I wish there was a rating below "poor-fair" to describe the service. I agree with the other review that said they couldve left without paying and nobody would notice. We waited 40 minutes to place our order after sitting (took 20 minutes to get a beverage). I asked our busboy for a glass of seltzer but he didnt speak a word of english and had to retrieve the waiter. We were three women having salads and no alcohol- checking it out for a prewedding party. Perhaps we were not spending enough on this visit to receive any attention (at $19 for a salad I expect better service regardless) We will keep looking for a venue for all prewedding dinners. I would be embarassed to bring my family to Max40 when Prespa is next door and so much better. On to the horrible food. All of the dishes seemed to be missing something. I ordered the Fried Calamari app - it was close to the worst. It could not have been fresh, it was over cooked and the thick remoulade it was served with was awful and somewhat flavorless - tasted like pure mayonaisse. I didnt eat it - sent it back untouched but yet nobody questioned a full dish coming back to the kitchen. My bridesmaids salads were missing the dressing - it took 15 minutes to get the waiter back to ask for the dressing. We were asked if we wanted dessert - Certainly not - after 3 hours to have an app and salads I wanted to get out of there. Despite asking for the check, dessert menus were quickly dropped on our table before we could requuest the check again. another 15 minutes for the check. I regret going to this restaurant. I never will again. Aside from the pretentious, trendy boutique atmosphere - there is nothing else positive i could find here.

I always try a restaurant at least twice to see how consistent they are. Both times we went it was terrible. First time we ordered burgers medium-well. Mine was fine, my wife usually cuts hers in half so its easier to manage and it was raw inside, not rare, RAW. So they take it back to the kitchen and instead of making a new burger, they put it under the broiler which dried it out and melted the cheese right off the burger. Second time we ordered the Porterhouse for 2 ($90). The steak had so much gristle and fat that almost half of it was inedible. We mentioned it to the waiter and he talked to the guys in the kitchen who said "Yeah some of the cuts have some gristle"!!! Waiter said he felt sorry but didnt send the manager over, or take something off the $90 price or at least a free dessert!? Save your time and money and go to Barbaries Black Angus on Eagle Ave. MUCH Better.

Great food, but terrible service. We were a party of 9 and had made reservations for lunch. Initially the service was good until after our orders were taken. When our meals finally arrived, it was for only one side of the table and they were placed at the wrong seatings. We then waited 3 more minutes for the other side of the table to be served. We waited another 15 minutes for our coffee and deserts to be delivered, then the waiter disappeared for several minutes. When he returned, we mentioned we were missing a dessert, then we waited again. As a reference, Max 40 has a 20% gratuity for parties of 8 or more. The service did not warrant that kind of a tip. We wont be returning.

This place looks really nice. Love the decor. I wish they put the same effort into their food and service. They were both terrible! I could have cooked a better pasta dinner myself at home. The sauce in my dish was watery and the pasta was overcooked. Towards the end of the dinner the service got really bad to the point where if we walked out Im not sure anyone would notice. The bar scene there is pretty cool. So I would recommend this place for drinks only. Go get yourself a better dinner at Prespas next door.

My husband and I went there for Brunch and we asked for the brunch menu, we place our order and started to drink our mimosas. When we asked for the second mimosa is that we were told that well be charged $3,00 per each extra mimosa we ask. I found it very absurd and lack of respect : First of all is because the menu did not say anything about it... Second of all because we were not advised before making the request... DEFINITELY: No better place for Brunch than Barbaries Black Angus Grill...

The food was good, but the service was terrible . We had 11 people there for a graduation celebration. The waiter was very rude. When asked about gluten free items, he seemed annoyed to check items for us since they didnt have a GF menu (another negative). When we asked the hostess to talk to a mamager, one never came. The waiter never asked if we wanted more beverages, or how out food was. There are many great restaurants in Danbury that we will be happy to visit. Will not go back.

The place was a bit confusing to find. After finding the Restaurant the ambient was very nice and upscale. The steak was a bit Red for me and I asked for it to be Medium done. But no worries the waiter took care of it at once and the second go at it it was perfect. The Steak was seasoned well and it was very tender. I ordered the porterhouse for 2 and it was definitely made for two. I really enjoyed my time at this place and will recommend other to go as well.

Stylish and chic interior with subdued but not dark lighting. Outstanding staff - attentive and polite. I was there to meet friends in the bar - the 6 of us occupied a high top between the bar and the dining area. The burger I ordered was cooked perfectly rare and easily the best tasting burger Ive had in a long, long time. Wine by the glass selection was impressive and not outrageously expensive and darn good, too! Ill be back for sure!

Sat at the bar and after 25 minutes trying to get a cocktail. It isnt like the bartenders didnt see my friend and I...we asked (!!!) when they (3 bartenders behind the bar) had a chance if we could get a drink. The young people who walked up on either side got drinks; not us. We had been to a local event so we were over dressed for the crowd. This was around 11p on a Friday...A lot of young people.

My wife and I came here for dinner on a Sunday evening with another couple. We sat at the bar and had some raw bar items that were very fresh and our entrees were cooked perfect to our liking. The staff was very friendly and the bartender was absolutely amazing, she was pleasant to talk to and very professional. We will certainly come back again.

Went to dinner with some friends. The appetizers were all great. From wings, fried calamari to eggplant Neapolitan. Calamari was fresh and not over battered. Great wine list as well. Dinner was great. I had grilled salmon and it was on point. The wife had the seafood saffron risotto and it was very good. This is a great place for a night out.
