We eat here all the time. The owner is there most of the time, hes awesome and friendly, and really treats his regulars exceptionally. He gives us free goodies, tests out new rolls on us without charge, and even sometimes saves us the little mochi ice cream treats we loved so much at Mr. Sushi which he also runs down south, even though they arent on the menu at this sushi location. They take very good care of their fish, but for the very very best, Thursday and Friday and lunch time are amazing, and I have had the very best sushi I have found anywhere in the Denver metro at his stores. If there is ever a problem with anything, just bring it to the owners attention and he will do everything possible to make it right! At this point they even remember our usual drink orders and who doesnt like onions, etc. Really this place could not be any more awesome, and the guy who says he had bad fish below should have brought it to their attention. They would have fixed it immediately, and I am astonished he could find anything below average ever. That has never been my experience in the many times over the years we have eaten there at all sorts of days and times.

Im not really qualified to judge Sushi quality - whether this joint really serves the fish they have on the menu (youve read the articles, right?) and whether the fish is fresh enough (oh god, dont read those articles!). But it is friendly, the sushi is tasty, the sake goes down much too easy, they are nice to my kids. I really like the interior. Lowkey, not too bright, cozy without being cramped, quiet without being stilling. Its actually an old Wendys! But you cant tell from the inside.

Best Sushi in Denver. I have eaten Sushi in CA, NY, FL, CO, UT and I lived in Japan. This is the best Sushi stateside outside of Los Angeles. It is better than Sushi Den which is good. But Halu Sushi is great. I have been dozens and dozens of times and have never had a bad meal. And I have never ever gotten sick. Can you say that about almost any restaurant. It is really the best you can eat. And in Golden no less. Marvin is a great host and gentleman!

My husband and I love this place! The owner is great and always remembers us, friendly service and wait staff. The food is great we go for the sushi and love it and its in our preice range. Great value, awesome food, and out standing customer service! I cant even believe there are bad reviews on this place, we take our friends there all the time and they have some of the best sake I have had!

I have eaten here six times with various friends and family. Each time has been exceptional and I find myself wanting to go back as soon as possible. I enjoy the atmosphere, the friendliness and professionalism of the staff, and, of course, great sushi. Have tried many of their items and delighted with all. A feast for all the senses. My favorite sushi place!

The service was apathetic, the food was vile and the ambiance had a feeling of something trying too hard to be pretentious. Everywhere else weve had sushi the fish was smaller than the rice it sat on but at Haru they seem to have this arrangement backwards. On top of all of this the meal was incredibly expensive. We will not go back.

Visited the Golden area for a business trip and decided to try Halu based on all the positive reviews. Having been to MANY sushi restaurants across the U.S., I was not impressed with this one. The service seemed rushed, and the sushi rolls were very bland. Very disappointed with the overall experience.

Dont be scared off by the unfortunate Wendys exterior - we almost left because of the "low-quality chain restaurant" vibe, but we decided to try it, and were so glad we did! The inside has a much better vibe. The food was great, and the service was good! I enjoyed everything I got except the tofu sushi roll.

The food is real good. Unfortunately, I order takeout more often than I eat in the restaurant, and I can tell you that you should count on 1) your order being ready in about twice as long as they tell you on the phone, and/or 2) your order being incorrect when you pick it up. Fix this and this place gets a 5.

This place has pretty good sushi at very reasonable prices, and excellent service. We go in there in big groups and our food is out fast, and they never have problems splitting the check many ways. The family that owns and runs it is great and always friendly. I would definitely recommend it.

A sushi staple in south Golden, Halu is a great blend of atmosphere, great service and excellent food. I particularly like the Golden Roll and Salmon Sashimi. This is a bit of a hidden gem in Golden, so treat yourself (they are very reasonably priced though) and have a sushi night out at Halu!

My husband and I frequently go to this restaurant and are always satisfied! We take friends and family there as well and were always surprised. Not only to they have great sushi but they also have fantastic dinner meals for those who are sushi weary.

Borderline, at best. There are MUCH better options, nearby. Their Lo Mein lacks flavor, and is "mushy". Their sushi is on par with Walmarts offering. Their fried rice is overcooked, and under-seasoned. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone.

Ive been here probably 6 times and have tried many of the items on the menu. The Red Rock roll is delicious the golden muscles and seafood soup are also very good. The place is clean and the service is good.

Quaint sushi place that was once a McDonalds serving warm week old fish and offering horrible slow service, followed by violent and painful diarrhea and vomiting for the whole family. Avoid at all costs

Delicious! I ordered the caterpillar roll and tuna roll. The quality of the fish was really great. I had some of my friends salmon sashimi and it was a great cut and tasty!
