Wasnt really impressed with this place it was my first time ever coming in and my last. I really cant stand places like this. Where the employees are rude as hell for no reason and get mad just because you ask a flippin question. The guy who made my food was just throwing stuff into my burrito without me even telling him I wanted it in there. When I told him I didnt want rice in my burrito after he just put it in there, he threw the rice back into the pan like a cry baby. So when I told him I wanted an additional type of salsa in my burrito he looked at me like I was an idiot and was like "wait what I already put medium salsa in your burrito I dont understand what you want". I look down and he has the burrito already wrapped up and plops the other salsa I wanted on top. I was like seriously dude Im not even done ordering yet and you already got my burrito wrapped up? Then when I asked him how much chips came with the chips and salsa he once again looks at me like Im retarded and literally says "it comes in a container" lol so I say "ok well what kind of container sir Im not firmiliar with your container sizes" so he grabs one of the burrito containers, shows me and throws it back where it was at. At this point I was just done with his attitude and walked to the check out so I could get the hell out of there before I yelled at the guy. No reason for that type of temper tantrum behavior it was a simple question. I want to know what Im buying before I buy it you know!? Never coming back here again Ill take my business to Qdoba. Its too bad, the food was half decent.

Cafe Rio is located across the street from the Lakewood Mall on Lakewood Blvd. It is next to Pieology Pizzeria and adjacent to Cost Plus World Market. Cafe Rio is similar to Chipotle, but with more options like enchiladas & nachos and the bonus of handmade tortillas. I decided upon the recommended and most popular sweet pork barbacoa burrito, enchilada-style. Huge portions on this behemoth, served in a convenient aluminum tin to take home any leftovers. The pork was tender and juicy. I asked cheese for my salad and it complimented the crisp lettuce. The employee asked if I wanted the medium sauce on my burrito, to which I agreed. However, I would decline next time. Its too sweet for my taste. Almost cloylingly sweet. Your taste may differ, since Im more of a savory kind of fella, but I would at least ask for the medium sauce on the side to adjust to taste. Despite that, I think Cafe Rio offers customers quality food options in a clean environment. Service was quick & friendly. Im definitely coming back to try something else on the menu, perhaps their quesadillas or for Taco Tuesday. Recommend! NOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOM

I never complain about service, but I just left and had an exceptionally rude lady. I ordered a salad with barbacoa, and when she asked which beans I wanted I said, "neither" but she put pinto beans on it anyway. When I mentioned that I didnt want beans she said, "I asked you!" Then she scowled and very hastily threw it in the trash (she seemed very angry). She quickly made it again but put very little meat on it. I was going to ask for extra rice because I only get rice, lettuce, and cheese, so not many fillers, but I decided not to press my luck. She also ended up being the one to ring up my order since they were slow, and she just handed me my receipt, with no "thank you" or anything - not even a snippy "have a nice day." Im sorry she was having a rough day, but I didnt do anything wrong and only nicely asked her to fix a mistake. If she hadnt heard me, she couldve just asked. The little bit of food I got was good, though, and Ive had good experiences at other Cafe Rio locations so Ill try again and hope for better service.

It was a mixed bag. My first time there. I went for a quesadilla plate. They had a sign that described the entrees, what was in it and showed a picture of it. But when you order they dont include anything you do not specifically say you want. I pointed to the picture, saying THAT is what I want. He rattled off a list of ingredients which I could varely hear him say. He was unfriendly and impatient yet there was no crowd, no need to push me through quickly. in the picture it was all on a bed of lettuce so I figured they would include at least that, but instead I got a greasy chicken quesadilla in a tin pan with a side of guacamole. The guacamole was good. The rest, didnt seem so fresh. The tea is not fresh brewed either but they do have a wider selection of drinks than most.

The food was fine at this location. However, I ended up leaving my wallet at their store on my way from Denver to Utah. They did send my wallet back to me, but when I got it back there was over $100 cash missing from inside. I let the manager know that I got the wallet but that the money was missing and he didnt even bother to respond!!! Im a loyal Cafe Rio customer, but this experience has totally turned me off from wanting to have anything to do with it or the "trusted" employees whom they hire. Terrible experience to say the least.

Good fast-casual burritos, salads and tacos for a decent price. The local Cafe Rio locations have $5 (or $5.50, I cant remember) burritos and salads on Tuesdays, so the rush is always pretty bad. The secret is to order online on a Tuesday and skip the line when you pick up your food. Other than the occasional wait, Ive only had good experiences at this location.

Homemade tortillas are a perfect start. Pork barbacoa also a huge winner. Only drawback IMO is that their salsa/sauces have little kick. I get Medium and Hot mixed - the hot is more like an enchilada sauce (tasty, but not very spicy). Enchilada style is my preference (they melt cheese on top of the burrito/sauces). Plus - $5 Tuesdays FTW!!!!!

Food is good but the guy at the front of the serve line is a jerk. All the other employees are nice and generous with portions its just the one guy who seems like hes in charge thats rude and unhappy with his job. Depending on his mood you may get a normal burrito or a super skimped one. Plan on skimped with this guy

My 15 year old little sister in law wanted to stop here for lunch before shopping at the Mills. Think bland Chipotle meets cheesy decorations with a multi-tap Horchata-esque fountain. Family friendly and fairly affordable, yeah. Hot date? Hell no. Plenty of hot sauce options though.

Average taco place. Fresh made tortillas and generous meat portions are a positive. Rice was a bit under cooked and they charge extra for sour cream. I understand guacamole, but sour cream? Other Mexican restaurants include sour cream in there price and are still more affordable.
