Wonderful chef (with a penchant for wild mushrooms & ultra fresh, local fare) creates entrées and salads with spot-on sauces and dressings, in a verrrry relaxed atmosphere. First timers may be a little confused walking in to a place with a large cushy couch and what can appear to be inattention from staff. It can border on feeling like youve arrived too early for dinner at a close friends house, and she isnt quite ready to receive you. But once youve gotten the rundown of the club - and sampled Chef Ricks incredible wild mushroom dishes or creative salads . . .youll forgive the alternative dining ambiance. Case in point: I dont care for beets or feta or the other ingredients in Ricks chiogga beet salad - but I love THIS salad. My dining companion ordered it and after one taste, I ordered one too!). The freely flowing, expertly paired, tailored to your unique tastes wine pours are a bonus. Once I let go of expecting military precision like servers, I relaxed and thoroughly enjoyed the ride.

Wonderful people, great food and wine, casual atmosphere... our kind of place. The food is local, fresh and very well prepared, the people make sure the wine matches the meal AND your preferences. They make suggestions for wine, allow you to try it, and if its not love at first sip, they find another until they are confident you are happy. The owners make you feel like friends even if you only stop in every other year or so. Highly recommend. We will be back. Just wish it wasnt a 4 hour plane ride from home.

We had such a great dinner. We went with a group of friends, 2 of which are members of the Wine Club! The owners of La Bodega are warm, friendly, and have a broad knowledge of wine! We tasted some unique wines and had the most amazing dinner. The food was outstanding....all house made , local and organic and lots of Vegan and Vegetarian dishes to choose from. The atmosphere is informal, cozy and non-pretentious! Oh my.... the ravioli and the risotto and the tower of greek salad! YUM!!!!

I went to this place on 7/13/17, in the evening. There was a large crowd, all celebrating Bastille Day. I was meeting a couple of friends, and the staff met me and were quite friendly and welcoming. I really had a nice time. The chicken cacciatore was delightful, the cab sav fantastic, and the chocolate, lemon tart, and buttercream dessert I shared with my friends were all heavenly, all at a reasonable price. I plan to go back soon.

We love this place! They serve excellent food and amazing wine in a cozy little restaurant that has the ambiance of the Mediterranean countryside! It doesnt hurt that the staff is friendly and knowledgeable about wine. 9 times out of 10 the chef has even taken the time to drop by our table and shoot the breeze. You can tell hes totally passionate about the amazing food he cooks up in the kitchen!

We Love La Bodega Kitchen. Feels just like home. Definitely need to request a plate licker. Chef Rick is a master, his mushroom and smoked salmon flavors are delightful. The wild mushrooms, morels, porcinis, and more are bountiful and expertly whipped into mouth watering creations. Bryan and Meek and crew really have created something special.

Wow, I was thoroughly impressed with the quality of food served, and quite a variety of delicious dishes. The service for tasting wines was superb, I found great pairings for the pastas I sampled. Combine that with a cozy & informal atmosphere, this place is well worth visiting. 2 thumbs Up!

The most fun you will have eating a meal in Sonoma!!!! Very low key but do not let the bare bones, set your own table, non-existing paper wine menu fool you. The food is hands down the best we had in Sonoma. DO NOT MISS THIS EXPERIENCE.

Fantastic food. Very accommodating of a party of 8 including 2 infants and a toddler. Its not often we get to eat a gourmet 4 course meal at 11am while watching the toddler feed the shops chicken. Dont miss this spot.
