We went here for dinner a couple months ago looking for some good Chinese food close to home. Were we ever disappointed. I ordered a scallop dish, and my girlfriend ordered cashew chicken. Both dishes were overpowered with heavy, thick, syrupy sauces, such that the underlying flavors of the foods were completely masked. The sauces were not appetizing, either. Further, the scallops were deep fried in an extremely thick breading, completely ruining the scallops, rendering them an overly soft and rubbery consistency, with none of the texture that normally makes scallops such an enjoyable part of any dish. The staff were friendly and nice, though not very observant (our waiter didnt even question me or ask if I was displeased with my food when I told him I didnt want a to go container for my almost entirely uneaten dinner...Id had maybe 2 bites before I gave up in disgust...) I highly recommend you stay away from this place if you want Chinese food and have standards higher than Panda Express (which, IMO, is far better than what is served here!) I wish I could select zero stars; its that bad!

I have been a loyal customer since the 1980s--and Yen King CONTINUES to have the best hot and sour soup, Kung Pao Triple Delight, Moo Shoo, Lemon Chicken, Sweet n Sour Pork, Mongolian Beef--and this is only part of the list--in the Denver area! The reason Yen King remains such a delight for lunch or dinner is the owners--previous and current. The Changs, (preveious owners) are good friends with the Lees (current owners) so none of the recipes changed. Believe me--have your business lunch or birthday dinner at Yen King if you love Chinese food--because it is truly THE BEST!!!! And my husband and my little girl will tell you the same!

The food here has always been delicious. Over the last year the maintenance of the place has declined. Last week we had lunch and the floors are SO dirty that there are dirt piles in the corners. The bathrooms are so filthy it makes me wonder what the kitchen looks like. The owners need to look at these reviews and on their closed day, do some deep really deep cleaning. The carpet, walls, tile and entry way need alot of help. Not sure we want to come back. Weve been coming here for years!!! Yes, the soup is to die for! I hope things will improve or we will have to find another place to go.

I have never written a review for a restaurant but dont want anyone to get burned like I did. We decided to try yen King because one review said for Denver, its better than most. Glad I didnt try anywhere else because it was the worst I have ever had and Ive had a lot of Chinese food. How do you go wrong with fried rice and sweet and sour chicken. The sweet and sour sauce was very salty, the chicken was very chewy, and the fried rice had little flavor.

Best place for great Chinese food in metro area. I gladly drive from longmont, just to eat here. Best hot and sour soup in Denver, hands down. Pu Pu platter is enough to feed an army, so we indulge in extras of with the appetizer. Thank you so much for your years of dedication to serving good food, I have been coming here for almost 15 years and no plans to change that.

I have eaton at nearly every Chinese Food Restaurant Across the denver metro area and this one is by far my favorite! I LOVE their food. Sometimes they can have an off night but so does every other Restaurant in the world. Its a small hole in the wall place run by a family. I will be coming back for a long time. LOVE!

First impression was very good. The staff was nice and friendly, getting my to go order ready in a matter of minutes. Ordered the szechuan chicken, got a free side of food poisoning. Spent the night doubled over in pain, sick as a dog... Needless to say, I wont be going back any time soon.

My family has loved this restaurant since we moved here over eleven years ago. The staff are always friendly, the location is always kept clean, and the food is delicious. My personal favorites are the pot stickers and wonton soup. Loyal customers.

Very hard working staff. We got a full meal; soup, egg roll, fried rice and our entree for less than most carry out places. Plus it was better food than any carry out place I have had in a long time. Best value I have seen in a long time.

We love this little local spot! Its always quiet and the service is quick. Kevin is usually our server and remembers our order. The delivery is great and order is always correct. Best sesame chicken in town!
