I had such a poor experience I will NEVER return. The food was mediocre at best and took a very long time to come out. A friends order came out nearly 20 mins before mine and I had to insist that they begin with their meal because it was getting to the point of pure disregard. However, the worst part is that the so called "manager" was very aggressive with me when I asked to speak with him in regards to some menu items, which I did in a very polite manner. Even before I could finish asking my question I found myself sitting at the table talking to no one as the "manager" walked away. I felt very insulted by this action and decided that I should let the "manager" know. On my way out after speaking to the manager about his poor method of dealing with a customer, I had to laugh to myself while he stood at the door waving me off antagonistically and calling "byeeee" to a friend and I. This is no way to treat a customer and because I wanted to be sure that the waitress didnt get in the middle of this situation I left a generous tip and asked her to inform her general manager of the situation.I actually felt so uncomfortable by the actions of the manager that I repeatedly checked my credit cards statement to ensure no fraudulent charges were made. I am absolutely never returning to this restaurant and will in fact condemn its recommendation to anyone considering it.

You can see a distinct shift in quality and service after the remodel. I guess their mortgage is so high that they have decided to focus on profits. They certainly dont care about quality of food or customer service. We have been visiting once or twice a year for special occasions for 20 years. On our most recent visit we were greeted by some rude teenager who laughed when we said we wanted a table and said, "If you dont have a reservation you need to get out of here." We understood that we may not be able to get in, what we didnt expect is some teenage ass being rude. Ive also looked into the most recent (2014) food reviews and now Im glad we didnt get in. Looks like the only thing worse than the service is the food. Its sad. This was once a hidden gem and Im sure within a few years it will just be the building where Cho Cho San use to be located. I did call and speak with someone who claimed to be a manager but they said it wasnt a big deal and if I wanted to come eat there I should call in advance next time. No, "sorry" for the rude kid. The manager acted like I was an idiot for coming to eat without a reservation. They have obviously forgotten that the businesses that are on top today, will be on the bottom tomorrow... If there was a -8 star rating I would have given it to them.

The service was horrendous, the food had ridiculous amounts of garlic butter (and I love garlic butter!), and the price, for what you get, was pretty poor as well. Our party came in two groups, but there policy is to not sit the group until everyone is there (which I understand when the place is extremely busy, but we came for lunch and literally there were two other groups there the entire time!) What made matters worse is the staff started speaking in Russian and didnt realize we had three native Russian speakers in our group. Was extremely unprofessional and simply rude. Then, the cook took our orders, but couldnt remember who ordered what so he put the wrong food on the wrong plates without even asking. In addition, the food had way too much garlic butter. Like, i love garlic butter and dont mind having a lot in my food. But this was excessive even for me, every bite I couldnt taste the food, only the butter. It was just a really poor experience that you cant believe actually happened. We will definitely not be visiting again. I would avoid this place if you dont want to be treated poorly, dont want to pay more for disappointing service, and actually want to taste your food.

ALL PATRONS PLEADE READ!!!!!!Cannot belive what just happened!!! Went to the Teppan side, before I went in I mentioned to the hostess that the last time my chateaubreaunt was over cooked (I always get that steak) , the staff assured me everything will be taken care of. My wife and son and I where having a great time, our chef comes out and starts cooking. Within about 5-10 minutes in, my wife notices that his(ISRAEL) finger is bleeding!!!!!!! OMG!!!!!! HES ACTUALLY COOKING WITH A BLEEDING FINGER!!!!!!!!! Hes wipping his hand, and still cooking!!!!!!! I get up , go to the hostess and inform them of what is happening... They said they will speak to the manager. I go back and my wife saw blood on the chicken!!!! Absolutely disgusting!!!!! The hostess said they asked if he was cut, and he said no. I told the hostess I was appalled and I grabbed my family and we got out of dodge. I will be contacting the County health department. Hopefully they will have repercussions for their awful hygienic practice, or lack of.

Our regular Thursday-evening Sushi place. Weve been coming here for a number of years, and have seen managers and lead sushi chefs come and go. However, the quality is uniformly high, and theres enough continuity of staff that the service is consistently good as well. We particularly like some of the more traditional dishes (Uni, Unagi, etc.), but rolls are excellent (Super Rainbow roll, BSC, etc.) Recently, portion sizes have diminished somewhat, and the kitchen is paying much more attention to the precise mix of ingredients - for cost management, Id guess. As a result, the value is slightly less than a year ago, but still quite satisfactory. Over the last 18 months, a number of redecoration efforts have been completed, freshening the appearance of the restaurant. Most recently, an interior wall was removed, opening up the "sushi side" to the glassed-in veranda - a very nice touch.

My first exposure to this restaurant was back in 1997, when I worked in nearby Camarillo. Our unit would come here at least three times a month for lunch and the occasional after-shift dinner. I left the company in 2000, but I still try to get out here a few times a year, even though its about 30 miles away. The food is that good. The service is that good. I was reluctant to even share this information, for purely selfish reasons. When you find a restaurant that is doing it right, though, you have to let them know, no matter how much your wait time may be adversely affected in the future.

I love the food here, but the service sucked the last time I went. Took forever to get seated when there were a bunch of open seats in the teppan room. Then after we got seated they seemed like they kinda ignored us until another group of two got seated with us. At the end of dinner it took forever for our waiter to even collect our payment. I love love the food. The fried rice is amazing and the salmon...yum!!!! So would defiantly go back.

Funny for how I once hated the idea of sushi, it has become perhaps my favorite cuisine these days. Guess having somebody show you the ropes on how and what to begin with was a great idea after all. My friend "The Hammer" brought me to his favorite sushi bar and now its on my go to list and in my top three choices for this wonderful delicacy. I have yet to try everything, but thus far all the dishes I have tried have been awesome.
