As I sit here feasting on a warm, freshly baked Marble Taro bun, sweetened to perfection, an Iced Sea Salt Jasmine Green Tea, and a bag full of the most delicious & unique pastries you will find, I am blown away by how easy it is to pass by some amazing places without notice. If you have a sweet tooth, you will enter this place and swear youve died and gone to sweet tooth Heaven. Everything here is freshly baked, and warm when you take it out of the pastry case, (probably because its so busy, they can barely keep them stocked). As gorgeous & reasonably priced as they are, its downright impossible to choose just one. You have your choice of Marble Taro buns, Mango Panna Cotta, Coffee Raisin Buns, Taro Swirls, Mini Fruit Pies- from Pumpkin to Blueberry, Peach & Apple Pie- Matcha (Green Tea) Rolls, Cheesecake slices, beautiful whole cakes, and delicious Coconut Twists. And for you weirdos out there who dont like sweets, youre also in luck! They have savory options, as well. Their Brick Toasts are topped with unique options such as Thai-style chicken, Hawaiian-style chicken, and cheese- I know, that last one isnt very exciting. But wait, theres more! They have savory baguettes with toppings ranging from mushrooms & herbs, to cheese & tuna- not in that order. And pastries arent all they sell. There are also decadent parfaits, and interestingly salty iced coffees & teas with a milky top that lends a certain creaminess to the drink. All I can say is, when you come here, for Sweet Tooth Heavens sake, come hungry! Youll end up regretting it if you dont. Well... you may end up regretting it if you do, as well; but its a good kind of regret. I think.

Taiwanese Starbucks? I guess it is like Starbucks in subtle ways - like the fact that they serve coffee. However, thats where the similarities end. For one, its quite noisy. It almost reminds me of a dim sum place where you constantly hear numbers being called and announcements every single time fresh bread comes out of the oven. While it loses to Starbucks when it comes to a place where you can study, 85 makes up for it with not only for its wide selection of drinks, but also a place for a variety of fresh baked bread and cakes. Iced sea salt coffee with less sugar is a good choice if you have a hard time deciding what drink to order since its unique to 85. I liked the ham and cheese bread for the savory and the brioche for the sweet. The brioche is nice and soft bread on the inside with a crust that can bet describe as resembling that of a cupcake. It tastes especially good when its hot out of the oven. Overall, the West Covina location is probably the better one compared to the other ones they opened in so cal. Theres plenty of parking and the line does move fast despite how long it looks.

85 is one of our favorite places for a good coffee. But we also love their pastries and breads too! My personal fav is the garlic bread! The prices are also pretty good too considering how expensive other alternatives are when it comes to a hot drink. The overall atmosphere in most locations I Ive been to are always pleasant and the customer service is pretty decent as well. If here was anything I wish they could do better at it would be UNLIMITED supplies of their baked items. They are so yummy I guess that is impossible. Another thing I would add is that they also have some pretty tasty cakes and smoothies as well. When ever we think of coffee, pastries, breads or just a nice place to go have a little Java, we always look for an 85^ in our area. They definitely need more locations and later hours! Otherwise I think its pretty hard to get better than they already are. In Covina my kids love the water fountain that has a huge glass ball in it, its the perfect setting on a sunset time of the day. Yes, we love this place a lot!!

Very refined pastries, cakes, and bread. None of the items is too sweet. The store is very clean. I like the fact the food allergies information is clearly labeled. Very consumer friendly for those who have family members or friends who have common food allergies. The pineapple pastry exceeds the standard. Its a very traditional Taiwanese pastry and it gives me a fond memories of my childhood. The filling has the right proportion and one is enough to go with a cup of hot tea! Recent new items such as squid ink bacon bread, squid ink corn chicken breads, green onions chicken breads are delicious!

Fast, Friendly, and Good Prices. I can go in and even if there is a lot of people they get you through the line very fast. However, they do take a bit long to make drinks during the rush, the price makes up for it. Bread is always fresh and they always have my favorite Marble Taro and Green Tea Roll! I go and try something new every time and always come home with enough bread for the week.

I was blown away on my first visit. What a great idea. Fresh baked goods in accessible cases. Get a tray and tongs and go for it. Savory lunch tarts, multi grain breads, dark chocolate buns and calimari buns, cinnamon twists, and more. There is a variety of drinks, hot & cold. You can take all to go or sit at a table. I wish we had an 85 degrees in Texas.

Im giving this 2 stars only because my kids like it there. However the last several times Ive been there, Ive experienced horrible customer service. They are not friendly or welcoming at all, and make me feel as if theyre doing me a favor by making my drink of choice...which happens to be a pricey one! They need better training in customer service!

My favorite 85°. They make my seasalt caramel ice coffee perfect. I also like the pork song. My 2 kids like everything here This location has plenty of space and good seating. Establishment is very clean and festive during the holidays. If you never been to this bakery. Please do yourself a favor and spend a few minutes checking this place out.

Youll need rehab and therapy to quit this place. The freshly baked bread and pastries call my name at least twice a week and the caramel black tea is divine. The sounds of someone calling fresh bread as they deliver another tray of yumminess will haunt you in your sleep. Dont miss out on this delicious bakery, youll regret it forever.

85 has become popular in other socal locations for not just the bread but the bustling energy of bakers coming in and out of the kitchen yelling fresh bread and running around the lines. This location kinda lost that energy and its impacted the service, food quality, and selection. Needs new upper management to turn around.

Delicious fresh bread and pastries at a very good price. This place is worth stopping by for a quick snack or if its time to buy cake for a bday party/celebration. The cakes are beautifully decorated and will definitely be attention grabbing. The coffee drinks are also delicious if you just want to get your caffeine on.

The pastries are 10 out of 10!!!! Major complaint is that my wife and I stopped in on a Friday night around 10 oclock and almost all the baked goods were sold out, even though they are open until midnight. The reason is they staff poorly and stop baking at 9 p.m., but stay open till midnight.
