This is my favorite Mexican restaurant and Ive tried a lot of places. They used to have one in Boulder and I would go and always order the same thing since it was so perfect. Since I never stray from this order it is possible they make other stuff that isnt good. Ive never tried their beef, chicken, fish or pork dishes for example. But here is what is good: their salsa is outstanding (chilled, with chile flavoring that is very different from other places); the salsa is the most important thing - without it I couldnt give a good review to a place. Then there are the rellenos which are excellent (soft or crispy) with a really good vegetarian sauce. Their enchiladas are absolutely perfect. And finally they have a pretty good bean tostada. Currently I actually have to make a pilgrimage to Longmont to get satisfaction. I have talked with people who dont like this place and instead gave their preference and I was not impressed (no names mentioned here). With good music, and a cerveza with lime (Dos Equis) it is truly sublime there. Im going to go there right now which was what prompted this review since I saw a 1-star rating and thought it was so lame it was funny.

My experience in this place is cuestionable. when mybhusban and I.get to the restaurant the host was polite, then we sit us in a good place. The the waitress nice at first in a faster way bring us all we ordered, in a posterior moment he said is all you going to order? we answer that yes and in the next moment he bring the check 0_o?? at first we dont say anything, but we barely at begging to eat our plate. I felt than sign as an invitation to go. When the host step by our table We said about the incident and our feel that was wrong, truly I felt a little discrimination from the waitress but this will be the funny. We are Mexicans and are suffering this kind of trate in a Mexican restaurant how hilarious. anyway She, the hostess apologized by the behavior of the waitress and later the waitress came and said if everything was ok, but this never apologized. Ummm the food was good, the place is nice, but I dont think came back, the experience was bittersweet. They must be carefully with this kind of things. the can give you a bad reference like this.

This is a very good balance between price and quality. There are a few places around that are better, but youll pay a lot more, and there are places that are cheaper (or even similar prices) that have worse food. So theres not much more to say beyond that. The service is generally been very good (or at least the quality you would expect), and it seems like we usually get in and have our food pretty quick. Overall its one of my favorite Mexican places. Oh, and the atmosphere is nice, with the carved tables and chairs. Weekends are the best because they have a Mexican harpist (guy playing a giant harp) and supposedly other music (though Ive only seen the harpist - and hes surprisingly good, even though I cant say Ive ever been interested in Mexican Harp music before). I keep going back, and would happily recommend it to anyone.

Food was decent. I like the red sauce as its different from other places. I would eat here again. But... the service was poor. We asked for a booth and I think they were trying to keep us in someones section as their were other booths available but we had to wait 8 minutes for one booth to be cleaned. They were not very busy. But waited 10 min to get water which was served in dirty cups, had floaters... we ordered food and drinks at same time. Since we had so long to look through the menus. We received our food before our drinks (which was house marg and beer). Margarita... for being a place known for their margs Id say I would not reccd. Mine tasted like watery tequila.

Although the food is pretty good, these people are thieves. In the year I have lived here, I have had more money added to the tip on several occasions. I rarely keep receipts but I write down the amount immediately so I know what I spent. And on 4 different occasions my bank statement will show more money must have been added on. Its so sad that people are that desperate especially when you leave a proper tip. I will not be eating there again nor will my company have lunches there anymore...so disappointed.

I was immediately impressed with the colorful decor and assumed the food was going to be just as impressive. After all the menu states the recipes are the owners grandparents recipes. However, the food was so bland it was so reminiscent of frozen Mexican TV dinners, that even my caucaian husband, joked that the food taste more like they were his grandparents recipes.

Got food posioning from here. Was hospitalized for two days, will never ever go back. Update: So its official LA Mariposa is where I got norovirus. The health inspector came back to confirm their food tested positive for it. Not just that but they found employees were not washing their hands, some where sick and more than 2 people handled food with no gloves.

The food is so good but the service is terrible. It was so busy and they only had two waiters! I felt so bad for them. I had to wait and wait for a waiter to service us and they forgot our guacamole....I felt like I had to actively flag somebody down to get what I needed. Please get more servers so customer service is more attentive and better.

Colorful decorations and beautiful tables, the chips and salsa are delicious. Probably some of the best salsa Ive ever had! The chili releno was more like a fried wanton, the carnitas burrito was bland the meat was burned and tough to chew, the green chili was bland. Never coming here again.. the salsa was the only thing my wife and I enjoyed..

I love this place. The food has always been good. The cocktails are good. That being said, 1/2 the time I get slow service. One time they were obviously understaffed. Just left there and had a great experience. Give it a try, and then again.

The food here is just terrible. Just. terrible. Do yourself a favor, skip this place and hit the gas station on the way home, grab one of those taquitos that theyve had rolling around for a couple of days and save yourself 20 bucks.

I ordered the Tacos al Carbon. I must say they were very juicy and exploding with flavor. The staff was very friendly and wanted us to have a comfortable experience. I have always had a great time here and will continue to come.

Food tasted freezer burnt and by no means made in the kitchen. The chips and salsa, and margaritas were good. Will never eat here again and would never recommend this place to anyone

Had to ask for draws. Wait 20 min before asking again. Had to find someone. Shrimp was bad. Tuned my hole meal. No service. No help. No going back. Go here if you dont value yourself.
