A wonderful place to hang out with kids or get work done. They roast their own coffee on site and have a wide list of coffee selections to choose from. The best part is the kid corner for kids to play. Not to mention the great sky lights that offer ample natural light inside. They have free wifi and plenty of outlets for your laptops. Plus, pastries are 50% off after 3pm. The only catch is they close at 6pm daily. I wish they would stay open later. Unfortunately, the landlord will be raising rent at this location and after a year long negotiation, Zocalo will be forced to move elsewhere. Their last day at this specific location will be 9/22. Help support your local cafes!

Quiet atmosphere, gross lukewarm hot chocolate. It was raining and my son wanted to go out. I order him a hot chocolate (which he loves anywhere else) and when he gets it, he refuses to drink it. I take a taste and not only is it extremely bitter, its lukewarm. This is the second (and the last) time weve had this experience. I understand its a kids drink but it could have been warmer than that. Ive never seen him refuse to drink hot chocolate before, but I cant blame him. He was mildly interested in the kids area, but I think well keep looking for a enjoyable rainy day place.

Zocalo, in san leandro youre the best all others, can go to rest You have coffee and food servers are nice and not rude This has character and is hip and cool They got couches, tables and stools Library and child play area to boot The whole community they suit Pretty bomb cafe. They have it all, food, drinks, play area, library :) They have a lot of space, a lot of faces, busy, but you can get a seat from time to time. Just a rad place to stay. Theres also no annoying rules like cant use your laptop at certain hours. People just chill, and theyre cool with it.

Zocalo is a really chill coffee shop (even as coffee shops go), the environment couldnt be better in my opinion. The coffee and the food are tasty and reasonably priced, which is reassuring because with the economy in the condition its in these days nobody wants to pay an arm and a leg. Zocalo is also pretty active in the community, even allowing some of us to stay and watch documentary movies after closing. If you are in the area and feel the need to put a little pep in your step, then please give it a look. Its yourself you would be doing the favor.

First impression walking in this place, calm and welcoming. We came for the waffles but they had discontinued them. This is a good place for the following types of people.. Ages 18-65 no problem Students Hippies Locals People on the go Beer and wine drinkers Networkers I gave this place 4 stars because they need a better barista, the coffee isnt the greatest.. a local coffee shop should be flooded with coffee drinkers, instead people come for breakfast sandwiches. I will come back. I hope this helped.

If large co-working space with g great coffee and yummy snacks, this is your place. Youll find plenty of tables with "library-type" chairs with c comfy couches and arm chairs, too. Food is tasty and coffee is fresh and delicious but a little pricy. Staff is friendly, theres a bursting bulletin board with local groups, events and offers galore. The library is well stocked with books to enjoy. If this is in your neighborhood, be due to check it out. See you there!

This is my go to place at least once a week. Certainly the best cafe of its type in the area. When my children were small, it would have been perfect for its toddler zone. Would give it higher ratings, but the menu is all carbs, offering little to nothing low carb and skimpy vegetarian offerings. The other star was lost due to noise level. Bad acoustics are worse with grinder running behind the counter and high music volume when the owners are not there.

Pack with people. Coffee is good and friendly customer service. The cutest thing is there is a corner for the kids to hang out and play. I would say this is a pleasant surprise to find this coffee shop in San Leandro. This place is like the only vibrant place around the area. You have to walk into the cafe to feel the difference between the quiet outside area and the inside friendly atmosphere.

If you are looking for a place to relax with a nice cup of coffee, look elsewhere. This isnt it. There is a dedicated kiddie area with a noise level to match and the coffee is dreadful. For those content with their sugar-flavoring-milked-down drinks at Starbucks then it will probably suffice. I have yet to find a quality cup of espresso or cappuccino on this side of the Bay.

The atmosphere here is a real winner as are the pastries. Unfortunately the coffee was just mediocre, maybe it was just what I ordered or maybe Im spoiled by what SF has to offer. Either way it is worth a trip to Zocalos just to grab a cup of coffee, your favorite pastry, and read the paper. They even have a section for the children to play should you have any.

The Coffee, food and drinks are awesome, and local; the ambiance is always vibrant; awesome service and workers, too. Ive been living in San Leandro for 13 years and this is by far the best café in town. I go there to do hw, readings or have conversation with friends. Highly recommend.

As a parent this is one of the few very toddler friendly brunch places to go to. They have good food, excellent coffee, and a closed off childrens area, which is great for parents. Easy to find parking and its in a safe area. Free Wi-Fi, and plentiful power jacks . Great.

Love the vibe of this warm and cheery establishment. The staff is always helpful and kind. My favorite is the Mexican Mocha that I yry to treat myself to weekly. They also have the best savory scone I have ever had in my life with bacon, cheddar, and chive

Zocalo is a really nice coffee shop for meeting up with friends. There are many tables to choose from making it a great study location too. I came here the other day with a friend and order the Pumpkin Spiced Latte and a Pecan Wheel. Both were very tasty.

Great coffee shop. Nice options for seating with a section in the back for kids to play. I was there on a Wednesday morning and it was quite popular but enough room to find a table. Will definitely be back!

Your kids love to go there for the play area. You love to go there because its a coffee shop and not the playground. The whole family is happy. What more can you ask for from a small local biz?

The dark wood interior and low light give this gem a honest and friendly place to come enjoy a cup of joe which goes great when paired with your favorite pastry or organic eggs and toast.

I asked for a surprise and the lady gave it without hesitation, proving she was smart and capable of creativity. Starbucks employees have failed me with this test over ten times...

My favorite coffee shop in the whole state!! Not all sugar like dem dudes in Seattle. And they dont charge for soy. Biggest plus for me is Cathy always knows exactly what I want
