We had a really good experience here. We challenged the graciousness of their by bring two small children, and we also showed up early just in case they could accommodate us. It would have been fine if they hadnt, but they did. It made a difference. The service is very good, especially the front of the house. The wait staff? Not the best, but look, this is a mountain town in CO. Waiting tables is going to take third place after skiing and smoking pot, in some order. The food and drink were very good -- admittedly, they do not match the best restaurants in large cities, but heres the key: Its a French restaurant. Everything we ordered that was French (cheese plate, Cotes du Rhone, madeleines) or from Colorado (lamb), or both, was exceptional. When we strayed from that formula (pork belly) we were sorry. Hope this helps.

For the cost, the food and service is mediocre. On service, everyone is nice, but the front house management is lacking training or does not have the capacity to do so. On our breakfast visit, coffee and water ran out twice, plates were not cleared. This alone is sinful. Food-wise (for the cost), was nothing. Cold eggs, a tablespoon - at most - of some sausage hash should not have been mentioned on the menu. Literally a tablespoon. And coming back to kick the eggs, I could tell that they had been sitting a good while before it hit our table because they were literally dehydrated on the outsides! So 2 adults and 2 children for breakfast - 70 bones. Size matters, heat matters, service matters. The Larousse Gastronomique quotes in the bathroom parallel the new espresso machines in McDonalds.

Only in Vail can such mediocre food cost so much. As a part time Vail resident Ive eaten here over the years, but only often enough that I forget what its like by the next time. Our most recent meal was at a peak time during Christmas, a real test of a restaurant, which La Tour failed. How is it that the table isnt set for a 5:45 reservation? We had to wait. And wait for our apps, and wait for our entrees, which came at 7:30 and were totally dried out from being under a heat lamp. And salt. No lack of salt here! They emptied the salt content of the Atlantic into my escargot. Service was only attentive in pouring the wine, in a rush to sell us a second bottle. For the prices--entrees up to $54--this is ordinary food at best, and wasnt worth eating at all in our most recent experience.

My wife and I celebrated our 2nd anniversary by picking this quaint find in Vail Village after arriving that day and reading a few local reviews. We started off by sharing the Herloom Tomato Salad and Lobster Bisque. Both appetizers had unique flavors that set them appart from what you would expect from a traditional menu, which is exactly what we were looking for. She got the Chicken Paillard and I got the Colorado Lamb Trio. Again, top notch food, great tastes that you would only hope to get from an authentic French restaurant. The service was great - our server gave us plenty of guidance - even getting direct feedback from the chef on one of our questions. Overall, we recommend this to anyone that is looking for REAL FRENCH dining.

I am not one to write reviews unless everything was exceptional or horrible. I visited la tour with my family for lunch. The experience and food were very disappointing. The appetizer was good, but it arrived after I was finished eating my entree. The hamburger was cooked well but had a soggy bun. The vinegar chips as the only side was disappointing considering they are a very niche product that many people dont prefer. My wife never received the drink she ordered. Overall I feel like this restaurant offered far inferior service compared to other restaurants in vail, and the food quality was on par or poorer than restaurats half the price.

LaTour is one of our favorite restaurants in Vail. The cuisine is considered French, but I see it more as creative international. His brussel sprout side dish is a must ans are the shishito peppers. All of the lamb dishes are delicious and I can usually find a reasonably priced Rhone wine on the list. They have very nice special wine dinners where the food and wines are paired for you and there is an informative speaker. You can really tell that there is care in the kitchen as the Chef and his wife are usually there. The service can be uneven at times. I know it is difficult to maintain quality servers in a resort community.

This place is simply not that good. One of our guests went 0/3 out of the ordered appetizer entree and desert. None were good and one had to be sent back because it was not edible. The other dishes ordered were OK but nothing really impressed except a one shinning desert, the apple fig cake. This place is not horrible but save your money get some pizza and eat at larkspur a FAR better restaurant that earns their price point. This place must be running on reputation because they sure are not running on good food.

I ate at La Tour this past winter and was very disappointed. The cook poured so much salt on my meal my mouth was burning. I mentioned it to the waitress and she basically said tough noogies She did recommend that next time I came in I should mention it and they would hold back on the salt. I think either they do it to hide the poor quality food, or the chef has a bad habit. Sorry but for me there will not be a next time. However, I have had breakfast there and it was good.

My wife and I had an amazing experience here last night....6 course tasting menu with wine pairing, really well prepared dishes and creative dishes like octopus and bbqd oysters...Friendly and super knowledgable staff, especially the sommelier, beautiful summer night air coming in from the open patio....just an absolutely perfect meal. If you are in Vail, you must try this place, its obvious why they have been around for so many years. One of the best meals of my life.

Disappointed by the food. 4 of us went to Lunch and ordered all different meals 2 of us enjoyed our appetizers but did not like our main meals and the other two had previously come here for dinner and loved it but not their lunches.... The service was good and understanding but we wouldnt recomand lunch there too costly for the basic quality.

Excellent food and service. I visited here with my wife during off season and while it certainly was not busy, the staff were very attentive and helpful in our dining experience. All of the food was excellent and well prepared. I highly recommend the Pank Chicken Paillard and the Creme Brulee for a sweet ending.

They had a $25 all entrees special which they did not honor for a pick up order and then refused to switch out an order which we thought was vegetarian. All the items we ordered are small portions for a high price. They asked us to pay additional just to switch out the items. I would say that is bad service.

What I was looking for in a restaurant. Cozy, romantic, great food. The hostess was so accomadating. Waiter friendly and very helpful with wine and meal selections. Our table had à great outdoor/ street view and was near an indoor fireplace. Special evening at a special location. Very pleased!!
