Ray & I ,with another friend went to H&D for lunch today for the first time. I walked into the dining area and looked for a booth...there was only one - which was occupied by a single guy on a laptop. They had these high tables with wooden stools. ( Not senior friendly). So, we ended up near the entrance to the pub side , where there were 2 booths. ( shame they dont utilize their windows for a sitting area.) After settling in, the waitress too quickly asked us if we were ready to order, which we werent because I have to read the menu to my blind partner so I asked for a couple more minutes....... .. . After 10 minutes..I had to go find our waitress. I asked if they had a gluten-free menu - NO, If they had gluten-free bread - NO. If they had a gluten-free beer - NOO O O ! ( amazing!) so that limits the menu to a salad & chips. ( WOW - What a selection!) So our pretty blonde ( of course) waitress takes our order without writing it down. I asked for a Cesar salad with grilled chicken and without croutons. Irene had the fish& chips, and Ray asked for the H&D burger with coleslaw.( no fries). Yep...you got it! My salad had the croutons, Rays burger came with fries and no coleslaw! Irenes came out fine - well 1 out of 3! ( hows that for odds!) I was the only one that had to try the Baileys cheese cake ( Ray eats the crust). The portion was good..but it was just barely defrosted....which detracts from the flavor. Now, I might have done a coffee - and one would have thought that they would have a drink or flavored coffee pop-up menu on the table - but NO,! I will admit what food I did have was good,...but considering the poor service, and even poorer selection... Do you think we will be returning??? NO O O O O O o o !

I used to come here more often, because the food is definitely beyond what Id expect from a bar. I like the atmosphere, and its been a good place. BUT, the last couple times Ive been here (since the expansion), the service has been terribly slow. Last night we were there when the restaurant area was not very crowded, and we didnt get our food for almost an hour (four people in the party). The appetizers didnt come for about half an hour themselves. There was no apology, explanation, or even the slightest acknowledgment that the food was taking a while. I dont expect my servers to magically make something that goes wrong in the kitchen better, but they have to at least say something. Additionally, the food last night for some reason was the worst its been in any of the times Ive been there. The cheesesteak seemed stale and overcooked (I usually love their cheesesteak), and the cottage chips just werent that good, either (I usually love their cottage chips). But to be fair, apparently the Corned Beef entree was still good. Its very disappointing, especially since I took some friends there that havent been, so it wasnt a good first impression for them, either. Its too bad, since the Harp & Dragon used to be a great place to go, but the service is becoming very poor, and Im hoping the food last night is a fluke, because thats the last thing going for it as far as Im concerned.

went here with my boyfriend and a bunch of his work crew the service was AWFUL it took no less then 15 mins to get a beer from the tap. our friend was also the first to order a sandwich and our server brought out all the food and forgot to put his order in ... he then waited an extra 15 mins to get his sandwich after watching all of us eat first. later when it was time to pay our waitress dropped the check and we waited 20 mins and decided she clearly didnt want to pick it up so my bf and i left by throwing some money on the table with the rest of his friends who decided to wait for her to come back so they could pay ..... the next day i asked if she came back to the table after we left and they said they waited an ADDITIONAL 20 mins and she didnt even come to them after we left so they just threw their money on the table and left aswell . the worst part was that the restauraunt was basically empty and we were the only big party there so there was no exuse for the terrible service i only gave stars for the fact that we didnt have to pay the full amount cause she never came and im an excellent tipper

They have a lot of nerve calling this place an Irish Pub. This is the only pub or restaurant, "Irish or otherwise", that I have "ever" been to that doesnt serve Guinness Beer in a Guinness Glass... they dont even have Guinness glassware... Im told theres none to be found anywhere! They serve it up in a Bud glass, or glassware from some other trend mongering swill brand. How can you even begin to call yourself an Irish Pub, and not have a single Guinness glass in the house! Try that over in Ireland. The original owner did a decent job running the place. I use to enjoy going there for lunch every now and again. Whoevers been running it these last few years however, needs to change the name on the shingle out front, because this is no longer an Irish Pub. Its just another local dive with overpriced food, bad service, and the usual trendy TV beer selection. Dont look for Irish music playing in the background here either. Those days are gone.

I will never eat there again. When my boyfriend and I went there for dinner we waited 15 minutes before any waitress even acknowledged us. I told the waitress I had a $50 gift certificate so she knew beforehand. I ordered clam chowder. It tasted awful as if it was from a can. I believe my boyfriend ordered chicken parmesan and he said it was ok. After we were done eating the bill was only at $25 so I asked the waitress for a desert menu and she told me that they closed the kitchen down for the night. It was only about 8pm so I dont see why any restaurant would close a kitchen when they still have guests eating dinner. I was really upset about that. Unfortunately, I didnt have any cash or a debit/credit card with me so I had no choice but to waste a $50 dollar gift certificate on a $25 meal. (The gift certificate was only good for a 1 time use only and didnt allow for take home items.)

Went in for a drink with some friends at night. The bartender was a stupid blonde women who was ABSOLUTELY AWFUL TO HER CUSTOMERS. There was a group of exchange students from Thailand trying to enjoy their time here having a drink, and the bartender was being obviously rude to them and laughing to herself in a snobby way just because they didnt speak good english. We tried to joke and talk to her but she continued to be rude and snotty to us also. Then she called the general manager down for no good reason and he himself gave us all an attitude for no reason while lightly insulting my friends and acted as if he was better than us. Will never go back to harp and dragon. People who run a small business should treat their customers with some respect.
