I went there near the end of their afternoon lunch buffet today and ordered some items à la carte for carry-out from one of their staff, deciding to avoid the buffet. The place was half-full of people still going up for thirds etc, and the thing was winding down. My order seemed to take forever, and I started to wonder why, because I was the only person who had ordered anything from the kitchen - it was all buffet customers in there. After at least half an hour, while the back kitchen staff were by this time hastily breaking down the buffet, the manager/owner guy by the register informed me that my carry-out would be coming out very soon. It indeed came out, the rice and other items gratuitously packed-to-bursting in their containers such that i didnt dare open the bag in the car, hungry as I was, for the mess that it wouldve caused. I got the food home and realised immediately that it was totally old food from said buffet, with the exception of the special Naan bread i had ordered, which was not part of their trough. It was, however, damp from sitting in foil on the line for half an hour while they waited for the buffet food to come to the back so they could fill the rest of my order with it. We all know what the texture and flavour of microwaved rice leftovers are like. It was when I discovered a couple of different types of hair in one rice container, neither of them mine, that my suspicions were confirmed. Their lunchtime all-u-can-eat buffet business model appeals to a certain type of customer, and they obviously have no respect for anyone who comes through their door. Anyone who writes otherwise you pretty much might as well consider a craven shill.

This review has nothing to do with the food or even the atmosphere of this restaurant. This has to do with an unpleasant take out incident. I called into this particular location and ordered take out. The man on the phone said it would be there in 30 mins. An hour later I still hadnt received my take out. I called in and inquired about my food and again talked to the man I had spoken to initially. He was so rude to me! He told me that he had written down my phone number wrong and that he had come to my apartment and banged on my door. I was in the living room the entire time, plus our apartment has secured doors, he needed to be buzzed up anyways. I didnt hear nor (obviously) did I get a phone call. He proceeds to tell me that he actually kicked my door and that there was no answer... So he left. He asked if I still wanted my food, and before I could even answer he shortly replies, "how do I know you wont hear me again if I come back?" I was so appalled at the whole situation and he yet again interrupted me and told me he "had to go" and hung up on me! I couldnt believe it. So needless to say I will never give them business again, and hopefully this will warn anyone who doesnt like a side of disrespect with their dinner. I didnt catch the guys name but it was enough to turn me off for good.

Ordered at 6:08 pm - calling at 7:35 pm - no one knows where my order is? I cant rate the food - I can only rate the ordering service - which is REALLY terrible. Called two of their stores - downtown, 6th avenue - no answer - on Saturday night! Called the Hampton Store they answered and were able to transfer me there - now I have been on hold for over 4 minutes while they try and figure out - if my 100 dollar order for 4 people will be done - OH MY! This is very, very discouraging! I had to wait on hold for 20 minutes to find out "driver is on his way" he should be there very, very soon? WTF???? now we are 1 hour and 55 minutes from the time I ordered the food that is not acceptable... I will update once it gets here so we can all know - the timing on delivery it is now 7:58 pm - and I still have no answer on this order - I should NEVER have done it online! I have 5 people at my house and no one has eaten! ARGH!!! Spent over 100 dollars and all they could say was - we got slammed with orders... sorry! Really there should have been some accommodation on our bill -

Not great dining on Mothers Day afternoon! Arrived 1:30, left before 3:00. Hard, undercooked lentils and chick peas in the dahl and channa masala, the only hot vegan dishes at the buffet. The naan and vegetable pakora bins were mostly empty, crumbles, slow to be replenished. The check was dropped at 2:00, we were asked if we needed anything else from the buffet at 2:15. We requested more pakora, and when a server brought us some freshly made, he rolled his eyes. Another server stood at the end of the buffet with his palm resting on the buffet plates. Other experiences at this L.I. have been far more satisfying. Since most of the customers were dining from the buffet, it wouldve made sense to have fresh, restocked dishes readily available. Apart from the first pleasant server who brought us drinks and pointed out the veggie options, the others seemed anxious to call it a day and end the buffet! Disappointing.

Ive ordered from both locations for two years now...apart from always receiving delivery 60-90 minutes after ordering (no matter the time of day), and apart from the Champa location being the only restaurant to EVER just not show up with my food (I was refunded my money three hours later)- Ive considered the food to be good enough to continue ordering on a semi- regular basis. However, after a delivery driver from the 6th street location tipped himself an extra $10 on my credit card on 2/28/16 ( after I tipped him $10 in cash), and after trying to reach the manager many times since then to only be given the run-around, Im sadly done. I recommend you all pay close attention to your tip totals...and support other Indian food establishments in this city.

Best place for Indian food hands down, but unfortunately I wont be giving this place my $ anymore. I placed a to-go order on a Sunday night and before leaving, checked the order. It was incomplete and when we went back in to get the missing items, service was very rude. Then once at home realized one of the entrees was completely wrong. Called them and asked them to deliver the correct dish, which they did, but two hours later and it required a phone call every half hour. I called the next day to talk to the manager (Robert) but he was out. It just so happened he was out each day I called. I was called once by someone to tell me that Robert would be calling me the next day, but that phone call never happened.

First of all, the place was almost impossible to park - no real parking lot. I was let into a door at the rear, which had a sharp metal bracket on it, which cut and bruised my arm. I got over that and was looking forward to a decent Indian meal. We are originally from London, so we know good Indian food. We started with the tandoori wings, which were pretty good. We ordered a chicken curry and a bombay aloo (Potatoes) - both turned up in sweet, tomato based sauce. We sent it back and it cam back pretty much the same. End result was very poor, non traditional indian food in unclean, unkept surroundings and I would never consider using this place again.
