Ugh, where to begin? Okay, first off, these are no ordinary ice cream sandwiches/cookies. It is THE most deliciously decadent ice cream youve ever had wedged in between two moist, chewy, fall-apart cookies of your choice. Its like the neighborhood ice cream mans ice cream sandwiches on crack. Their flavors are seasonal, always unique, and very flavorful. Meaning they actually taste like what theyre supposed to taste like. Its almost like gelato in that way. When the ice cream hits your tongue, youre not overwhelmed with an overly sweet, cold and tasteless sensation. So, the red velvet ice cream actually tastes like red velvet cake; the french toast ice cream has an infusion of cinnamon and brown sugar taste. The cookies are always fresh, and its easy to mix them in with the ice cream, so youre getting all those rich and delicious flavors in there, perfectly complementing each other. (Always grab a fork, by the way; youre going to need it). And the best part is, you get to choose two flavors of everything. So, you have two different scoops of ice cream wedged in between two differently flavored cookies. My favorite combination is the french toast and Baileys coffee ice cream, with one espresso cookie and one red velvet. Of course, everything Ive ever tried is amazing, so you can go all out and not be disappointed. Go crazy! The only downside is that, as special as Chunk-n-Chip is, you actually have to hunt them down or plan ahead in order to catch them and get your delicious ice- cream-cookie-sandwich-on-crack. I highly recommend stalking them on Twitter, and figuring out where theyre going to be on any particular day. Or go to their website, where they have a schedule on where theyre supposedly going to be each day of that week. I say "supposedly" because there have been a couple of times when Ive gone to an event they were supposed to be at, and they werent there. Other than that, these babies are totally worth it.

The only dessert truck at the Irvine Lanes Truck Lot was Chunk-n-Chip. But looking at their menu, I think I would have tried them even if there were other options! I love ice cream sandwiches. You can mix and match, choosing up to two ice cream and two cookie flavours. I thought that was really cool because usually youre limited to one ice cream flavour for these things. Their ice cream list had some interesting flavours and the guy was nice enough to let me sample three of them. Eventually I went with the following combination: Espresso + Lemon Zest cookies sandwiches White Chocolate Chip ice cream and Rose with Raspberry and Lychee ice cream. It was quite an interesting combo. Would I do it again? Probably not, just because the espresso flavour was overpowering and I couldnt taste the lemon zest very well. So my cookie choice was not the best... if I was to do this again, I might just get both cookies as lemon zest. Ice cream wise, though, I was happy. I was actually going to do the rose ice cream with vanilla bean, but they had just run out of vanilla bean and the substitute was white chocolate chip (which wasnt even on the menu!). It had actual white chocolate chips in it and was rich and delicious. So it balanced with the rose ice cream. The portion sizes here are huge! Those were big cookies and a LOT of ice cream. We ordered three ice cream sandwiches (there were three of us) so he packaged them nicely since we were going to eat them in the car. I liked the guy taking the orders--he was really nice! AND they have a Yelp check-in offer. The ice cream sandwiches are normally $5 each, but Chunk-n-Chip offers a $1 discount if you are a student (with ID). I carry around my student ID with me for this very reason, so I just paid $4! The truck is cash only though, so make sure you have some George Washingtons with you ;)

I am rating 5 stars solely on their phone customer service as they were NOT IN NORWALK AND NEVER HAVE BEEN! after a few minutes of looking for them and after having driven 25 minutes to get to where GOOGLE MISTAKENLY LISTS THEM AS BEING LOCATED, I finally called to ask exactly where theyre located because we couldnt find them. The Lady who answered the phone was very nice and sounded genuinely sorry that we had gone on a wild goose chase. As a matter of fact, she sounded just like some who sells warm, gooey cookies should sound. Id bet she smells like cinnamon too. She apologized for GOOGLES mix up and invited us to come to their actual location in Santa Ana. I might just take her up on that one day. GOOGLE, get your Sh***t together. This business deserves it.

Cookies! Ice Creams! Cookies + Ice Cream!?!!? = a darn happy time! My gfs and I are all dessert addicts and we fell in love with all the unique flavors Chunk and Chip had to offer. Some of my favorites were the Coffee flavor green tea match cookies. The re bake the cookies before they apply the ice cream on top, as yummy as the cookies tasted the ice cream melts quite fast so make sure to dig in there ! I almost didnt even get the chance to try the second flavor that we picked because it was all melted by the time we dug our forks in! overall yum!

Chunk-N-Chip is one of the best ice cream sandwich trucks out there! Their flavors are unique and cater to every tastebud and personality. Whether you like subtle and light, or sweet and savory, Chunk-N-Chip has something for everyone! You definitely want Chunk-N-Chip to spice up your next event! The customer service is outstanding and the flavor possibilities are practically endless. If you havent tried their delicious IC sammiches, youre definitely missing out!

We came to Chunk N Chip after a very disappointing brunch and we all walked out with big-ole smiles on your face. My friend and I shared a sammich (clever name) made of buttermilk honey cookies with lavender blueberry and their coffee and coconut ice cream. So far it’s one of my top 3 favorite desserts this year! The staff was super helpful and told us we can bring it back if we didn’t like that combination. How cool is that!

The staff was incredible - cheery and lively and polite, VERY professional. The girl at the cash register was very helpful in helping me make my decision since there was so much to choose from. All in all I was so pleased with this. Shout out to the staff last night! Great work! You guys were really busy and still managed to make me and my friend feel special. GOTTA TRY CHUNK N CHIP!!!

My family loves Chunk n Chip! We’ve been there more than once and I try a different flavor each time. So far kudos for their fresh mint and their pear gorgonzola ice creams. It’s like a garden bursting in my mouth. I also like their horchata chocolate mole one. It’s not something I was expecting. So many layers of flavors.

Finally got to try Chunk n Chip last weekend in Santa ana I would say this is the best ice cream cookie sandwich Ive tried anywhere. Many flavors of cookies and the ice creams, and very unique. I had the rose almond cookie with orange blossom and black currant ice cream

We had Chunk n Chip as a late night treat for all our wedding guests! The service was fantastic and the ice cream sandwiches were absolutely delicious (as always). They were an absolute hit to say the least. My husband and I still enjoy their treats at 4th street market.
