A group of seven professionals (late 30s-mid 40s) gets 86ed after four $56 bottles of wine over three hours, having consumed appetizers, main course, and dessert. Yup, thats the kind of place the Cherry Creek Grill has turned into. Weve been there before, and enjoy the food and the atmosphere. But, after last night, we will never set foot there again. Last night, the place was full. We had a relatively private booth, right by the entry, so that there were no tables very close to us. We were in a festive spirit, but by no means loud or rowdy. We were catching up on the old times from law school. Mid way through dessert, the waitress brought our nearly $600 bill out of the blue even though we did not ask for it. It was around 9 oclock, and the restaurant was still relatively full. We shrugged our shoulders and paid it. Then, we decided that we were having such a good time and we wanted to chat a little while longer. So, we ordered another bottle of wine. The waitress visibly panicked, said something about "over-serving", then called her manager. The manager, lacking any manner whatsoever, basically told us that she was cutting us off. Then, mysteriously, a bottle of water appeared. After 3 hours, full dinner for seven people, and a $600 tab, we left the restaurant very puzzled as to what had happened. None of us was anywhere close to drunk. We were simply having a good time. Our advice: unless you are a party of 2-3, interested in a quick in-and-out, without engaging in much of an audible conversation, and definitely not more than two glasses of wine, dont go to the Cherry Creek Grill.

Visiting Denver and went here on a date night. Made a reservation for 6:15 on a Monday night, was seated almost immediately. The restaurant was a bit more "fancy" than I had expected; had I not been in business attire from earlier I probably would have felt a little out of place. Nonetheless, the staff was extremely friendly and professional to everyone. We were seated (outside on a very lovely day) and had our drinks by 6:20, and I was expecting to be out of there no earlier than 7:30. Alas, that wasnt the case at all. The service was EXTREMELY fast, even though it seemed fairly busy for a Monday. The menu isnt terribly broad so we had our orders very quickly and our waitress was there the instant we were ready. We had the seared tuna and the french dip, as well as the iron skillet cornbread. The cornbread was out to us in probably five minutes and was outstanding. Maybe ten minutes later we had our entrees, and they were also fantastic. I dont typically order ahi, but my meal was certainly one of the best Ive ever had. I did find it a bit expensive ($52.00), as Im a rather poor college student, but I think the prices are fair because you do get A LOT of what you order, and none of the food is even remotely disappointing. I believe I had about 8 sizable slices of the ahi with a very large, delicious salad, and the french dip was massive. We had to take about half of it to go. Certainly not as good cold or reheated. We were out of there shortly after 7. Overall, a fantastic restaurant in a great area, and it certainly made my Denver eating experience worthwhile. I would eat here weekly if I could.

One of my absolutely favorite colorado restaurants! They are consistently great, they provide a high quality of food and great service usually. Be weary of the scam artist waiters though, there are two. An older lady with blue eyes and black hair medium hieght and a young man. I ordered a steak they gave me a dry one (very unusual for them!) And she had it taken off of my bill. However I paid the bill in full anyway as regardless of the rare mistake I love and respect this restaurant. She accepted the over sized tip. I order frequently to go from them and my food has always been perfect. I came in one day to eat, the lady was there though not my server and there was a young man who was. I ordered a medium rare steak, I got a rare steak instead. I said something and again it was taken off of my bill and I left an over sized tip as I didnt want it for free I just wanted a properly cooked steak. ( mean while Ive ordered to go around seven times and not once was a mistake made.) So be weary.

It has been heart breaking to watch this once converted local restaurant being lead astray by reckless and frankly arrogant management decisions. It is a classic case of allowing their success to go to their heads. CC Grill was once a coveted spot with locals, providing both high qulaity and value. Though the service is still fantastic, who ever makes the decisions at this place has shown very poor judgment. Prices and a number of top menu items have been cherry-picked to suit the restaurants profit and functionality, over what pleases the customers. If you need evidence of this, remember fries being abandoned and look at the cost of core items like fish and especially the chicken. A little more competition in the area and these guys will get a rude awakening. I for one, can not wait until that day comes and we get the real CC Grill back.

You hear about these things happen and never think they will happen to you... I just went to Cherry Creek Grill and had lunch at the bar. It was my very first time eating alone at a restaurant and I was nervous (I am kind of a timid person...). I got the Macho Salad and their famous cornbread skillet which was AMAZING. It started raining outside so I saw the place was filling up and I put my card out so they could take care of my bill quickly. When the bartender came back, he said my meal was paid for and that they had taken care of it for me! I had told them I work in a restaurant and they just decided to be super cool and pass on some good karma!!! The food was amazing and the service was just icing on the cake. There are some awesome people in this world! Cant wait to pay it forward :) Thanks so much!!

They went through a rough patch with their management several years ago, which is reflected in some of the negative comments from that period. But since Bradlee, Chapin, and Stephanie have moved over from Hillstone, it seems that almost every time I come in there are some new, thoughtful touches. Getting rid of the noisy chairs on the patio was HUGE. It used to be like dining insider a snare drum. The stone wine bottle chillers, the high quality new umbrellas, using the fans to repel flies on the patio, it goes on and on. And meanwhile the staff has recovered to Hillstone standards, mastering and internalizing their complex procedures so their minds are freed up to pay attention to their customers. It is a well-oiled machine with heart. And the new farmers market chili corn on the cob is amazing!

Food used to be great but they change their menu so often that you never get consistency. Its gone from one of our favorite go-to restaurants to one we never go to anymore. Rotisserie Chicken no longer has enchilada sauce. Enchiladas no longer offered with chicken, but instead sweet potatoes (?). Another issue - they are ALWAYS out of something, or multiple things on the menu. Ahi burger, veggie burger, Ahi tuna salad..its always something and they never tell you until 15 minutes after you order it. This is a problem because the person has to get a menu again and re-order - meanwhile everyone else is about to get their food. A classic Denver restaurant that wasted away.
