Coffee is mediocre and they need to change their policy about not allowing outside food inside the coffee shop. They have a limited selection of baked goods that sit in a refrigerator and is heated up in a microwave. If they were serving super high end hipster booshie third wave coffee and had a full working kitchen then maybe I could understand the "no outside food" police but Bardo has none of these scenarios. The is an archaic police that only serves the coffee house and not the customer. A fellow customer was in mid "nom nom nom" when a scruffy barista reminded him of the "policy." "Hey man, we dont allow outside food here. Youll have to take it outside." Meanwhile I secretly ate a cliff bar at my table and escaped the every watchful surveillance eye Mr. scruffy hipster barista. Im such a rebel. On the upside of things it is a cool atmosphere that is relatively chill and quite. Unless you happen to sit next to the people that are obnoxiously loud. You can hear their conversation from across the shop. I do like how people are encouraged to share tables. It is annoying to have one person hogging a table all to themselves. A great opportunity to meet new friends.

If I could set up my office in Bardo, I would. It is my favorite place to go to write and have tea and pastries or a sandwich or anything really. All their food is good, and the company is the best. It is relaxed and friendly, and really a neighborhood community. They have a variety of sitting options, booths, tables, couches, and they are all comfortable. Their wifi is easy, a plus for the technologically handicapped (me). Their music is good but not intrusive, and I swear the manager has some kind of good food sorcery because she managed to find H&H bagels, and buy them locally. All the food they get locally is great. And now they have the best ice cream too, Sweet Action Ice Cream from down the street. They have a little of everything, and nothing is complicated or snooty or overwhelming. It is simply the best place to relax or work with a good cup of anything, in Denver.

Bardo is a breath of fresh air for the coffee house scene in Denver. The staff are extremely friendly, timely and attentive to the customer. The first moment I entered Bardo I felt welcomed and at home. The cafe is divided into three distinct sections. The front has the traditional tables and chairs with a very open and spacious feeling. A great place to enjoy one of the BEST cups of coffee in Denver. The middle section has booths, each with plugs for the computer and a dimmer for your overhead light. The back section is filled with couches, chairs, lamps, coffee tables etc.... This section is fantastic and gives a real home feel. The wifi is consistent and reliable. I have entertained business clients here and the atmosphere and staff have impressed my clients.

Good atmosphere and location and very friendly staff, but I must say, the barista made one of the worst cappuccinos Ive ever had, and the Latte, which is a much more forgiving drink, was just OK.... Especially troublesome because they use Kaladi Trieste, which is by far one of the easiest shots to pull. Also, no such thing as a 12 oz cappucino (or 16 or 20)... thats typically a sign of a place thats catering more to Americans with no taste than a connoisseur (read: Starbucks), which is fine, model your business however you want to, but my advice is this: if you simply enjoy "coffee" without being able to distinguish between good and bad, then youre clear. If you actually care about espresso, steer clear until they train their baristas.

Normally I would give this coffee shop five stars but after my last visit it only deserves one star. The guy that works there(I think its the owner) is there every time I come in. He always seems like he is in a bad mood but I brush it off. I have been coming to this coffee shop off and on for the past two years. The guy was extremely rude and standoffish and how he spoke to my friend and I(two times) was extremely embarrassing and rude. I will NEVER go back to the Bardo Coffee shop and will take my money elsewhere. The coffee and hot chocolate is good but if you are a minority and you want respect Id suggest you try another place.

Frequent customer. Atmosphere is pretty good, coffee is decent, wifi is reasonably fast. The late hours are nice for people that work from home and work late. My only real gripe is that it gets crowded. This isnt really the fault of Bardo so much as just a side-effect of being one of the only places on Broadway open late-ish and not a bar. I suggest that if you are coming in to work/read/whatever, and the front area is full, you make sure there is room in the back before ordering. If you cant find space, Metropolis Coffee a few blocks up is great, and Mutiny is also pretty good.

It was just a quick visit to grab coffee with a friend, but I loved the atmosphere, and the barista was genuinely nice. There are 2-3 tables outside on the front patio. Inside, there are typical booths & table/chair setups in the front, and then several coaches & comfy chairs in the back section. I was there on a Saturday night from 5:30-6:30, and it was very quiet in the back area on the couch. I plan to go back and try out more of their drinks, and perhaps some food. But for now, I recommend you pay them a visit.

The drink was good. Register was operated by underage child, and her older tattooed mother has no sense of humor, and is hostile toward people ordering a hot chocolate in German. Lady may have tats, but wasnt friends to folks carrying bags from the road... Maybe she is having a bad day, or maybe she is insecure about foreign languages being spoken around her, but... rude and boringly normal.

Support your local coffee shop! This place is great even though is does not have free open and public WIFI unless you buy something (or pay for a 2 hour pass) the coffee and food is amazing and way better than something like Starbucks. There is a fair amount of space to work on either a table with chairs, a booth, or cozy couches and love seats! Absolutely check this place out!

Simply put, this is Denvers best coffee house. Great staff, good music (but not too loud) lots of places to sit and relax, great booths for working, and always a lot of interesting people coming in and out. Has some food (Savories from Buffalo Doughboy!) a shelf with some communal books and games, and some outdoor seating for those who smoke. Oh, and the wifi is super fast.

What can I say they are always open when I am in need of coffee. Their mixed coffee drinks are good, they have totally got that awesome "small coffee shop" atmosphere and its simply fun. Sometimes its a bit crowded but I guess that simply shows how many Bardo lovers are out there! Keep up the good work! Special thumbs up for the staff- They are great at what they do.
