The shop itself is always very clean, restrooms included. The ambience is like a Norman Rockwell painting of a home in the winter, snowing and sitting by the fire very calming and homey. The staff is a toss up depending on the day. Some days attentive happy people. Some days they take order then rush to get back to the conversation they had started before you interrupted. The coffee and other drink are very good, and they have monthly specials on the chalkboard. The biggest problem is the staff is very timid and afraid of upsetting customers. For example they had a large table of teenagers being very loud, so loud even the customers with headphones on were being bothered by the noise. I asked the employees they were very loud asked them to see if they could ask them to quiet a little. The room upstairs is very large with high ceilings so sound really echoes. The employee walked to the room where they were seating witnessed the loud yelling and laughing did not talk to them and went back behind counter. She must not have seen me sitting in comfy chair behind door. They were still loud and when I asked employee she said she talked to them and asked them to quiet down?? She never talked to them! The 2 other people in our group were downstairs by fireplace. We told them we were going to sit in car until they were ready to leave. The gentleman sitting next to us said he was wearing noise cancelling headphones and still could concentrate on what he was working on. One reason we go there is the "comfy" furniture. Starbucks removed most of armchairs and overstuffed chairs. We went in the the comfy stuff were all occupied so we sat at a table. The two ladies sitting in armchairs by the fireplace got up and walked outside after finishing their drinks leaving backpacks next to chairs. No biggie maybe grabbing something out of car, or popped for a smoke. 10, 20, now 40 minutes they have not come back? I asked the employee if they could put their backpacks behind counter so we could use the armchairs. The employee got this dazed confused look on his face and said but thats their stuff.... I said the left over 40 minutes ago he just stared at me. The ladies were walking laps around the shopping center, LoL. We came in last Friday and went upstairs to find 3 teens all with water one each asleep on couch and the 3rd asleep in chair! An employee was up there wiping table ignoring that they had people sleeping there, again employees too timid to talk to I guess they were customers sleeping and drinking free water. I am disabled and used to go there 3 times a week and were there 3-4 hours each time. We spend at least 20 dollars every time, not just getting a cup of drip and sitting there getting free refills LoL. We really loved the shop so much we live in way eastern Aurora and drive there 3 times a week. Maybe New management has taken over but we are down to once a week maybe, just sad to lose a coffee shop that felt like home.

Solid Grounds Coffee House follows the coffee shop formula to its bland conclusion. The polished wooden interior gives one the impression that this is what someone read in a magazine of how a coffee house should look like. It kind of felt like a mix between Central Perk and Starbucks. The shop itself can not be blamed I suppose, because the client base I saw seemed to be the same people you would see in a Starbucks or doing a stint as a background extra on the Friends set. Lots of soft pastel sweaters and knee high boots. I was very excited to see that they carried Coda coffee, however I was dismayed to find out that the only available brewing method was drip. No aeropress, no pour over, and no french press. The quality of the Coda Ethiopian was lost because the thin brew of the drip coffee didnt allow for full water to coffee interaction. The young man behind the counter explained the client base didnt demand those systems so they werent brought in. Thirty years ago Americans didnt order lattes, yet bold minds insisted on exposing people to something more. So bummed, who says the market rewards innovation? The ambiance was pleasant and soft. Simple, full of water colors and acoustic ukulele music. Once again I reference the aforementioned article of what a coffee shop should be. Its not bad, and its not great, its just... there. Solid Grounds, like the biblical reference I suppose is implied, has built their house on the rock solid model of what it takes to survive in the coffee world. Sadly, surviving is not thriving. ~A

This place used to be my favorite coffee house in all of Denver. Today, they allowed a group of incredibly loud, rude and obnoxious women to invade the store and hang paintings. They were loud, demanded people (including myself) move without a polite consideration, and one of their paintings immediately fell, smashing the table and floor (fortunately no one was sitting there but I easily could have been). You guys just lost a 2 year, loyal customer for quite a while.

Great coffee options here, as well as non-caffeinated options for people who arent into that. They have bottomless coffee for long work hauls and awesome smoothies for a fresh twist. The food is great too and my personal favorite drink is the Cookies and Creme Blender. Its kind of like a Starbucks frappucino except this place has way more flavor options. Me and my friends love going here to hang out or study.

Disappointed with the new changes. Used to be open till 9pm and now only open till 8pm. The drink choices have truly been cut to the bare bones. My favorite hot apple cider is no longer on the menu. Many of the food options have been eliminated as well. They have redesigned the table layout to something that seems cold and open, and no longer has that cozy-private nook feel. Truly not liking the changes.

Just went there for the 1st time yesterday and my bf and I were really impressed! Its a really big shop but feels like a very cozy atmosphere. The drinks were really good, iced Chai tea and an iced sweet coffee. The guy and girl working were very welcoming, we will definitley go back again. Being from Portland, Oregon we are so happy to see a real coffee shop instead of anouther crap Starbucks.

I love the staff and owners, such wonderful people who care about their work. I also love the location of this independently owned coffee house, close to Englewoods library. The owners have done a wonderful job maintaining the unique character of their business, along with quality coffee and food. I love that they offer Kombucha on tap now and a wonderful french press option❤.

Solid grounds has such a uniquely large space. Not only is there a lot of seating, but there are many different types of seating - comfy chairs and couches, cafe tables, and dining style tables. No matter how you study/work/hang, youll find the right place for your bottom here! Coffee is good, many options for syrups and chai, and theres even gelato!

I dropped in with a business client, and regret coming in here. It bills itself as warm and inviting, and their staff was anything but inviting. The coffee was OK, however it was too loud to discuss the business matters at hand, we eventually traded the loud music and customers for the traffic outside on their deck and did get some business done.
