Unfortunately our last visit to La Loma was not as pleasant as the previous visits when they were located in the highlands. When we arrived my three year old daughter and I were informed that the wait would be up to an hour. When we said that that would be okay to wait the hostess asked if was " really two people or just going to be my daughter and I" I informed her that the two person party would indeed just be myself and my daughter. We waited patiently outside for approximately 40 minutes as other parties of 4-6 people were seated in front of us. We were finally addressed and notified that a table was ready but "She would need it back within 40 minutes, and since its just you and a child we figured you wouldnt want to stay long anyways" The comment was odd and a tad bit offensive but I agreed to take the table offered. Dylan our waitress was very attentive and the food was amazing but the hostess Brittany continued to rush us out the door. Mind you there were MANY open tables surrounding us, including an identical table with four seats directly next to our table, and across from that a table for eight. I asked for a dessert menu and that was when we were approached by Brittany again notifying us that our time was essentially up and that if we did decide to order dessert that it would have to be rushed and or ordered to-go. I honestly didnt feel like even ordering dessert after that and we decided to leave . I have never been rushed out of a restaurant like that before and really hope that this isnt how you manage your traffic as a business. If so it is in poor taste and very disappointing.

I have never been so mistreated by a manager, this so called person that is supposed to control the evening. Im a server myself and whenever something is not up to par I go out of my way to make sure that guest leaves happy. I mean maybe I as a single person am not worth much to their business, but the way things were handled was below what you would get at McDonalds. First of all we were forgotten... and apparently they were not worried about it at all. Then when explansion of what was going on ( Idk if they were understaffed or what ) the manager at first seemed compassionate but then be never returned to see if everything was ok ( which I thought every mod did) and I explained that would only add to how well he did his job he knocked on our table and said " have a good night " then walked away. That blew me away. I have never had my boss hear of an unpleasant experience and not do her best to take care of the problem. So all in all the bartender working his ass off named Gabrielle was amazing but it was so sad to see him working harder than the Manager to make the night came together 7 out 10 going to the bar 4 out of 10 for the staff and 1 out of 10 for the manager.

Id love to be able to write a review listing all the great foods Ive had at La Loma over the years...but truth be told, Ive only ever had one dish! It was one of those experiences where you discover a dish that is so..far and above everyone elses interpretation of the dish, it becomes the standard you use to judge all others. For me, La Loma will forever be the home of Fajitas. From the perfectly grilled hand made soft and fluffy tortillas to the "I dont know how this can be so juicy" grilled chicken...it couldnt be better, and I mean that - I cant think of a way it could be any better. Over the years Ive taken many people there, and when you can look at someone take a bit of something and the flavor just washes over their face...thats how you know youre doing something right. The service has always been great, and its an interesting decor to simply look at and study, as you realize the building is now multiple conjoined buildings, some walls are old exterior walls, its actually very engaging. But all that aside, even IF the service was horrible, and it was the size of a broom closet, Id still be coming here for the food!

I went there a month back with a lot of expectation because of the awesome reviews. the place was full for lunch and had a waiting time for 25 min for a table of 2. even the bar was full and my expectations got bigger. I ordered one of their specialty drinks if i remember correctly it was a strawberry mint drink in a copper glass. I got something in a normal glass and did not seem like the drink i ordered. I pointed it to the waiter right there. He said" the copper glasses are over" . I felt very strange and tasted the drink. it was pineapple flavored so definitely not my drink. so I waited for him and told him its a different drink. it exactly matched with another drink of their menu. so its clear the waiter did not convey the right order and then tried to pass it to me. out of all the experiences in thousands of restaurant i would have been to. this was a first. almost funny but i felt bad that he did not even try to check. Between the taste of food was great. we had chicken tortilla soup and guacamole.

This place is probably the best Mexican food Ive had since I moved from Texas. The margaritas are really good, and the queso was delicious. My wife and I split the four item combo and the quantity of food almost killed us. Chicken taco - home made taco shell, juicy chicken, fresh veggies 8/10 Green chili smothered Shredded beef burrito - beef was tender and had tons of flavor, green chili was perfect. Not extremely hot but really complemented everything well 8/10 Green chili smothered chicken enchilada - again, green chili was perfect. Also, it was that same delicious chicken from the taco. 9/10 Cheese chili relleno - crunchy outside. Not greasy at all. Cheese in the middle was stringy and soft. The pepper was still a little crunchy and fresh. One of the best rellenos Ive ever had. 9/10 We got there right at 8:00pm on Saturday and had a seat at the bar for about an hour. Dont be afraid to wait. Just get a margarita and sit at the bar. Have fun and wait your turn. Its worth it.

Ive been coming to La Loma since I was born, so my family is very familiar with the staff and food. We never have bad experiences here and the food and drinks are always good! However, I came here with family two weeks ago and we experienced some not-so-good dinner services. Our waiter wasnt very focused and one point completely forgot about a take out order that we placed. The restaurant was not very busy so I dont understand what the problem was. I noticed all of the old waiters were gone, they were all kind, friendly and helpful. I was honestly dissapointed to not see familiar faces at the restaurant. Im assuming they were all let go since the establishment is moving to a new location which Im also very disappointed about. The current location makes La Loma that much more genuine and unique than any other restaurant Ive ever been to. I have a strong feeling this amazing restaurant will not be the same after its new location.
