Arrived fri 9:30ish. Restuarant half empty, seemed cozy enough. Was seated in back at a single table. Asked for potatoes well done. Dish came out, never saw the initial server. Asked the gal who delivered if the potatoes could be well done. She took entire plate back. Tried to flag down the server dude- he ignored me while he chatted with his co workers. 2 more cups of coffee / 15 minutes later, server dude came back with my plate. Didnt ask if I needed anything. Would have ordered an orange juice-glad I didnt. They had left my eggs under the heater for 15 minutes while the potatoes were being cooked. Cheese was hard and inedible. potatoes must have sat too because they were cold tasted like cardboard. Pushed the plate away, server dude no where to be found. Gave up trying to get attention. Hungry. Started in on the flavorless bagel, halfway through my bagel, server dude came by and with a big smile and a thumbs up looked at me. I shook my head-asked him to charge me for the coffee and the bagel. He tried to get me to order something else. After 45 minutes in the restaurant with bad food and worse service I was done. Kindly told him no thank you. Manager came by, said no charge for the bagel and coffee. More understandable if they were actually busy when I was there-No way would I go back. Maybe this is a pancakes place but I wouldnt return to try it again. Seems like a tourist trap that caters to the out of towners staying at the airport hotels down the street (like me). Way too many places in SF area to waste my time in this place. Oh, the no parking feature sucks too.

This is a great place with excellent food but just a few minor quibbles that would make this a 4.5-star review. First the food: the menu is probably best described as decadent, with lots of options for pancakes and French toast toppings that are absolutely delicious if not excessive. There are creative entries as well; on my last visit I ordered pancakes topped with carnitas. It was awesome! And plenty of omlett dishes and sandwiches round out the menu. They also serve alcohol which makes it a solid brunch spot. My only issue with Stacks takes the place down a half star. The coffee is awful. Id be more OK with that if it werent $3. For the quality of coffee they have, they should give it away. Its also strange that they DO give away the coffee, IF youre waiting for a table. A nice courtesy! Once you get seated, it costs money. In my opinion bad coffee should only have one price: free.

Unlike some of the other places in the area for breakfast, Stacks has plenty of room. Great for a morning meeting as you dont have to worry if youll get a table. Ill not say anything too negative, but the overall experience was average. The waitstaff were nice and the food was okay. The dining room was a bit musty, as can be expected in an old building on a rainy day I guess. It was about $20 for 3 pancakes and orange juice plus tip, so Id say it is a tad expensive for breakfast. However, Id give them another chance down the road.

Delicious breakfast food here. Went here for brunch for the first time with a few friends that were in town on a weekday. Beautiful day so we decided that wed like to sit outside. The waiter didnt seem to like that very much but whatever. Had the special pancakes of the week which was a raspberry pancake. Really good stuff. Had a short stack but those things were the size of your head! Id give them 4 *s but we had a few dirty cups and plates >.>

We had heard good things about Stacks and were worried that the hype might have been too much for them to live up too. We were not disappointed! The food was great, the prices were reasonable, service was good, and the atmosphere was ok. It did get a little loud at times, but that had more to do with inconsiderate people rather than the restaurant itself. Would I go back? Absolutely!

We met some friends there for brunch this morning. The food was good. The portion sizes are extremely generous, and the service is fast. The dining room is a bit loud, and they are definitely very busy around breakfast time. Parking closet to the restaurant isnt bad in Sundays. Theres a free loft right across the street from the restaurant.

A popular breakfast place if you are interested in quantity and not quality. Their food is not bad, but its certainly not good either...just average diner breakfast with no soul or love put into it. Service is efficient but not super friendly. Location is good though...you need a long walk around Burlingame after youve eaten here.

When I first went there, year 1, they only had Scrambles and no real, semicircle, ingredients inside Omelettes. Omelettes are way better. The pancakes were Huge. But the Coffee was Horrible. Now I see small omelettes pictured, but not LISTED on the Google Map menu. Guess I will go by and look at their menu.

Brunch menu equipped with variety of options for any taste buds. Lots of familiar flavors that you grew up with with sizable portions. Usually a wait here but you are in the middle of hayes valley. Plenty of spots to wait in the sun or grab a coffee or juice while you wait. Reminds me of the east coast.

A wonderful corner breakfast/brunch spot with a long list of delicious meals. Be warned, it does get very busy, but the influx of people is understandable given what you get. We were lucky and were able to get a nice and sunny outdoor spot. The service is on top of each order, so youll leave very happy.

They have several locations and I frequent all of them. They are by far one of the best breakfast places Ive ever been to and I am very picky. Absolutely everything on the menu is of the finest quality. Apparently they actually crack the crab for their crab crepe which I highly recommend.

Place is all-around "alright"; "mediocre". The service could use the most improvement, as the food is satisfactory. Overall, the place appears as if it could use some work. Food took awhile to come despite the restaurant being half full; I cant really imagine how itd go with a full house.

Busy during weekend brunch times, but otherwise cozy breakfast spot in the downtown neighborhood. Outdoor and indoor seating. Coffee while you wait when theres a wait. Very efficient and courteous serving staff. Huge pancakes! One equals a regular stack of 2 or even 3. Order wisely :)
