After going on a long hike with the family, we decided to stop at a local pizza restaurant for some much needed re-feuling (my 13 year old picked). We were promptly seated by a very friendly waitress who was kind enough to quickly bring a booster seat for my 3 year old. We chose to start with some chicken wings and were surprised to find that these wings we VERY GOOD. We kind of regretted only getting them as an appetizer. Soon afterward, the two large pizzas we ordered came out steaming hot. My wife rarely eats pizza, but had to try it. She pulled out the first piece and told me "You have got to try this" (like I wouldnt). She was right. The pizza was very very good. Pros - Great food Great service Very convenient location Cons - There didnt seem to be a bargain for ordering a larger amount of wings. Basically the wings were about $1 each no matter how big of a quantity you ordered. Recommendation: Go there. It was worth it.

Although I have had great food at D&Gs in the past including gyros, pizza, burgers etc, I have now had two very bad pizzas. The first was a philly steak and cheese a few weeks ago, which was awful. The steak was over cooked and bland , the onions and peppers were undercooked and not caramelized. This pizza was so bad that we threw most of it out. The second buffalo chicken pizza we purchased last night was horrible. The breaded chicken was sparse and barely tasted of buffalo sauce, there were very few red onions on it, and the pizza seemed to be covered in blue cheese dressing rather than actual blue cheese as would be expected for a $27 pizza! Again this pizza was bad enough to throw the rest out!!

D&G Pizza & Pub is the best place around to go and enjoy any one of an incredible number of constantly updated craft beers, glasses of wine, or mixed drinks. The food is secondary for me, but is also quite good. Mostly standard pub food entrees, though the appetizer specials are typically unique and amazing!

Loved the food. Great staff. Barbeque chicken pizza was awesome. I eat at places that I enjoy and I rate the food worth regards to how it tastes and if the service is good. I dont go for Facebook character assassination when its got nothing to do with business. Post a review, not an opinion.

Carry out- good kettle fries, decent tiramisu. Steak and cheese- grizzly dry, even w extra cheese. Roast beef super hoagie- horrible, dry nasty RB, akin to super thin shoe leather they forgot the horseradish sauce. We will not return.. very disappointing.

Best, most dynamic beer list in NE CT. Specials menu is almost always a home run as well. A bit pricey for what you get food wise, but quality is consistently good and your options in Canterbury, well, they suck.
