I cant speak to their food, only their service. My family of six walked in early today (a Friday), 2 January. No one greeted us and after several minutes of standing at the entrance, I was left to assume that we were supposed to seat ourselves. We selected a table immediately inside the door and waited for someone to greet us. There were (rather I assume were) two or three servers behind the bar in the back of the restaurant, chatting, and another one or two wait staff helping other customers. It seemed a chill atmosphere. It was obvious there were regulars occupying tables (playing cards?), but it wasnt terribly busy. I was facing into the restaurant and waited for someone to acknowledge that there was a six-top waiting for service. Nothing. No one acknowledged us. Not even a quick, "Hey! Be right with you!" It was as if we didnt exist...felt very odd. After probably five minutes, we decided to give someone else our discretionary dining dollars. We stood up to leave and a server who had been walking (belatedly) toward the front where we were sitting (which hed done before only to veer off and help someone else at least once before) walked up to the table wed vacated and began arranging the chairs as if wed been remiss in not putting them back in place before wed left. I mean...Im not stupid and I know it probably wasnt on purpose, but the whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth. As he saw that we were leaving -- walking toward us -- there was still no acknowledgement or apology or anything. Just began straightening our abandoned chairs.. They may be fantastic if youre single or a couple, but for this family, anyway, they werent welcoming.

We liked their true ciders, thought it was a bit expensive, not a great bar experience as we had to stand in line for 10 minutes before ordering, and their food could be improved. Citra hopped cider was our favorite, by far. It is very floral from the hops but its not bitter, citrus sings through, slightly creamy from the lychee. Overall its a citrus summery symphony. We didnt care for either of the barrel aged stuff, which normally I do, but each tasted too much like a wine or oak barrel and not enough tart cider. Also didnt like the jalapeño cider, as a taster it was refreshing but at the end it was too much. Basic bar food and thats what Im knocking them for, it could be better with the space they have available Service was fairly limited. Order at the bar, when done we couldnt tell if we just leave the glasses or clean the table off ourselves. It was farmers market night and since theyre located off main, it was busy. Wait 10 minutes, backed up to the door busy. I just thought they could do better with more workers and a different layout (counter only allows 2 to work right now) Price was a little surprize, but the flight was a good experience once. $14 fill for 32oz growler, $14 5 part sampler and $3 for each of their specialty cask samples.

Fun outdoor atmosphere. They specialize in microbrews and ciders and they are wonderful. They have a smoke house and serve smoked meat sandwiches which are very tasty. At this place you order your food and beverage yourself at the bar. We walked in as a first time customer and we were confused as to exactly what to do. There isnt anyone to greet you at the door and no sign (that I could see) to tell you what to do. There were employees at the bar who looked at us like we should know what to do? So for anyone visiting The Old Mine for the first time please know you seat yourself. The front seating is easily seen. The outdoor seating you must go thru the back end of the building. It looks like a warehouse but go through anyway. When you find a seat dont sit there to long without going back inside to the bar to order your beverage and food. Dont be confused at the bar either. If its busy you might think people are standing there drinking. But no, you order at the bar and there is a defined line starting at the sign above your head that says "order here". The bartenders were friendly and offered us samples to make our decisions on our brews and cider.

Went with my family and was refused service because after 5 minutes of scanning and huddling around my NY drivers license they determined it was fake. Ive been in CO for a year and this has never ever happened. My drivers license is absolutely real and Im almost 25 years old. Learn how to verify ids if youre gonna run a bar, especially a drivers license from a state like NY. Also,it appeared to me that they were attempting to pass off their tap beers as house beers by not listing the name of the brewer. When I asked about their house beers I was informed that they only make cider, which was not clear from the menu at all. Wouldve have loved to review your actual product but I wasnt allowed to get that far due to your inept bar manager whose scanners and flashlights couldnt verify a normal, current New York State drivers license.

Finally a great spot to eat in Erie that is welcoming for a couple of friends to enjoy a brew or to bring the family for a night out. The atmosphere is excellent with the old brick building accented by steel and wood. They have 99 unique bottles of beer on the wall and a great selection of beer and hard cider on tap. Ive never been a big fan of cider, but I must say this is really good and worth a try. The staff is extremely friendly and you can tell they are proud of what they have going here. Im proud to have a quality place like this in Erie, finally! Pizza is probably the best around and the pork sandwich was excellent. Great sauces, perfect bun, moist and flavorful meat and really good cole slaw. Perfect combo. We are looking forward to going back soon.

I was drawn in by the scent of smoked meat wafting down the street. The dry rubbed ribs were delicious, delivered in greater portion than expected, and served with half a dozen BBQ sauces to choose fro.. I enjoyed their excellent Citra Hopped cider sitting under an umbrella in their "back yard" amidst the laughter and conversation of other patrons. This is everything a Colorado brewery should be! So, I mustache you a question: Why arent you here already?

Im writing this because of respect to the owner. I like the products, cider, pizza, etc. Its good quality....the only two times I have been there eating this quality food and drinking a beer, the atmosphere was loud kids playing games (I guess provided by the restaurant).... For $40 -$50, I would rather hear quality music than out of control, unsupervised children, eating Cheezy bread! Sorry owner, I truly want success for you.. so I had to chime in.

I really like this place. When they first opened, they were totally unique in the area, as craft hard cider was in its infancy. You can tell by looking around that the people who run this place came out of the craft beer world, and theyre bringing a lot of fascinating techniques along from beer. For example, theyre barrel-aging cider, theyre dry-hopping it, theyre doing interesting beer/cider blends. Definitely check this place out!
