Good drinks and good food good service. Not cheap. Probably worth the price. They have a good wine and beer selection, full bar, and interesting drink menu. A few of the drinks are well designed variations on classics if skewing a little on the sweet side. I havent had entrees there yet. A burger at lunch was very good. Appetizers with drinks were also very good. The cauliflower latkes were great. The staff Ive met have been helpful and knowledgeable. They were able to answer questions about the menu and make informed recommendations. Both the food and drink are priced commensurate to the quality. It can make for an expensive, tasty, night out.

Food is always good at Vault--its one of my favorites. Hearty but simple American food menu. Love the wood, brass, and velvet touches that gives the restaurant, which was converted from a historic bank, a rich atmosphere. Small bar area and they have a great private dining area for groups as well. Garage within 1 block, but parking in the evening in busy downtown SM can still be tough because there are tons of restaurants nearby and its across the street from the movie theater.

I would never go back to The Vault. tonight 12/12/13, While eating and enjoying my night out with friends we noticed COCKROACHES on the wall right at our tabel. They ended up running across our table which got us up and straight to the hostess. They did nothing! The manager came out to talk to us as we were leaving. He said he has never seen roaches in the restuarant. That was it!!! Ruined our dinner!!

Went to the private dining room so cant comment on the regular restaurant. Very professional staff and food is well prepared. Bathroom is a bit lacking but functional. Kitchen noises come through to the main room and presentation screen is a bit high. The bonus TV for showing the presentations for those not facing there main screen is nice

Great food, went for lunch. We sat at the bar and still got service like sit down. Not a quick lunch place, but Id go here for a business lunch. I wouldnt be able to frequent this place due to the price, but I would be glad to bring friends here while in town or for the rare longer lunch breaks.

Came here for the second time. First time we had some brussel sprout chips which were very awesome and very different. This time I went with the garlic flat bread and steak. Great meal all-around. Their version of the Long Island Ice Tea packs the perfect punch as well. Good times!

The food is really good and its not your everyday run of the mill resturant. They did a great job in maintaining the places history by incorporating a lot of the old banks architecture. All in in all its a great place to check out if you havnt been :)

Really nice restaurant in San Mateo, with tasty food and nice service. I tries the chicken, which portion was smaller than I expected, but still really nice. I also had a creme brulee as dessert which was glorious. It can get a little overcrowded.

The bf had a buisness meeting here so he brought me home some take out. Honestly I really wasnt impressed. Two tiny crab cakes 2 inches big for nearly $20? No garnish, nothing. Mabye the food is better at the resturant but take out is meh.

Upscale feel, with modern decor. The modern "Californian" menu is good (very similar to "Scratch" in Mountain View). Good place for just getting a few drinks and cocktails too!
