My son wanted to go to a place nearby... so we did and afterward we were starving. Looking around at some of the choices and not wanting fast food we saw this little restaurant across the parking lot and decided to take a look. It looked like a typical mom and pop place so we figured why not. The food was amazing and since it was a weekend afternoon we were the only people inside. It was bliss. My son is autistic and can sometimes talk loudly or make noises and the lady at the counter was so sweet with both my kids; showing them how to use chopsticks and to pick up edaname (soy beans). The kids picked it up right away. The food was delish!!!! The hot and sour soup had just the right balance. Seriously it was awesome. Any place that can see that you have a special needs family and will go out of their way to ask us if we need anything, and also keep the tea pot filled (I love tea btw) is a life savor!! Thanks well be back next time we go down on that side of the bay!!!

Really not great food, I should have known when I arrived at 7pm on a Friday and no one was there. Ordered online through their app, and they didnt start on my order until I arrived. Super greasy (still dripping) egg rolls, veggie fried rice is pretty much steamed rice with chopped mushrooms and something green that tastes like mint, sweet and sour chicken is soggy not crispy. Veggies in chow mein are not cooked and very crunchy, not to mention the rotting cauliflower. While waiting we used the restroom which was disgusting... soap all over the walls, light switch caked in grime, toilet never cleaned and scummy. Oh, and someones hair was in the chow mein container. Yuck!

This place is so dirty. I ordered sweet and sour pork and in the beginning it was good until I bit into a piece of pork that was spoiled. It smelled so bad.. I almost threw up. I had my brother smell it too and he agreed. When I told the waitress about it. She kept arguing with me and tried to defend that spoil piece of pork. So did the manager. After I left I felt so sick.i ended up throwing up everything. Worst place ever. Do not take anyone you love here. Would not even give it a star.

Living close by, I always drove by this place and didnt think much of the exterior. Until one miserably hungover Sunday, while searching for a nearby remedy for my ailments, I decided on giving Golden Rice Bowl a chance. The atmosphere was typical for your standard Chinese joint, but the service and food were amazing. They even took custom orders for gluten free dishes and offered to use gluten free soy sauce. All in all, my housemates and my hangover were impressed and satisfied.

Been going there since they opened. Food is authentic and they will cater to a more western flavor if you wish (not necessary, as is, is perfect!) More spice, less spicy, not burn your gut hot, or sear your soul burning but tasty. Her husband is cook and does it all. Mom and Pop going it alone and making it work. The family is what America is about. The food is what Chinese family style cuisine is defined as. Never on busiest day, takeout or dine in, have we been dissappointed

I had admittedly avoided this place opting for the Taste of China directly across the street. The food is delicious plus they deliver in youre in the area. I wish I had treated myself sooner and I wouldve had more soups delivered during cold and flu season. The prices are fair and their soups are great. They have plenty on the menu for everyone and tasty & light pearl drinks. This place might not look like much from the outside but treat yourself to some tasty food.

I had my fingers crossed when placing the order on door dash. Let me start off by saying the portion size was decent but the food didnt have any flavor. The chicken chow main taste like oil the lemon chicken sauce was watery and I order some spicy chicken that wasnt spicy and the crust of the chicken taste like mush. This will be the first and last time I order anything from here. Wasnt worth 32$

I have been here a few times now. Ive done take out and eaten in. Both experiences were great. The woman who runs the front, so to speak, is very nice and knows what she is doing. The food is great too. We ate lunch there today and everything was great. I could not tell you if it was authentic. My preference is enjoyable food.

These people are great!!! I was a little early the food was NOT!!! It wasnt waiting on the counter getting all cold... I was there five minutes early and everything was ready five minutes after that... I just think thats awesome... And it was really really good too...

The owner (lady) is sooooo unbelievably kind and friendly. The food is excellent. The best Chinese food in San Jose...hands down. I especially love the prawns with lobster sauce. And their vegetables are very, very fresh.
