Love this place. Its been around forever so to call it "retro" does it a disservice. Its a survivor. And now The Lamplighter is going back to its roots by calling itself Corkys again. There is something for everyone here and all of it is great. The fresh carved turkey sandwich is really good, especially on the nutty, soft whole wheat bread (add avocado and youll come back for more). But the broasted chicken is why Im recommending Corkys. Its terrific. Flavorful and very crunchy. Best when theyre serving it with a waffle (no need to leave the Valley for chicken and waffles people!). As for service, we had a fantastic waitress who was very attentive, got everything right and was overall thumbs up. The management came by to make sure we were happy and was very helpful.

yes wwalked by and was so happily amazed to see it back after 29 years i remembered it as a child great servie and food and so popular for all as well as my older frinds that loved the bar Todya it was even better than before. seldom inlife you find a place that sells and rebuys but it was so popular and certainly came back i believe even better servcie and food good now bar also good . former waitress and long time resident of sherman oaks welcome back corkys gag 2010

Food was delicious! Ordered the Short Rib Grilled Cheese with Truffle Fries and was not disappointed. The restaurant has candlelit table lighting and it gave a very relaxing feel. This place is definitely a hidden gem and the waiters were very attentive and responded to every request we made. The only small issue we had was that it was a cold night and the restaurant has surrounding windows that brought in cold air throughout our dinner.

Stoked to have this place in the Inner Richmond. Respectable selection at some surprisingly well priced glasses and bottles. The place was so new that it still smelled like paint- looking forward to when that wears off. The art that lines the walls is a great touch and I can see this place hosting a few art shows. Very happy to have this place in the neighborhood!

Saw the place today and thought wed try it. Loved it. Food was excellent, service attentive, management checked up on our experience a couple of times. This is a restaurant like I remember from the golden days of LA. Prices seemed a little high until I saw the quality. Worth going a little out of the way for.

Major disappointment of a diner. Despite its rich and colorful history, Corkys is merely average. Food is bland at best and menu is unusually limited by diner standards. Clientele is questionable at times (boorish, menacing). Staff, however, is exceptional. Attentive and friendly.

Sat down waited for service in the morning, ignored for 8 minutes when theres only 1 other table occupied also waiting!!! We all left very disappointed. Diner, fish & chip acceptable. Everything else sucks, and forget about the cheesecake...they will honestly tell you not to order

I am a vegetarian! I LOVE ordering their Reuben... without meat, Extra sauerkraut & adding the lettuce, tomato & the pickle garnish from the hamburger that my friend always orders... he never eats those condiments... but they sure do taste good on my Anti- Reuben!

Corkys makes my dinner experience extravagant. With exquisite service, super nice staff, delicious food, and very clean property i recommend Corkys for the whole family. After, my daily workout at Kicks Martial Arts, i enjoy a way to eat my way to relaxation.

A classic diner in every sense of the word. If you want a cheap tuna melt and some fries and you want to pay basically nothing for it, this is your place. Service is very fast, menu is diverse, but dont go in thinking youre getting gourmet ingredients.

Usually go there on sundays after church with my mother or bymyself the food is great the atmosphere is wonderful n the pictures that they have of the old van nuys its warm n toasty. P.S. Stephanie who works the register is so hot n beautiful wow.

Look, I like a diner. I like the food and I like the ambiance. But this particular diner served me a cup of coffee with a hair in it and then charged me for it. Pretty lame. On top of that the food was mediocre. So two stars is generous...

For the price you pay its not worth it. burger was very basic for $12 and onion rings were hard to eat. Way too crunchy. Almost $40 on lunch for 2 people is pretty steep considering it was nothing that remotely made me want to return.
