The waitress decided to re-authorize my card for an amount that I did not sign for. When I called to figure out why I was charged THREE TIMES, ultimately for 100 dollars more than I had authorized, her manager (Dennis) explained that someone had skipped out on the bill. His exact words were, "What were we supposed to do with the bill?" Well.. any normal restaurant WOULDNT do what you did sir. Because its ILLEGAL. From server to owner, getting this fixed was a hassle. Ultimately, it was too much of a hassle for MOLTO to fix it so I had to claim fraud with my card company. Saddest part about this, is if you read through their reviews, you see this has happened to other patrons as well. And, they dealt with the same terrible customer service, ultimately claiming fraud with their credit card company. If youre still interested in going there, youll be glad to know that the food is delicious and the atmosphere is quite energetic. However, dont be too hopeful, service was atrocious. Our server took over a half hour to successfully deliver one round of drinks. An appetizer order was out of the question, she must have not seen half of our party because she kept skipping individuals who wanted to order a plate. She left the table before she completed taking the dinner order, leaving some of the guests out. A round of our drinks ended up being dumped on another customers back. It was interesting to say the least. When it came time for the bill. She could split it, then she couldnt, then apparently, she was able to. Let me explain, it took us 20 minutes to get the bill (our single, ONE, UN-SEPARATED BILL). We all split it evenly and paid it. Another fifteen minutes after we had closed our bill, she presented us with another check that had to be paid (which she had apparently overlooked for the last 35 minutes). After presenting the check to the guest, the server exchanged some choice words with our guest and stomped off, exclaiming "Ill just take it out of my tips!" This is where my card comes into play- she, the waitress Alanna or manager Dennis reauthorized MY CARD to cover the expense. Not only did they do this to my card, they did it to EVERY CARD that was used at the table. Trying to figure out what happened was a hassle, for every single one of us. Every level of management knew/was told a different story, right up to the owner, Dan, who felt it necessary to scold me (like I was one of his children) on the phone because the party I was a part of was late for their reservation. He mentioned that "not a single person was there and the table for 20 was ready and waiting at 8PM." Well Dan, when I walked through the door at 8:01 I met my party at the bar because our table was not ready yet. At 8:10 I sat my tush at a table the was built for 10 wondering where the other guests were going to sit. Dont worry though, we ACCOMODATED YOU when we squeezed 15 of us around that table built for 10 because YOU/YOUR STAFF had not reserved any more tables for us. If you have enough balls to yell at your customers, at least have the facts straight. Your cameras are a perfect reminder of WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED, go ahead and replay them (you might even be able to see your server yelling at our guest). He mentioned that he was a small restaurant and couldnt accommodate a party of our size.... THEN WHY COMMIT TO IT? A) it showed in your service that you dont serve parties of more than 4 at a time. B) Being a restaurant owner, you should understand and be prepared for reservations being late and how to handle the situation (Or may I suggest a dining room manager that knows what he is doing?) ... but the funniest thing is that MOLTO DOESNT EVEN TAKE RESERVATIONS. So, who made the booboo? Whoever took the reservation. Not me. Right up to the owner (the person who is supposed to be setting the example) customer service SUCKED. I wish there was a prettier term to use but the experience here was a damn failure and a huge disappointment. I wish you better luck.

I have never seen anything like this before!!! The service I experienced at Molto was beyond horrible. My boyfriend and I went there to eat on a Friday night around 8:30 pm. We were seated. But then they had us wait for 45 minutes and never brought us anything to eat, not even the appetizers or the entrees that we ordered 30 minutes prior. 35 minutes into the wait, we did not think anything of it. We were patient and chatting like any other couple. HOWEVER, we noticed that the waiter never came to check on us really except for the first 20 minutes when he dropped off the drinks; and the first 5 minutes when he took the order. All of a sudden we looked around us and noticed that there were 3 tables that had been seated after us but were served before we were served. The parties at each table were ALL white couples. They had been served their appetizers and main dish. We ended up leaving politely without eating. Perhaps this was just poor customer service. But I am hoping that our race had nothing to do with the fact that we were ignored and not served? One star is too many stars!!!!

There is something truly wrong with this place. We have lived in Fairfield for 6 years and over multiple visits to molto we have constantly been greeted with poor service and rude waitstaff. Last week we found a hair in our bread and after asking our waitress 3 times to replace the item, it took a call to the manager to get the bread taken away. And then the bread was never replaced. Not even an apology, As if we should eat the bread and the hair together. This kind of poor service is not uncommon, as you can see from multiple other reviews. Generally the food is decent but the absolute kicker is that over this period in time, 3 separate meals have caused serious food poisoning to 3 different people, 1 of which required a hospital visit. The first time you attribute to random chance, but 3 separate times is an obvious kitchen problem. I am concerned this establishment gets away with what they do due to good location and limited options in Fairfield. Go to tazza, lianas, or Quattro pazzi if you are looking for Italian in Fairfield!

Absolute worst managers/ customer service ever!!! If you happen to find yourself at this establishment, DO NOT pay with a credit card! Our server charged us for 2 different checks and my husband and I have called 4 times to try to correct their mistake! On my last call, I asked the manager to fix the problem so that I would not need to involve my credit card company... his reply? "Go ahead and call them... it would be easier for us, and I dont have time to deal with this." Hummmm... I told him that was very unfortunate. My husband and I both enjoy their resturant and I would hate for them to lose a customer over something silly like this. To which he retorted, "It doesnt really matter... I think we already have so what does it matter?" Molto owners, you have a 3 star review because of your managers idea of customer service. Great resturant. Fun atmosphere. But I will not be dining here until these jerks are gone.
