Being a jaded New Yorker, I came here on the recommendation from a friend during a cross country road trip, one in which I was trying to be terse and efficient in my route and timing. At first blush, the Weathervane Cafe is an eclectic gem in an unassuming carriage house in uptown Denver, replete with repurposed vintage decor evoking a cozy, intimate vibe. But underneath this surface level first impression, replicated in dozens of hipster locales from Brooklyn to Ojai, is a deeply rooted hospitality, integrity, and passion for good food, strong coffee, and vibrant conversation. Owners Lindsay and Alex Dalton have created a unique diamond in the rough by truly caring about the neighborhood, their clientele, and how and where they source their products and ingredients (almost all from within Colorado). Perusing their wide array of quirky greeting cards, artisanal jams and spreads, and natural herbal tinctures, whilst sipping my cold pressed coffee, I was struck by the honesty of their entrepreneurial integrity. In New York, even the small, individually owned coffee joints have a feeling of pomposity and disingenuous kitschiness due to the astronomical price for a cup of joe, necessary to pay the rent. But at The Weathervane, the price is great, the coffee delicious, and the vibe genuine. My culinary choices on the trip thus far had been bland, fried, and dietarily questionable, but that all changed when I bit into the most delicious strawberry/rhubarb scone that I have ever had the pleasure to experience. I chased the scone with their breakfast burrito, filled with hash browns, egg, and pepper jack, all perfectly folded into a soft on the inside, crunchy on the outside tortilla wrap. Topped with homemade salsa, this mouth orgasm reminded me that the antidote to the malaise of truck stop fare was easily and heartily remedied with a dose of home cooking, where fresh ingredients matter, and the main one is love. Though it was an all too quick stopover, it was absolutely vital in reinvigorating my excitement to get back on the road for the final third of my voyage. No longer dreading the next, inevitable truck stop pit stop, I said a final farewell to the friendly staff, got a hug from owner Lindsay, and walked to my car satisfied and sated, not just in my stomach, but in my heart. And with a scone for the road, I knew that feeling would stay with me throughout the day.

Gosh I love this place. Dont be fooled by the smallness of the area around the baristas: theres a whole nother floor and balcony upstairs with plenty of seating in an impossibly well decorated setting. The coffee is brilliant, their hatch green chili scones are awesome, and I have had lovely conversations with the baristas every time Ive been inside that make me feel like Ive popped into a neighbors house for a visit. This place is definitely better for a cup of coffee than lunch, FYI, but the breakfast deals are fabulous and everything tastes great.

Probably top 3 Cafes in Denver or Colorado for that matter. Its my favorite place to study. Owned and operated by one of the sweetest, nicest couples Ive ever had the pleasure of knowing. The shop is always clean, lots of good light, music is invariably good, and the products, as well as the service are stellar. The food is prepared with wholesome ingredients and with lots of love. Plus, the little shop is stocked with great gifts for you or a friend. Seriously, if I had barista experience, I would apply for a job here! Best of the best!

We really like this little place. We especially enjoy their Corvus espresso and Huckleberry coffees. Plus, their food selection is varied and tasty UNLESS, you are allergic to peanuts or tree nuts; then you cannot eat at The Weathervane. I must say, that we have noticed that it appears that unless you are a frequent patron, dont expect much "love" from the baristas especially if you are over 35. Yet, we go for the coffee and for the ambiance, which counts for a 4 star review.

There are two ways I judge coffee shops - the coffee and the atmosphere. The Weathervane Cafe had great coffee, although they didnt have any drip ready, so I settled for an americano. The espresso in the americano was fantastic though; very flavorful and expressive! The atmosphere was alright, but a bit cluttered and small to be working in. I felt like if I had set up a laptop to write, the barista would have been looking at me the whole time.

Loved the cozy atmosphere at this local business. I appreciated the healthy affordable options, quiet rooms, outside seating, and an interesting menu. Especially cool that they use homemade syrup- the lavender mixed with vanilla was great in an Italian soda. The egg sandwhich had just the right amount of greens! Not the fastest place, not much seating for big groups, and the price of a local business are the only downsides.

I love this place. They are serious about their coffee and they have a very nice (but small) menu of really fresh food options. Try the spicy beef sandwich with pickled carrots! The shop itself is so charming, very comfortable and well designed 2 story house. The people here, both staff and customers, are really nice too. I have a really memorable experience every time I visit. Wait, is that weird?

Ive been going to the Weathervane for years, and it is my favorite place to meet people for a coffee or a quick bite. The place itself is adorable, with seating options from the cozy downstairs, to the quiet study area upstairs, and even a rooftop patio. The menu is creative and delicious. The people who work there are incredibly pleasant and cheerful.

My favorite place in the neighborhood! The staff is very friendly and the food is great! They offer good vegan/veggie options in brunch/lunch meals. The cafe is in an old house, and is beyond cute. I come here every weekend to relax on the porch with my dog. I recommend trying the coconut sesame salad with the coconut chia pudding and mix them together.

This place is a real gem. I only got coffee and food to go, so I didnt have a chance to check out the upstairs, but Ill certainly return. The people are very friendly, and damn, that orange & clove syrup in my latte made for a unique drink! Breakfast burrito was also delicious. Totally recommend checking them out for a quality break from the norm.

As if a Colorado mountain cabin with kitschy 70s decor suddenly got plopped into central Denver and decided to serve excellent coffee. Atmosphere downstairs feels urban and fun with good (Id a bit loud) music, upstairs is quieter, bright and cozy and a great space to work. Filling and tasty breakfast burritos and on-point coffee drinks.

I booked a four night stay at the London Tower Bridge, having stayed here several years ago. I was given a refurbished executive King room on the 11th floor. The room is good for one person ... just ok for two (in terms of size) Its décor is outstanding and it has lots of power points (so vital today)

Really hip place without being too over the top. Employees are always in a great mood and happy to serve you. Their coffee is really good. It is located in an old style single-family home which adds to the charm. Great spot. I usually go out of my way for their coffee even though St. Marks is closer.

The Weathervane is a neighborhood gem! This is not your typical coffee house...it has a warm and comfortable aesthetic and the service is always friendly. Great local coffee and tea drinks plus their food menu is yummy too. Im addicted to their sandwiches :). I highly recommend the Weathervane!
