I went here for a consultation expecting that it would be a good experience. From the minute I walked in I felt like we were not welcome. I had told them over the phone that the consultation was for a birthday party but it seems like they might not have been expecting it to be a birthday as one of ladies asked me if I was the bride. Since it was for a birthday party and they knew I thought this was very unprofessional to ask such a question. Then when we settled in and cake samples were brought to us the workers went on with their work which is fine but they did not explain the different flavors. I know some people may think that as soon as you taste it you know but what if one of us were allergic to a specific flavor of cake or frosting? We decided on what we would like to order and waited for the lady to come back. We stood patiently behind the counter waiting. Finally the lady came and we told them what cake flavors we wanted, how many people we wanted to feed, and what design we wanted. We were quoted a crazy price and were told that everything has to be done in fondant. I have been to other bakeries where some of the work is done in fondant but buttercream is used for most of the cake. She told me that the hold cake had to be done in fondant or else the fondant details would not stick. A cake I got made before was made in buttercream and the details did stick to the buttercream. I knew this was just a trick to make more money, Whenever we needed some help the person we consulted would go to the back not even caring that a potential customer is at their bakery. Overall, I found customer service to be absolutely terrible. I will never ever give any business to them after what I experienced.

These people are crooks! Worst customer service! The owner is a pshyco and never fixes any mistakes you can read that in every review with a unsatisfied customer. So heres what happened I called and ordered a white cake with white cream frosting the cake was horrible! So dry and soooooooo much frosting it was basically enediable the bottom of my cake was practically burnt. I called to ask the owner what could be done. She was extremely combative on the phone and blamed me for everything and demanded that I bring in the cake for her inspection to get 50% store credit. So I brought the cake in and she immediately lost her mind,she started screaming for her husband who came to the counter shoved the cake at me told me to get out or he was going to hit me!!!! My son was with me and I was absolutely horrified. I told them I was going to call the cops so she picked up the phone and dialed 911 claimed I attacked her and almost hit my 3 year old son with a metal screen door trying to get my license plate. Cops show up and the officer tells me that she tends to call the police when customers are unsatisfied to have them removed. How can she get away with this I dont know. But this woman is CRAZY as they come the employees and husband are all crooked. Iv never experienced anything quite like this. Save yourself the trouble the cakes are awful and overpriced and dont bother trying to get it fixed if they mess up lol!! Should be called the crazy cake lady!

Horrible Customer Service.....I recently ordered from The Cake Lady Victorian House in Yuba City. I choose the Pig Pickin 4 layer mandarin cake with their famous pineapple frosting. It comes in 4 sizes; and to feed 20 I choose the small sheet cake and added strawberries. The cake look great but later I discovered it didn’t come with the layers of cake and frosting as described in their menu. The cake was a simple sheet cake frosted with pineapple icing with the layer of strawberries in the middle. The cake taste great, but it was not what I expected. When I called the Cake Lady and spoke to Jen, she told me that there was nothing that she could do, she didn’t apologize for the lack of clarification, or the disappointment I had when I realized the cake was not what I ordered. She then said " I’m sure it was delicious either way, and all Gone". I was astonished by the businesses lack of customer service and arrogance. A simple acknowledgement would have been suffice.

The Cake Lady has delivered cake after cake and they have been the best I have ever had. Ive had cakes from Freeport Manor in Sac and they do not compare. For my birthday, Jan, The Cake Lady, had made some amazing cream puffs. The pastry was light and fluffy while the cream was sooooooooooo sinful. They were a huge success at the party. My friends who are foodies were delighted in the craftsmanship that went into every single cream puff pastry. On other occasions I have had the Pig Pickin and an absolutely fabulous Coconut Cake that she does once a year for Easter. I have tried cakes and cupcakes form other bakeries in the Yuba-Sutter are and they just seem so boxy tasting. My family and I are die hard Cake Lady fans and will always pick quality over quantity with this place.

The Cake Lady was the best choice we ever made. Not only are the cakes fantastic but the customer service was fantastic. My husband and I drove by at around 5:15 to check the hours and Jan was in the store waiting on another customer when she invited us in. We were there for about 30 minutes, not only did she give suggestions on cakes and decorations she gave me tips on setting the table for the desserts. Our first experience was our daughers wedding three years ago. That cake was not only gorgeous but it tasted delicious. Make the Cake Lady your first choice.

This is the worst cake shop in the world!!! My friend just picked up a smash cake for her 1 year old and it looks horrible! She doesnt even know the flavor! $32 for a mystery cake measuring exactly 3 1/2" in diameter (yes I measured it). I begged her not to use this lady and now I get to say I told you so! Although I would of rather her had a great cake!

Their cakes are extremly good. Little pricey but their customer service sucks you get better service from safeway bakery then here. Ive bought 3 different cakes from them alwaz amazing but they have no tack or people skills. They also get really anoyed when u open the box to view the cake before u leave.

A decent design ability. Flexible as to the design to be used. Made a great cupcake version of Bells dress from beauty and the beast. Also had them do my wedding cake. Good flavor. This place is expensive and has poor customer service so hope they make it right
