto- not good at all. Anyhow, we left thinking that wed order out the chicken parm grinder at some point since we liked the chicken parm dinner. This past weekend we decided to try it out. When I called I specifically asked if the chicken parm grinder was the same chicken as the dinner (Ive ordered at places before and ended up with a frozen chicken patty instead of what the dinner had so I now ask) and the lady assured me they were and the only difference was they were made earlier in the day and not to order. Ok fine, same chicken, well order. We ordered 2 large grinders and I can honestly say, this was close to inedible. Every other bite was full of hard chicken cartilage pieces and tendons. We couldnt get through the first grinder let alone the other one we had. My fiance brought the un-opened one to work for others to try and they couldnt believe that they could serve something so awful. I called the restaurant today and spoke to the owner. Many family members of ours own small businesses and they want to hear feedback- good and bad and especially if someone was unhappy with their product or service so they could work to improve it. I figured Id give them the benefit of the doubt before I posted a review on-line- maybe the kitchen prep was off that day and didnt trim the chicken properly- not so much. Once I told him that I had asked before ordering if it was the same chicken, he said, no its not the same chicken. Of course I told him the lady on the phone assured me it was- he said well you are talking to my hostess. Well, if they dont know what they are talking about, they should ask someone before giving out wrong info. Anyway, he said they use chicken tenderloins for their chicken parm grinders and breast meat for the chicken parm dinners. Welp, theres the difference- chicken tenderloins have a tenderloin going through them- which I always remove before cooking with them since no one wants to chew on a rubbery piece of chicken tendon! Gross. When I asked if anyone had brought this up before- he said no (not that I expected him to say yes if ppl brought it up before). Like many, I read reviews all the time although I rarely write them. I figured I’d call first before assuming this was how they always were and if it was my business, I would want to know these things and try to fix them instead of losing business. Nothing travels like word of mouth. Needless to say, I do not recommend the chicken parm grinder or veal aspagi. Id hoped the owner would have said he would work to fix the issue- use breast meat or remove the cartilage and tendons before using it. Unfortunately, he did not and I would have also expected a push for us to come back and have a meal on the house. We did spend $35 for 2 large grinders that were a waste and thrown out. I also specifically asked if it was the same chicken in the chicken parm dinner- it’s not my problem his staff gave out incorrect information. Never again- we won’t be back.

Myself and 4 friends called to place a take out order for sandwiches. When we picked up the sandwiches, only 3 of the 5 were made and we had to wait 10 minutes for cold sandwiches. When we got to our destination, we found that none of the sandwiches were the way we ordered them - to be clear, we did not make any changes to the sandwiches, got them as is. Two of the sandwiches were prosciutto. Anyone that has had prosciutto knows that it is very tough to eat if it is not sliced thin. The sandwiches had pieces of prosciutto that appeared to be cut with a knife and were at least 1/4 inch thick. So thick that we couldnt even bite into them. We called to voice our complaint and were not even offered a "come back and we will make it right." The woman on the end of the phone was either extremely rude or faced with a long line of take out people because she did not want to hear anything that we had to say. For an Italian restaurant to not know how to slice prosciutto? Makes me question who they have in the kitchen!

Italian cuisine at its finest!! Prices are reasonable, portions are exceptional!! I have eaten here several times and the food is fantastic. The waitstaff is awesome. Very friendly atmosphere. I made a reservation for a Friday evening and we were seated upon arrival, No waiting!! I went with my fiance and a couple friends and everyone was very pleased with their dinner selections!!! I find it hard to believe that there are any negative comments about DeNovellis Restaurant because it is top notch!!! LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!!!

Enjoyed the food in the past, so we were happy to try the new location in Rocky Hill. The food is still yummy, but it was soured by the poor attitude of the hostess. When we arrived, she looked at my wife and I, rolled her eyes, grabbed our menus and charged past us without even eye contact. It was like we offended her by our presence. Great first impression! Wont be paying any more visits to this place. Ill take my business where its appreciated.

Two different times I tried ordering take out from them they only were excepting orders of pizza and grinders... Then whats the point of having a take out menu if you cant order fron it... If you have a take out menu customers should be able to order what ever they want to from it. Period. Wont be going to there again anytime soon.

One of the best Italian restaurant experiences Ive had. Veal Parm was cooked to perfection, great sauce, not too much cheese. Great bread and pepper and cheese plate was nice touch. Service was timely and friendly. Recommend making a reservation, even during week. Sorry I live in Arizona or I would frequent here often.

Amazing Italian restaurant. The food is fresh and delicious, the ambiance is reminiscent of an old Italian restaurant even though the location is very new, and the staff were wonderful. Would definitely check out this establishment.

This is ridiculous. Unless you are a regular, dont even bother. You cant even get your take out food because service is terrible. Waited an hour for my food I called in to go an hour and a half prior. Doesnt even get a star.

Went with family. . Ordered for a Veg pizza and a Pasta item. Bad quality and we did not like it at all. Expensive for the kind of food and service that was offered.
