I have eaten at Petras several times, and really enjoyed the food there. Everything I have ordered thus far has been excellent, and the service at the restaurant is always great. I highly recommend this place for anyone in the mood for great Greek food, whether passing through town or as a place to take your lunch break. That being said, my 1-star rating has everything to do with the delivery driver who nearly caused my to run into him on the freeway. At around 4:40pm today (July 18, 2017), I was on highway 1 heading to the Mens Colony to pick up my wife from work. A few miles before the exit, I saw the delivery driver swerving in and out of traffic behind me, then all of a sudden he cuts within a few feet in from of me with no blinker, causing me to slam my brakes. He then proceeds to tailgate the car in from of him all the way until the exit, where he speeds around the corner toward the Mens Colony. In the parking lot where I pick up my wife, the driver gets out to grab his delivery, and stares me down with a nasty glare. This is absolutely unacceptable Petra, I beg of you to please do something about this incident. I cant imagine letting something like this go unsettled. The delivery vehicle was a silver Honda car, with CA plates #7TZH653. A picture of the plate and driver is also attached. Thank you very much on advance for your dealings on this matter.

I was passing through on my way home to Portland Oregon from Ventura California and I seen this place had good reviews so figured why not give it a shot and I was astounded on how amazing it really was! I worked at a Greek restaurant in Portland Oregon for 5 years and worked in other Greek restaurants and hands down this is some of the best food Ive ever eaten in my entire life! 110% for sure the best Greek food Ive ever had!! Do yourself a favor and make sure to put this place on your list when on a road trip or for that matter drive from San Francisco and put the best food in your mouth youll ever have! Thank you for an awesome experience and please please please open a place in Portland!

Best food in slo without a doubt. I cant count how many times Ive been to this place. The food is superb. Anything on the menu is excellent. Sandwiches, plates, even pizzas! Everything is just sooo fresh all the time. Whatever you decide to get, be sure to get their sauces. Theres like 4 or 5 of them and they make each bite a unique experience. Lastly, Petra had amazing beer on tap and an entire wall filled with beer. Youll definitely find any kind of beer you like. If you come here as often as I do, be sure to buy one of their happy hour anytime glasses. Amazing food, amazing drinks, doesnt rek your wallet. Best place for food in San Luis Obispo.

For authentic, home-style Mediterranean food, look no further. The freshly baked pita bread arrives on your table warm and steaming. The hummus has sumptuous garlic overtones. The seasoning of the gyro meat and the lamb is to-die for. The greek feta pizza is awesome. Im on a quest now to introduce this place to all of my friends. So far, no one has been disappointed. To top it all off the atmosphere is warm and inviting. They are open seven days a week from 8am to midnight (great to have this as a late-night option). Head there now!

Came here a few weeks back and left stuffed full of delicious middle eastern food. I have to admit it - Im a bread guy. I came here and just ordered a large order of hummus in the hopes of snacking on the food my family ordered...and fell in love with the pita bread. It was fantastic to the point where I went back and ordered more to enjoy with my hummus...so delicious and fresh. My family ordered the shwarma and they loved the juicy chicken as well. Lots of great flavors in their foods and sauces - cant wait to come back!

My favorite restaurant in San Luis Obispo. Not only the food is great but staff are awesome as well! They are very I usually just order the falafel sandwich but their gyro is to die forrrrrrr! They have awesome choices of sauces to put on your food! The first time I was there, it was a small cozy restaurant. I recently went last month and they have expanded the area! They have a long list of local beer choices and towards the end of closing they have happy hour!

Ahhh the joy of walking around some random cute little downtown of a small town in middle of California and finding one of the best Mediterranean mom & pop restaurant. Absolutely loved everything we had here: Hummus and pita was super fresh, beef and lamb kabab was top notch, so was the flavored yellow rice. Surprise package was the chicken and garlic pizza which was pretty amazing.

A great atmosphere with extremely friendly staff and good Mediterranean food. Make sure to get the sauces from the bar, especially the Chipotle, and rice pudding from the kitchen (its free). The beer selection is fantastic and happy hour very well priced. They have a big bottle selection for to go beer and usually run a special if you build your own 6 pack.

We were invited here by some friends, we accepted. In all the years I have lived in SLO, I had never been. I will say, I had heard great things about Petra, and I knew they had lamb (I love lamb). Needless to say, I was not disappointed. The food was marvelous, and the prices were reasonable, the staff friendly and the service quick.

Fantastic Greek food. Affordable prices. I LOVE the hummus and pita bread. I could eat just that for a meal. But I also love the chicken schwarma. So I usually get both. They make a tasty unique pizza too. Theres a nice amount of space inside for dining in. I usually get take out and they have never messed up an order.

Pretty yummy! So many options. And great pizza( gf too!!) as well, which you wouldnt expect them to do or so well, but all their stuff is great!!! Good rotation of taps and amazing selection of good, natural, yummy bottled drinks (alcohol and not) --very unlike any other restaurant in that manner.

Wow, found this place off ratings, drove up and was a little worried. It looked a little rough from the outside. But we trusted the ratings and thank god we did!! Inside was AMAZING! Food was amazing! If you like beer, they have a HUGE selection. EAT HERE!

This place is almost always busy but theres lots of seating. Food is good, not great. I had the Gyros plate. Good selection of beer on tap and even better selection of bottled/canned drinks from all over California. 30% off if you get a six pack too.

Very disappointing with the food quality. The traditional tzatziki yogurt sauce was not very good. The presentation of the plate was weak and not what a traditional dinner looks like. I had very high hopes but was not impressed with food.

A great spot for a quick Greek fix. The pita and schawarma bread are great. The stuffed grape leaves are awesome, and highly recommended. They also recently started doing ka-bobs. Order at the counter and then go find a table, enjoy the rest.
