On Sat. March 4th, me and my date stopped by for a night cap. The Bartender working was (Kasia) and before I ordered my first pair of drinks, I Specified that Ill put my card down to start a tab. But when Im done Im going to pay cash! Regardless the night went on, and service was mediocre at best. So when it came time to check out. She (Kasia) handed me a receipt for which I was under the impression that it wasnt closed out yet. But little did I know she ran my card. And without me being aware of that. I proceeded and payed the amount cash, and my date gave her the tip. (Which my date was a bartender from another local establishment, so she tipped favorably) To make a long story short, not only did I pay the proper amount, she walked off with like a 115% tip. (No Bullshit) So when I realized the following day what happened, I contacted the Establishment (Central Cafe) and talked to another bartender and she said she would call Rob (the owner or manager), and get to the bottom of it. Needless to say, I received no contact from him or the Establishment. Definitely left a sour taste in the mouth. Im over it. But had to share! Make people aware! Cause there is always RedZone and Sliders, and Zen, to attend. And of course there is always word of mouth! Just as good. Just sucks cause Im from town Born and raised" So much for the Local love!

We have gone there twice ... the first time insanely slow service even on a non game day but the food was good. We were literally the only people in there and all but had to beg for service. We have ordered food to go but just as big of a pain. You can go when they tell you to pick it up but you stand there just as long for the staff to ignore you. We thought yesterday it would be busy but still early enough to get food. We went in sat down and sat there for 15 min to be ignored. No drinks no menus not even a hello when you walk in the door. While your food is good it is not worth it. Get some help or get the help you have trained. What is ironic is that the firehouse bar & grille also in Plainville identical to every letter for service and food. I am curious to know if the same person owns both???

I held my wifes 40th birthday party at the Central Cafe in Plainville CT. They have a very nice private room you can rent at a very affordable price. They even provided a dedicated waitress. The manager was extremely helpful and accommodating. He worked with us to plan the event from food to decor to beverages. We were able to bring in our own cake without issue. We were even able to have a DJ. The food was very good and the drinks were reasonable. Our waitress was fast and friendly. We had a great time and would recommend this place to everybody. We will be back. Thanks for everything.

If you remember the name from decades past, it is NOTHING like it was WAY back when. The space is clean, open and funky with lots of brick. The staff are wonderful and friendly. The FOOD, oh the FOOD - this place has some of the best wings, burgers and bar foods youll find anywhere nearby. The price point is great and all ages can eat here (just not at the bar). Great local gem.

absolutly the best wings around!! they are huge!! usually can eat 12 or more wings at other places but have trouble with finishing 10 here. love the flavor selection of wings, something for everyone. my favorite resturant in the area..

There is nothing special about this place. The bartender was overwhelmed and wouldnt split a tab when we first walked in. There is poor table service. If you want your drink refilled, sit at the bar.
