Went there are two occasions while visiting family in Arvada. Fist time we went in they had just opened and it was nice cause there were only two other people there. We had the Mac and Cheese and it was amazing, You could tell it was home made. My wife had the pear salad with the pork belly on top and she said it was and OMG moment...The creme brulee was great it has ginger in it to give it a distinctive zip with the mildness of the vanilla...YES there were actual vanilla bean pieces in it too!... The next time (two days later) we took our son and his fiance,,,My wife and I had the chicken Schnitzel and is was very good. The ingredients were fresh and well cooked. My wife and Ihad some smoke and mirror cocktails as with the previous visit. They hand craft the ice cubes and the notes in each drinks are very deep. Its a great place to get a taste of the history of Arvada. The tavern has one of the oldest liquor licenses around and the inside of the building keeps that old charm. Our waitress Danielle?...Apparently there are two but ours was blonde and so attentive but not overly so. She made sure we were well taken care of and we asked for her the second time so we could introduce our other family members to her. She was very knowledgeable with the menu, cocktails, and parings as well. Over all a very nice experience. One thing we went back on a Weds. night and the place was packed and loud so either go just after opening (around 4-5 pm) or get reservations so you dont have to wait. Ask for Danielle and you will be well taken care of.

The service is excellent and they prepare drinks and cocktails of own creation of the bartenders .. with a mixture of aromas and exquisite flavors ... unique. They are the best I have tried, also for the good quality of everything they offer the prices are excellent ...

Ive been to this place numerous times and all have been 5/5. This would be the same except things changed. THE FOOD. The rocky mountain oysters used to be delicious but a slight tweek in cooking and presentation has made them taste not quite as good. And the perogies used to be served with an amazingly delicious red cabbage. I mean this red cabbage was so good it rivaled the perogies as the best part of the dish..... but recently they switched to serving them with KALE!!! Of all things. Not nearly as good. The reason for these changes I got was "to keep the menu fresh". Well there is a difference between keeping the menu "fresh" and altering an item. I have no problem with items being completely taken off/rotated out. But altering the actual dish when it was amazing is a horrible idea. I get rocky mountain oysters from here because usually they are top notch. I dont want a dice roll on how the recipe is prepared each time. If it aint broke dont fix it. Love the tavern and hope they keep the good recipes good.

This is my favorite place in Denver. The elbow of the bar where I can meet cool people and watch the bartenders work their magic is arguably my favorite spot in the metro area. The craft cocktails served here are amazing! Each one has a unique and special taste all its own. Theres an artistry and attention to detail that goes into every cocktail. From some of the clearest hand carved ice Ive ever seen for their True Old Fashion to torching an oak barrel plank just to smoke the glass that will hold the Smoke & Mirrors, there are always those little touches that make the drinks exceptional. Add to that some of the most knowledgeable and friendly bartenders available, and its no wonder that I keep coming back.

This place is always spot on. This is where you go when you want a real cocktail made by some amazing mixologists. Love the speakeasy vibe and going through the phone booth to hear live music Fri and Sat nights. Tikki Tuesdays are not to miss! They decorate the place up and change the menu Tikki style every Tues! The service of the cocktails is impressive with flames and all! I havent eaten a lot there, but I did try the duck confit grilled cheese and it was phenomenal! The bartenders and servers are all so attentive and personable. You would be doing yourself a disservice by not trying it out!

The cocktails are as delicious as they are creative. The smoke & mirrors captures the smoke from part of a burned whiskey barrel. The Paloma and Penacillin are are refreshing as a Bees Knees without being so sweet. Most of the menu rotates - and can be hit or miss. The entrees can vary in portion size and execution, though the Green Chile Cheddar Pretzel is always good and a must order with a group. (Its a lot for one person to eat). The upstairs bar feels a little like a speakeasy, maybe because you enter through a fake phone booth. I love listening to many of the local bands that perform.

This place is amazing. Id highly recommend the grilled cheese, which is great in its own right and comes with the best tomato soup Ive ever had, or the mac and cheese, and a mint julep to go with either. Everything they do is presented in a very elegant fashion, be it the food, drinks, or bartenders in button down shirts, ties, and vests. The service was fantastic, and the "artisanal cocktails" live up to the name in both presentation and flavor, and still have a good kick. Theres also a separate room and bar upstairs with live music on the weekends.

Will definitely be back. Service was fast and very friendly. Great old-school atmosphere with live music and dancing at night. Decent rotating beer selection. We didnt get any cocktails but they looked really good. The food, though, was the best part. There were definitely some interesting things on the menu that we werent sure about but ended up being delicious such as the tempura parsley and grilled watermelon salad. I also highly recommend the trout and chicken schnitzel. Seemed like you couldnt go wrong with much on the menu.

This place is usually great if you want a well made coctail, just slightly on the pricer end. Usually the drinks are well worth the price. But, tiki night on Tuesday has pricy drinks that are mostly fancy cups and ice, with little alcohol. Also, the Scorpio bowl, which is advertised as "serves 2-4" is essentially a $24 dollar tiki themed dog bowl that is almost all ice with roughly enough liquid for a one person drink. Usually a big fan of this place, but TIki Tuesdays were a huge disappointment.

Expect to spend $60 (only drinks) or $100 (dinner and drinks) between two people for two hours. 100 minutes waiting and 20 minutes eating and drinking at twice the price and half the size. Its trendy and I get that, but under all the flair are meh cocktails. If you really really want an upscale drink, go across the street to School Bar and get a rare whiskey. Drinks aside, holy moley the food is incredible and worth it. 2 stars if Im buying and 5 stars if someone else picks up the tab.
