Unless I gave at least one star, of which was not deserved!!! - We have been to Sunbird Restaurant several times before, with enjoyable experiences, but this Sunday was worst than disappointing and will be our last, as we found out under new management. Our Easter Brunch experience, 4-20-2014, we arrived 20 minutes as suggested, before our reservation, and waited for an additional 25 minutes after reservation time, 45 minutes total time, before being seated. We were taken to our table, husband stayed at the table for drinks and to talk with server, while the rest of our group went to food stations. When we went to food stations - more than half the food containers were, either completely empty, or very little in them. The first several plates from stack had food left on them and we set these aside and told other guests to not use those. The scrambled eggs were cold and soggy and the few potatoes I scraped from the pan were cold as well. After we made the rounds at the food stations and having stood waited, a good while for fresh food to be brought, of which never happened, we returned to our table, drinks had not arrived during all this time. Two of our group, got up to see if there had been food brought and we found there to be a line waiting for plates - we returned to our table, wiped the plates we had used and reused them. I went to the omelette bar and waited behind six people, two men were preparing the omelettes as well as, cutting the meats, I waited a very long time, finally ordered my omelette and went back to our table, as it was so crowded in the area for the omelettes with staff running back and forth for supplies ( this small area was also staff supply area) and people waiting in line, a horrible situation to say the least. Everyone at our table was talking about the lack of plates, as we could see the food area from where we were seated, half the area was filled with people waiting for plates. No excuse for this to be happening. Our glasses, now empty and waiting for refills, we saw some food refills arriving and went to get some, but lines were so long now from those having just gotten plates, most were empty by the time we got to them. It was the worst situation I have ever been through. Since we had been to Sunbird, several times before, we do know it can be handled better with food warm and plentiful - whatever was happening on this day was inexcusably poor management, of which we continued to look for a manager and never saw one on the floor. Summerized: cost was high at $40 a plate, food not replenished- more than half containers empty at any given time, food cold, not enough plates and of those, many still not cleaned - causing people to stand for long periods of time waiting for plates, beverages not being replenished, station for omelette preparations mingled with staff running through and in their supply area causing congestion and rude staff to customer interactions - ridiculous - move staff supplies from this area, tables jammed together so tightly, chairs touched and nobody could get in and out without others having to stand, bathroom had towels all over the floor - staff was not checking to keep cleaned and picked up - overall, bad to worse experience - without management on the floor over seeing, inexcusable.

My significant other and i flew in from central MD this week to attend my best friends wedding. While the vista / backdrop was appealing and great for photos, the planner (Keelin?) was absolutely atrocious. I will REFUSE to recommend your establishment to ANYONE. Heres why: 1) myself, the other groomsmen, and the GROOM HIMSELF all had to do everything from move tables, pick up trash, AND close up a large blue umbrella which the wind carried and hit the back of unfilled seats a mere 5 minutes before friends and family were seated for the ceremony 2) about 30 minutes before the ceremony, there were multiple (close to 10) large wasps flying around infront of the bar outside where EVERYONE was congregating, myself and others voiced the immediate concern for us and other guests (to include a number of children 10 and under) possibly being stung by them. The planner LITERALLY asked me "what do you want me to do?", and when we suggested wasp spray, she responded "oh yea i guess i can do that...". She never handled the issue and the wasps steadily grew in number throughout the night unabated. 3) around 10 minutes before the ceremony, she completely disappeared til the ceremony was over, at which time she sat on the railing by the inside bar just outside the door talking and joking to her friends while the event continued. We NEVER saw her the rest of the night. What kind of "event coordinator" or "wedding planning" do you hire for your place that does stuff like that? Incredibly irresponsible, and yet ANOTHER reason you will NEVER have a positive recommendation from me, my family, friends, or anyone else in attendance last night. 4) when the site was reserved outside for the ENTIRE event, the group was told that "no other patrons but you will have access to or be seated within this outside area". Which, imagine the surprise, when at least 2 or 3 groups of people that WERE NOT A PART OF THE WEDDING were seated outside by your waitstaff and hosts/hostesses. When i mentioned it to the inside bar, i was met with scoffs and insulting looks, my favorite of all was "pfft whatever well sit people outside the weddings over", then shooed/waved away. Like are you f-ing kidding me? All of these, and many many MANY more reasons, you will never have my business. This review will be shared with the widest of dissemination.

My husband and I have had dinner here several times, even brought our friends from out of town here. It usually has good food and a great atmosphere. Last evening we went for dinner and decided to keep it casual and sit in the bar. We wanted a window seat so we can have a view of the city and it over looks their patio with fire pits. The only table available by a window hadnt been cleared. So we walked up to it and sat down. Now mind you the bar was not busy. We had several glances from the bar staff but nobody said a word to us or approached us. I work in a customer service field and the first thing you do is acknowledge the customer! Completely unprofessional!! We sat there for about 5 minutes with another waitress walking past us, serving the other guests, yet didnt acknowledge us. The red head from behind the bar (Im assuming the bartender) looked at us several times with a smug look on her face, said something to the other staff that was behind the bar with her but again nothing to us. Not even a smile! Finally she came from behind the bar, over to our table and grabbed the 3 glasses on our table, clanking them together as if shes irritated were there!?? She did not welcome us. She said NOTHING and walked away. Seriously, how unprofessional is this!! Were sitting there waiting on Service and we cant get a hello, welcome to the sunbird, well be with you in a minute!!? She literally grabbed the glasses and walked away!! My husband and I had enough at this point and got up and walked away as they made us feel unwelcome. We went up front and had the hostess sit us in the restaurant area after explaining to her what had happened in the bar. I dont care how busy you think you are, (because you werent) you take 2 seconds away from what youre doing and greet your guests. A friendly hi, someone will be right with you. Sorry we wanted a window seat. Sorry, you have to clear this one off. Isnt this part of your job?! Im so disappointed in your bar staff maybe they need to find different jobs. A job that isnt in customer service, because they clearly dont understand how this works! Lane ( and I apologise if Im spelling his name wrong) our server for the night on the restaurant side was amazing! Maybe the bar staff needs to take a refresher from him.
