A wonderful meal that delighted and surprised my wife and I. We had just learned about Murphy Ave recently and decided to go back to that area for dinner last night. I had chosen the last restaurant (which was kind of meh), so last night my wife chose Tarragon. I was really surprised on how excellent everything was. We started out with a Beef Carpaccio Crostini that smelled amazing and tasted even better. For dinner my wife had a chicken special they were running which was quite tasty and had a really nice and delicate potato pancake; rather than the usual overly greasy ones. I had the Prime Tri-Tip and after the first bite I was impressed. It was some of the best beef Ive had since I moved to the bay area a year ago. The Gratin Potatoes that came with it were lightly herbed and delicious, and the veggies were awesome. Since we checkedin with FourSquare we got a free dessert to share and decided on the Butterscotch Banana Rum Cake which was so against my diet but so worth it. It was nice to have something delicious and sweet at the end without it making us feel heavy and bloated. The service was quite good and our waiter was attentive without being annoying. He even apologized for serving me before my wife because one of the plates was too hot for him to do it the other way. I thought that was quite lovely. I rarely write reviews about restaurants as most are just basic and not worth the time of writing one. Tarragon impressed me enough that I think others should try it for dinner when in the area.

Im not really a review writer but for the first time in a long time a restaurant has succeeded to knock me right on my derriere. First of all, 2 words: POACHED PEARS. I die. I ordered a salmon and spinach salad and literally had multiple mouth-gasms upon eating the little purple, poached pears. They smelled like marshmallows. I will never be the same. THEN, as if it couldnt get any better from there, I almost passed out from the surge of rapture sent by a bite of the dessert I ordered. A scrumptious peanut butter ice cream in a hard chocolate shell drizzeled in caramel, so ethereally delicious it is most appropriately named Bomba. For it is definitely the BOMB. The guy who took my order was really nice and attentive too. I can definitely see myself coming back! There are more desserts I want to try! =)

Amazing place. $20 early bird specials really make this restaurant stand out compared to others. Its a 2 course dinner, you choose from a baby greens salad or chefs soup of the day for the appetizers, a variety of options for your main course, then finish off with dessert wity the choices of yummy tiramisu with chocolate sauce , or a chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce (largest dessert from their choices), a New York cheesecake with passion fruit sauce, or a douvle espresso. The interior is lovely, service is amazing, look out for a server named Tyler, hell make sure your dining experience is awesome. Their butternut squash ravioli is delicious with an interesting apple cider sage cream sauce.

I have to say I was very impressed. Not only with the quality of the food but the customer service. I walked in the restaurant after lunch was being served from a long flight and was starving. I was informed by one if the employees they were no longer serving lunch but pointed me over to who I presumed was the owner. He immediately came over and asked how he could help. I told him Id like a something to eat and he went and spoke to the cook and they made me a Great chicken breast sandwich with a salad. This was one if the best chicken sandwiches Ive had. It has me a mix of flavors and just what I needed. I highly recommend this place and will make this one of my prime spots.

I was there last January and it was fabulous. Had to ask for drink napkins because no coasters were provided but the waitstaff was great. The real high point for me, believe it or not, was the mashed potatoes. Everything was delicious but those potatoes were the best ever. I dont even care for potatoes but I cannot stop thinking about how good they were. Incredible. Cudos to the Chef. When you start with a good piece of salmon, it isnt difficult to make it taste good but for a foodie like me to remember mashed potatoes? Now thats saying a lot. Thank You, Tarragon.

Our waiter kept forgetting us, and there werent that many people in the place. It took forever to give our drink orders, forever to get our drinks, then things got a little better. We were able to order from their new 3 course, $20 menu. I ordered the baby greens salad, the Creole prawns with basmati rice and mango salsa, and the brownie with vanilla ice cream. Everything was presented well and tasted great. The waiter forgot to bring our coffee, but we were able to collar the bus person.

I went there for the Thanksgiving special and ordered the "Prime Rib" which turned out to be the Pot Roast prepared like a Prime Rib. It wasnt terrible, but it wasnt great. I think it would have been amazing if it were prepared correctly as a Pot Roast. Im sure their usual steaks are amazing, but I found this too insulting, as though they didnt expect the customers to know what good food is, so I wont come back for their normal menu no matter how good it is.

The wait staff are very professional, particularly the young lady who covers the raised seating area on Friday nights. This is a good restaurant for a date or business lunch. The food is good and the space accommodates a bar with high tables, dinner tables for small groups, quiet booths, or a space for a large event. We enjoyed Friday evening music many years ago, and wish for at least quiet background music now to distract from other tables conversations

“Tasty & juicy meats welcomed us!!” I visited there together with my colleague in June. A waiter was very friendly and kindly told us characteristic of each meat. That was very helpful for us to chose meat. Unfortunately, for some reason, my steak cooked too much though I ordered to make it "medium rare". However, a replaced steak was cooked perfectly. Tasty and juicy meat satisfied...

Stumbled into here one day for lunch and was blown away. Is it an amazing restraint with amazing quality food? Not really. The place is super nice and the food is really good. The biggest shock for me though is how cozy and nice the ambiance o the place is given its location in Sunnyvale. I honestly didnt expect a nicer quality restaurant on this little strip.

“Just for the food!” This place is all about the fresh food! My favorite is the Grilled Chicken Breast Hummus Plate. The Chicken is grilled only after you order; so, do prepare for a long wait. I usually ask for the non spicy version - it means no Jalapeno or any spicy condiments. The atmosphere is casual - plastic picnic tables and benches.
