My recent stay with the Hilton in Santa Clara was one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had in my life. My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights during the weekend of the grateful dead shows at Levis stadium, it was an amazing weekend except for our accommodations. I understand that there was a lot going on because of this concert but the staff were literally taking away our rights and acting like dictators. Being a hotel that is right next to Levis stadium, I would expect they get a lot of large crowds and people who have come to have a good time but the hotel made sure you could NOT have a good time. Instead they only let people into the hotel that were registered to your room, no friends allowed in the hotel or even the parking lot. They also checked our cooler to make sure we were not bringing alcohol into the hotel. My boyfriend and I are well over the age of 21, so why were we not able to bring alcohol up to our room? They also threatened us with putting the whole building in lock down mode, meaning no one could get in or out of the building for the rest of the night, which is ridiculous! They told us to smoke our cigarettes tomorrow and to go to bed. I did not pay over $500 per night to be treated like a child and get my civil rights taken away. Every other hotel in this area was treating their guests with way more respect and dignity. If the super bowl was to ever come to Levis stadium this hotel would be a nightmare stay at, so STAY AWAY!!!!!

Decent stay, but not a great value for the price level. Front desk was extremely nice and welcoming upon check in. Room was dissapointing, smelled of cigarette smoke, carpet and armchair had stains, no microwave in room. La Fontana restaraunt staff was great, Rosa was very sweet in particular. Biggest complaint was that upon checkout, I asked for a copy of receipts since my room and incidentals were paid for on a company card by my manager who was also staying. The clerk DOROTHY asked for my card saying "I just need to check it really quick" and confused I handed it over, and by the time I understood what was going on she had swiped it and charged it for my incidentals. She explained "Your company is only paying for your room, no other charges". How on earth would she know my companys per diem policy?? Not one to make a scene I received my card and left knowing its reimbursed, and not exactly a big deal, but how unscrupulous to ask for a credit card under false pretenses?? Is that how the Hilton operates? Will request lodgings with their competition my next upcoming trip. Its likely a better value even though its a bit more per night.

The reasons for me giving this location 1 star out of 5 are the following: 1) the only thing this place has going for it is its location right next to Levis stadium if thats what youre in town for, otherwise avoid this place 2) the staff is rude and not welcoming, it actually made me think "do these people charge extra for servicing with a smile?" 3) when I asked for an additional bed, their response was "you already have two what do you want another one for?" Im 65" and my feet hang off the bed and its a common request I make when I travel 4) they normally have complimentary umbrellas for their guests on days its projected to rain. Today 12/20/15, it is 8:15 am and it hasnt started to rain and when I asked for an umbrella at the front desk, they were out of umbrellas. You guys draw whatever conclusion you desire, but it seemed EXTREMELY unlikely for that to happen 5) this is more of a generic complaint due to the expensive area, but a chicken salad should not be valued at $23 U.S. DOLLARS, thats insane! Thats all on my end, thank you for your time and I hope your experience here is much more pleasant than mine

I stopped by today to look at the facilities since my family and I were planning to stay two nights in June. The service of the concierge representative is the only reason I am giving the hotel two stars. He took the time to show us the hotel and his tour was excellent. In fact, we were excited to book a room. I was going to do so online but I tried to book a room with the woman in the from desk instead since I was already there. She was rude and condescending. I simply asked her about the size of the beds in the room. She rolled her eyes a couple of times and rudely told me that she could not guarantee that I would get a queen bed room. So I asked her for a room upgrade that would comfortably accommodate two adults and two grown children. She rudely said, " Do you want the double bed? I already told you that we cant guarantee you a queen bed!" I tried to politely explain what my request was and after her third eye roll I chose to leave. Rudeness has no place in the hospitality business and in front of children.

Very comfortable, spacious rooms with very clean beds and furniture. The executive lounge is spacious with a great view of Levis Stadium. The staff has always been friendly and provides prompt service. Parking is tight if you get in late, but there is usually space in back. The restaurant/bar is good, and the gym is limited - they could really use a cable machine combination. The most frustrating part of this hotel is the HUGE variance in pricing from day to day, week to week. Often times I get a much better deal if I book on the day of arrival rather than in advance. I get the strategy to maximize their revenue based on demand, but it is VERY frustrating for a traveler who wants consistency and prefers to stay in the same hotel when visiting the San Jose area. I really liked this hotel so I asked to speak to a manager about negotiating a reasonable rate I could count on and I would stay here each time. I never got a call or email from the manager.

Came here because we had to evacuate our home due to the creek flooding in San Jose. Beautiful hotel compared to the other Hilton hotels. The front desk personnel were sympathetic and kind. We were able to bring our dogs- we have 2 pitbulls. They offered dog treats. We were rushing to get out of the house when I just finished cooking spaghetti for dinner. My husband got a call from the neighbor, and the neighbor said he was evacuating. He told us to look outside our front door- the water covered the street and our sidewalk! I put the spaghetti in tupperware and forgot paper plates and utensils. Joel in the restaurant gave me real plates, utensils, and napkins so that my family could eat a home cooked meal after the stress of evacuating our home. I didnt have to leave the hotel to find paper plates and utensils. The rooms are nice- we had the view of Levis stadium and Great America. This hotel seems like it was remodeled or upgraded- very classy.

I reserved room paid and booked online, when I arrive they want more money Im unsure why they didnt just charge my card for full amount when I booked get blind sided in lobby so give card again get checked in. Go back to our vacation, when we come back at 10 pm we find ourself locked out of room so we go back downstairs to find out they want money again because not enough on card so offer cash they refuse saying they only take card so we are forced to give debit card which removes money from account for 5 days which is just ridiculous in this day and age so after all this then they escorted us back to our room to demand to see our ids. So we missed fireworks with our kids over a stupid 50 dollar charge they wanted to tack on. Not only a huge inconvenience while we were trying to vacation but downright dirty dont advertise a low price to tack on more at check in
