What used to be The Little Sparrow ---Black Box---and now Mix Mix Kitchen Bar, I have to say its terrific as ever! All of the restaurants thats occupied this space has always been on par and Mix Mix is no exception. If presentation is everything, your feast with your eyes here because the plating art here is phenomenal. But for me, taste out wins every time and it was terrific today during lunch when they participated for OC Restaurant Week. Ordered: Poke Nachos -Poke over Chicharones? Yes plese. BTW, the poke here is seasoned well and has taste of salt, ginger, soy, acid. I could eat a whole bowl. Crispy Barramundi-Slightly crispy skin over vegetable provencal. Crazy as it sounds, the vegetables were better than the fish. Just slightly. (Would give a 10/10 for the vegetables and 9.8 for the fish) Tropical Verrine-Passion Fruit Gelee and Coconut Panna Cotta? Say no more. Can I get a ticket to Hawaii now? Girl Scout Smores-Well...we thought the torched marshmallows was a tad too much. Too much sugar equals too much burnt taste. It wasnt bad, just not as fresh and refreshing as the Tropical Verrine. Overall, really solid lunch for OC Restaurant Week as they normally dont open during lunch hours. Hence a reservation is needed for lunch this week. Heard they are going to open for lunch starting next week, but with a different menu. Were coming back again in a few days! Thats how good this place was.

At Mix Mix, I ordered for a drink a lemonade, which was extremely sour and delicious. I thought it was awesome. For appetizers cauliflower, poke, and ceviche. Delicious! Then, main course I had a delicious sea urchin pasta! A-may-zing!! Definitely recommend ! :)
