Pretty popular spot on Mothers Day. Sat ourselves promotly in the bar area, and the service was decent. The smoked wings with the pastrami dry rub were great and so was the giant pretzel. The cheese dip for the pretzel tasted like the cracker snack packs youd have as a kid, and thus familiar and actually went well with the pretzel. The bison burger I had was decent, but the construction of the burger was just all off.. the sauce served with it was put on the bottom bun instead of the top of the burger so it just soaked in and could even taste it, and the top of the burger had crunchy fried onions and then somehow had on top of them two sliced tomatoes and then lettuce on top of that.. The meat quality and cooking was on point, just seems they dont really know how to properly combine the flavors.. I should have been tipped off by the mural on the main wall which shows a deconstruction of a burger but the cheese is below the burger and between the veggies?.. whomever created that diagram should be shot.. otherwise meal was good and guess what?.. Found out after the meal that Moms meal was free on Mothers day.. which was a nice surprise but a little annoying we werent informed of that at the beginning of the meal.. Basically they need to tighten up their shop and the ratings would all be higher.

Went to Artisanal Burger on a Friday evening and ate at one of the tables in the bar with my wife. The atmosphere was great and both the hostess and our waitress were great and attentive. Had the Huge pretzel as an app, which is a meal in itself. Its well presented and I liked the 3 types of different sauces you receive. The beer selection was great. We ordered the Mushroom burger and this is why I only gave this place 3 stars. There is a lot of great burger places in the Hartford area and although this burger was alright, with a name like Artisanal burger I was expecting a much better burger. The burger meat seemed off and there was barely any mushrooms on the burger. There was a side of what we believe to be marinara sauce or something similar which seemed an odd combination and we didnt use. Might be back for another pretzel or a good beer but probably not for the burgers. Overall a great experience with the staff and I am thankful for their hard work, especially on a busy weekend night.

So...I waited more than 5 minutes to be sat. Once I was sat, I waited another 5-10 minutes to be greeted by a waiter. After waiting another 10 minutes to receive my drink, the waiter finally took my order with no attempt to up sell or suggest anything. My dinner was delivered (quickly) by a different person who just put the plate in front of me without saying one word. The Artisanal Burger was undercooked, missing items I had requested, super greasy, and fell apart as I was eating it...quite possibly the worst burger of my entire life. The waiter finally checked back with me when I had 2-3 bites left. I then waited 15 minutes after I was done for him to return. "Anything else?" is all he asked, which is probably best as I probably would have asked for a manager/owner to discuss my horrible dining experience, but I just wanted to get the heck out! I quickly paid & left....NEVER to return to this (or any) ABC establishment.

Had 8oz Burger with ale-battered onion ring in restaurant and as take out. The restaurant experience was perfect. The rings were massive and crunchy. Probably the best Ive had. The burger had a nice thick patty with antibiotic free angus beef. You taste that its jit cheap meat. Good service. Nice atmosphere. Had great collection of beer. Worth the extra cost over the competitors next door, Five Guys. Take out was fast and well packaged. Unfortunately, the onion rings were over fried. A few of them lost its batter. Quite disappointing consider how good the nice ones in the same box were. Health score: 3.5/5. Despite high quality ingredients, fried food is never good. Also I found it quite difficult to digest and usually I never have problems in this regard. PS: I only took a picture of my wifes burger. You gotta take my word for those nice onion rings.

So, Ive eaten at this place since they opened, and Ive watched them hit their stride. I still just cant give 5 stars, because the food, while good, is just that little bit too much inconsistent. Overall though, I definitely recommend them. The burger menu is very good, and you can choose from a designed burger, or build your own. They offer turkey patties, vegetable burgers, and beef and local beef options for various price increases or decreases. Theyve rounded out the menu with a very nice selection of entrees that hit the mark in general, but suffer from a few missteps. Their beer and bourbon selection is predictably very good, alot to choose from, and a rotating selection of mostly local beers. Overall, pretty good, and ill be back when Im craving a burger

Great beers on tap, burger dry aged another question.... burger came out perfectly cooked but the bun was already soggy to the point my fingers pushed threw it to the burger which actually made for a weird and unpleasant texture. Guinness butter not even tasted, they would be smart to actually cook the onions with the butter rather then the burger to bring out that flavor. The garlic aioli not even noticed... bar tender claimed people love this burger and I have no idea how.... seriously the burger was flavorless I actually had to add salt to both sides to even bring the flavor of beef Out! Also if they want to stop a soggy bun then put a slice of leftus under the burger... this is common culinary knowledge no one likes soggy buns.....

First time there for lunch. Service was painfully slow, especially with two kids. The entire meal took 90 minutes. Appetizer was fried pickles. The plate was covered in grease. Right out of the frier and onto a plate without anything to clean the excess grease off. My wifes southwest chicken wrap had over cooked chicken throughout that looked a day old When i looked at other peoples plates, i should have known. Every burger patty looked exactly the same like a Bubba burger... They clearly put the toppings on my burger well before the burger was done cooking as the lettuce was completely wilted. The cheese oozed like water. Not impressed. With all the good burger places in CT, there are far better options

Burgers were very good. The service sucked. Food was dropped off waiter came by then but didnt see a waiter the whole time we were eating, not anywhere in the dining room. Both our sodas were empty and was never asked about a refill. Was finished eating, waiter was coming toward the table with a new soda, asked if we were finished and then put the soda in the waitress station, Asked about dessert and cleared table. I cant help wondering if the poor service had to do with it being a table with 2 women and us not drinking beers. Seen as not spending alot. I happen to tip very well when the service is good but I wont tip if the service is sub par. I dont think I will be back.
